Why not get the Palestinians to destroy the homes as well. I mean, when the settlers are evacuated, we can tell the palestinians to fire as many Qassam rockets as they have at the settlements. Would save us a lot of money!!! As regards the money to get rid of the rubble, the Palestinians have not paid us for the removal of all the rubble (including dead bodies) from all their previous firings at the settlements, and they want more!!! Just to show how absurd the whole idea is!!!

When I read the various letters that are written on Talkback, I detect a great deal of hate. It would be better if all you letter writers put your emotions aside and presented your cases in a more rational way. For example Rivera loves the phrase "ethnic cleansing." This is actually a highly emotive and inaccurate statement. The Jews who are to be removed from Gaza will be resettled in new homes and given farmland, etc. This is not ethnic cleansing! It is resettlement in a different area. Jews who slander Prime Minister Sharon should remember that he has spent his life defending this land. One may not agree with all his decisions, and one may be opposed to him politically, but that is not a reason to slander him or anyone else. Similarly, it is wrong to sprew out hatred of settlers or Arabs. They are generally decent people. What ever side one takes, the leval of debate would be greatly improved if writers would cut out the name calling and present the facts as they perceive them to be. If we can't love each other, we should at least present our points of view in a respectful manner.
