The Dakar's disappearance will always be a source rumors and wild guesses, even though its wreckage was found and the technical problems that led to its drowning are known. The reasons are not relevant anymore. What's important is that the berieved families of the submarine's soldiers have a knowledge of the submarine's fate. May the souls of the Dakar's dead rest in peace. Amen.

I think I would have to agree with you. The families of those who died have suffered for too long. The reasons no longer matter. In fact, my husband lost many of his friends and his commanding officer on the Dakar. He had finished his submarine service and his commanding officer tried to convince him to re-enlist, but he wanted to go to school instead. If not for that, he would have been among those men who perished.
