Do you see by any chance any similarity between evacuating settlers peacefully from occupied territories & what happened last century in Bosnia for example? I'm sure a democratic Palestinian territory will be much capable of eliminating terrorism which is the main obstacle now for the prosperity of the whole region. Keeping few settlers in an area with a vast majority of Palestinians will not help any purpose. I'm sure you want all the people of the region to live in peace & active cooperation instead of hatred & fighting.

Since the creation of the State of Israel, the Middle-East knows more and more fundamentalism . Any scholar can onfirm this fact. Remember the destruction of 400 Palestinian villages by Israel and their tragic consequences. If really the USA are intersted in democracy, they must impose it first to Israel by forcing it to: - Abolish the apartheid laws against non-Jews. - Allow the return of the Palestinian refugees. - Annex West Bank and Gaza, creating one democratic state with equal rights for all , regardless of their religion. In this way the USA create a model for democracy in the region and stop the rise of fundamentalism. Any other speech about democracy is propaganda and hypocrisy

I see the term "apartheid" frequently used being used on this site in regard to Israel. Frankly, I think the reason is because it's so inflammatory...not because it's a reality. This so-called "apartheid state" has Arabs in its parliament, its universities and its media. If only those poor, beknighted black South Africans had to deal with such an "oppressive" system.
