The blood of of Israeli soldiers spilled in order to further the lunatic territorial ambitions of Marmelstein's grandpa is no cheaper than the blood of Gush Katif Jews.
2. Grandpa's Despair

I feel very sorry for all of you who have to move from your homes - but, Gaza is not Israel - it never was!
3. Various Why's, various answers

Renana Why don't we go into Gaza and impose some order you ask? Well we could do it but it costs too many lives. Moreover the quiet won't last so it's simply not worth it. What's the job of the Amy you ask? The job of the army is not to protect the integrety of Eretz Israel but of Medinat Israel. The Palestinians of Gaza are a demographic threat to Medinat Israel so that's why we are leaving. After the decision was taken to leave Gaza it would have been best for the Israeli citizens in Gush Katif to leave aswel and soon as possible. Retreats are not pretty and the enemy usually takes advantage. Remember Lebanon, remember how the SLA suddenly collapsed? Just like in Lebanon the situation might radically change within a very short time. So if you do not want to feel abandoned, leave Gaza before all hell breaks loose. You are upset over what happened at Kfar Maimon. I promise you, most people are also upset but for other reasons. Many journalists were predicting clashes between settlers and soldiers, a wishful thinking of somesort. I trusted that it wouldn't happen and I am very proud of both our soldiers and our religous Zionists that everything was peaceful. You complain that our army uses rimoney helem (those ear-splitting noise makers). It's right that we do not use them against Arab terrorists because we are at war with them and we are not at war with you. It's no use to make your enemy deaf, you need to kill him. We'll use the non-lethal stuf on you and leave the missiles and tanks for the terrorists. Ok? Do you know that Israel -and most countries actually- oblige a citizen to identify his or herself. So if you are 30 km from the Gush or hanging around in Tel Aviv doesn't really matter. When an officer of the law asks for your ID, do him a favor and identify yourself. Anyway we are not spitting in the face of your grandfather. Remaining in Gaza and destroying the dream of our fathers, that would be spitting in his face.

5. BEFORE 1948, JEWS WERE THE ONES WHO WERE PALESTINIANS!
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (07.28.05)
There NEVER was an Arab country of Palestine. Jerusalem was NEVER the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. JERUSALEM IS MENTIONED OVER 800 TIMES IN THE BIBLE, not once in the Koran. Arabs FIRST took the name “Palestinians” in 1967. Arafat was the FIRST leader of this NEW PEOPLE. Before 1948, Jews were known as the Palestinians! The Jewish newspaper, the Jerusalem Post was called the Palestinian Post. After the Jews miraculously transformed desert and swamps into rich, agricultural land (for which Jews are world famous!) Arabs came in large numbers from Arab countries for jobs from the Jews. The fact that the overwhelming majority of Arabs resided only briefly in Palestine is attested to by the special UN decree: that any Arab who had resided in Palestine FOR ONLY TWO YEARS BEFORE 1948, and then left, would be considered a refugee and so would his descendants!!! On March 31, 1977, Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein: “The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”
6. THERE NEVER WAS AN ARAB COUNTRY OF PALESTINE
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (07.28.05)
Jerusalem was NEVER the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. JERUSALEM IS MENTIONED OVER 800 TIMES IN THE BIBLE, not once in the Koran. Around 1948, Arabs violently ETHNICALLY CLEANSED about one million Jews from Arab countries. Arab governments seized the land, homes, bank accounts, businesses and assets of the Jews. Most of the Jewish refugees fled to Israel. THERE MUST NOW BE A JUST SETTLEMENT FOR THE JEWISH REFUGEES AND THEIR DESCENDANTS- COMPENSATION IN LAND AND FINANCES. In 1922, Britain illegally gave MOST OF PALESTINE-80% TO THE ARABS. The area became Jordan, giving the Arabs an Arab Palestinian state on JEWISH land. IT WAS ETHNICALLY CLEANSED OF JEWS. This area is part of ancient, Biblical Israel, and along with present-day Israel, including Judea, Samaria, Gaza and the Golan was recognized by the League of Nations as the Jewish homeland. In 1948, Egypt invaded Gaza and ethnically cleansed ALL Jews. In 1948, Jordan invaded Judea-Samaria (West Bank) and east Jerusalem and ETHNICALLY CLEANSED ALL JEWS. Jordan, opposing G-D DESTROYED 58 synagogues in Jerusalem. In 1967 when Israel won Islam's religious war of aggression against it, Jews returned to the areas of their homeland they had been ethnically cleansed from for 19 years. Islamofascists DECEITFULLY call this return "occupation". Under international law, territories are considered "occupied" only when taken in an act of aggression which does not apply to Israel. Judea, Samaria and Gaza are not 'occupied territories' according to international law because they were not taken from any foreign sovereign. ALL of the Jewish land, homes, properties and businesses stolen from the Jews in the 1948 Islamic invasion must be returned to the Jews IMMEDIATELY.
7. Gaza was always Jewish
Yisraeli   (07.28.05)
Gaza was always Jewish land, just because Ros #2 obviously doesnt know his/her history Im not here to educate him/her, but go research yourself. Gaza has more rights to be titled Jewish land then even Tel Aviv. But its ok your not alone in your ignorance alas half the country is ignorant even of theyre own heritage and because so you will soon find yourselves expelled from everywhere because your a jew with no roots. The land will 'vomit' out those residents who have no belief in her. Renana my Jewish heart and soul is with you. A time of reckoning will come the only question is at what cost to those who are truly innocent. Never mind the guilty for they will deserve their just deserts. And believe me that day is ever drawing nearer. This whole episode was divined to make the Jew choose, you know the choices you made and soon you will have to pay the piper if you chose wrongly. Its coming - big time.
8. gross racism
Dave Oppenheim ,   San Diego, USA   (07.28.05)
Renana, your choice of language embarrasses me as a Jew. You say "the Arabs" over and over again as this gross generalization for everything that is negative. You belittle Condoleeza Rice as some "Shiksa" Pro or Anti disengagement, the attitude you portray in this essay reflects terribly on you, and unfortunately, me and other Jews as well.

so now that we read the real truth, what difference does it make when the plague of jewish cowardice is destroying our people? who among us has the courage to stand up to the muslamo-nazis before they exterminate every last jew on this planet (as their holy book and civil laws mandate)? of course, we could escape this ultimate holocaust if we would only forsake our judaism and embrace the koran, shariia law, and allah!!! otherwise, we jews are doomed to annihilation. DO YOU EVEN CARE??? DO YOU CARE ENOUGH TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE???
11. The fervently religious are easily led by false messiahs
Eli Vardi ,   Israel   (08.02.05)
It's a terrible thing that we are seeing in the last few weeks. We are seeing the same cynical use of children that we have seen for years with the Palestinians. This is what we have allowed to fester and grow in our country. How long will it be before we see Police raids on fanatical Yeshivot and Midrashot in Israel? We are seeing a new type of fanatical, radical, Jewish movement that puts it's own purposes before the State of Israel. Unfortunately these people are supported by naive religious Zionists who see it as an attack on their religious Zionism. It's not and it's not religious Zionism. Real Zionists would have gone to LIVE in Sderot and Ofakim, not to visit. Why are these towns Ghost towns? Because their budgets have gone to Gaza settlements ! It's a group of Fanatical Rabbi's preaching a new philosophy of Jewish fundamentalism that will demand a Fundamental Jewish state, on parallel to Iran. It's a sad fact that in long, ongoing conflicts, each side usually ends up copying the enemies tactics and morals descend to the lowest level. That's why we have to isolate ourselves from the Palestinian Arabs, and get closer to Europe and the USA. We are slowly sinking into the moral quagmire of the Middle East.
