1. No, this is not Anti-Semitic!!!
daniel ,   amsterdam   (07.06.05)
It may be stupid, ignorant, dumb or dangerous but it's not anti-semitic. If you say that you give these people an excuse. They can ignore our rational arguments because they will say that we smear anti-semitism on anyone who doesn't agree with us. But that's not the case. We are the minority here, we only survive because we are economicaly stronger, because we can occupy them and they can't occupy us. A boycott's aim is to destroy this strenght. It's like selling tanks and F16's to Palestinians as if that will bring peace. Only by being stronger than the Arabs can we make peace. The war rages on because they see our weaknesses, that's the only reason. Increasing those weaknesses by boycotting us will make more people believe that there really is a chance to destroy Israel. You know what that means...more war....the fools.
2. Racial separation walls destroy lives
Ahmad ,   Jerusalem   (07.06.05)
The Israeli racial separation wall is being built on confiscated Palestinian land depriving thousands from their homes and sources of living. It is another method of ethinic cleansing of the Palestinian people. The UCC'S STAND should be a model for movement against the inhuman practices of the Israeli occupation authorities.
3. Econ pressure
Hilda ,   USA   (07.06.05)
What hypocrsy. push for peace indeed. All it is is a blantant display of antisemitism. No regard for Jewish lives. It's making concessions to Islam. It won;t help. First comes the Saturday people, then the Sunday.
4. Gladly the U "C" of God does NOT....
Ruth ,   HaSharon   (07.06.05)
... represent all Christians! There are Christians who actually are VERY supportive of Israel's DEFENCE fence. There many more REAL Christians who actually condemn any act against Israel.... We should be aware of that.
5. To Ahmad (2)
Shai ,   Israel   (07.06.05)
"Destroys lives"? No, more like "saves lives". Yes, small worth it is to you and the UCC when those lives belong to Jews. Stop with the histrionics. The fence hasn't ethnically cleansed anyone, and calling it a "racial separation wall" shows how you play at diplomacy. You're always trying to score points. If you were as concerned about peace as you were with your bumpersticker politics, you'd be in a Palestinian state by now, living in peace side by side with Israel. But since you didn't choose that path, if your sources of making a living have been impacted, you should be recompensed with money of equal worth. Beyond that, get screwed. I'm not apologizing for taking measures that save Jewish lives, even if the quality of Palestinian lives is impacted in ways they think are unacceptable. If you wanted a different situation, if you want a different situation, you'd be behaving differently.
6. Palestinians want peace
Chrisona ,   Chicago.IL   (07.06.05)
"The wall has devastating effects on the lives and livelihoods of Palestinians," Makari said. "It prevents the opportunity for interaction for people who desperately want there to be peace." Incredible statement. To the Palestinians, peace means the right to kill Israelis. On that basis, by all means, pull down the security wall. Nobody has a right to come between a terrorist and his victim pool.
7. Every Group Beats on Jews Now Gays Too
akiva ,   chicago, il   (07.06.05)
Mighty White of You. You have more freedom than you ever have before. Thanks to all of the Jews out there who helped all of these folks get strong enough to join the ranks of antisemitism.
8. THE "CHRISTIANS" WHO BETRAY JESUS CHRIST
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (07.06.05)
There NEVER was an Arab country of Palestine. Jerusalem NEVER was the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Jerusalem is mentioned OVER 800 TIMES in the Bible, not once in the Koran. Once again, apostate Christian leaders make Christianity appear ugly, evil and satanic. If Jesus lived now, from the time he was in his mother's womb he would be targeted for murder by the Islamofascists for being a Jew living in his homeland of Israel. The terrorist murderers of the 8 months pregnant Jewish Gaza mother and four little daughters were hailed as heroes by the Palestinian Authority. Every time Jews, the JEWISH BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF JESUS, are murdered by Islamist homicide bombers, PA society Muslims celebrate in the streets by the THOUSANDS. The Palestinian Authority teach the murder of Jews- THE JEWISH BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF JESUS, as a religious obligation through their mosques, media and public education system. In the Islamic invasion and filthy desecration of Church of Nativity, Jesus Christ' birthplace, Muslims tore up Bibles for toilet paper. It was an act against Israel's G-D - Creator of the universe. A very great sin. In those Bibles were the laws G-D gave to Moses. Some of those laws: "You shall have no other gods before Me" "You shall not make for youself an idol" "You shall not murder" "You shall not commit adultery" "You shall not steal" "You shall not bear false witness" "You shall not covet" The jihad in Sudan has left over 2 million Christians dead, including Animists. Hundreds of thousands of Christians have been taken for slaves by Sudan's Muslims. What actions have these Church leaders taken? worldnetdaily.com June 11 2005 'Nigeria's war on Christians' 'Islamic law brings death, suffering to non-Muslims' "More than 10,000 Christians have been killed since 1999, the year Islamic "Sharia law" was introduced in Nigeria. Nearly j,000 homes and churches have been burned down by Muslim radicals-with a wink and a nod from a GOVERNMENT THAT DOESN'T RECEOGNIZE THE RIGHTS OF NON-MUSLIMS." What are these church leaders doing about this??? This is the "peace" Makari refers to: Poll by Palestinian Center for Public Opinion, Public Opinion Research of Israel and Palestinian Media Watch,( Jerusalem Post, Oct 22 2003) found: "59% of Palestinian Arabs believe that Hamas and Islamic Jihad should continue their violence against Israel, even if Israel surrenders all of Judea, Samaria, Gaza and eastern Jerusalem."
9. BETRAYING PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS OF THE PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (07.06.05)
Why are these church leaders who claim to be Christians, silent about the persecuted Christians of the Palestinian Authority? The following is part of a long article, frontpagemag.com March 16 2004, 'The Beleaguered Christians of the Palestinian Authority', by David Raab: "...recent violence in 2000, Muslim Palestinians attacked Christians in Gaza, as confirmed by Fr. Raed Abusahlia, chancellor of the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem.55 Anti-Christian graffiti is not uncommon in Bethlehem and neighboring Beit Sahur, proclaiming: "First the Saturday people (the Jews), then the Sunday people (the Christians)."56 The same has often been heard chanted during anti-Israel PLO/PA rallies. Accused of wearing "permissive" Western clothing, Bethlehem Christian women have been intimidated. Finally, rape and abduction of Christian women is also reported to have occurred frequently (especially in Beit Sahur), as was the case in Lebanon.57 Christian cemeteries have been defaced, monasteries have had their telephone lines cut, and there have been break-ins at convents.58 In July 1994, the Wall Street Journal reported that Palestinian Muslims would not sell land to Christians and that Christian facilities and clubs had been attacked by Muslim extremists. Christian graves, crosses, and statues had been desecrated; Christians had suffered physical abuse, beatings, and Molotov cocktail attacks.59..."
10. racial separation wall
cliff from montreal ,   Canada   (07.06.05)
yeah.It may be a wall but it ain't 'racial', however it does separate the sheep from the terrorist pali wolves. For a true view of 'racial apartheid wall' go to fraudi arabia. There you can see a real primitive society celebrating in child abuse and slavery! Israel is a shining beacon of light and freedom compared to you troglodyte supporters of the death manual.
11. Real Christians support Israel!
Daisy ,   USA   (07.06.05)
12. UCC misled....
Arie   (07.07.05)
It is sad to see a "church denomination" be anti-Israel. God spoke to Abraham: "I will bless him who blesses you, and curse him that curses you......" How far can a "church" steep? If they profess Jesus their (Jewish) Messiah, how can they escape G-d's wrath being anti-Israel? For being anti-Israel is like being anti-G-d of Israel, and therefore his curse be upon them. It looks to me that most of the mainline protestand denominations are ready to serve the anti-Christ along with the world council of churches. A sad story indeed.......
13. REAL CHRISTIANS love everyone
(07.07.05)
and forgive people. Remember Jesus thought the Jews were totally screwing up and he died for theirs and everyones sins. I am sure if Jesus was around today, saying what he did to the JEWS in Jerusalem- he would have been called an ANTI SEMITE . But he was JUST TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND LEAD JEWS out of their hole.
14. 6000,000 is not enough
Ignatious ,   US   (07.07.05)
Of Course the United Church of Christ objects to the Security Wall because it saves Jewish lives. That there would be no need for the barrier (if the Palestinians would stop the terror and incitement against Israeli citizens, crack-down ot the terror groups and negotiate a fair settlement) means nothing to those Jew-haters of the United Church of Christ. Interestingly, some of the responders to the article show their true feelings in their writing. Some do not consider anything done against Jews to be evidence of antisemitism short of the gas chambers and ovens. Others lie that the Wall is evidence of racial separation and it destroys lives. Exactly which races are separated? If the goal is racial separation, the Israelis could learn much from other Arab Countries that do not allow Jews--period and the benevolent ancesters of the Church of Christ who loved walls--as long as it kept Jews apart from Christians.
