I watched the evening news tonight on Israel television. All the reporters and news anchors called the soldier, who had killed the Arab bus passangers, a murderer. On the other hand, when a Palestinian kills Israelis in a suicide terror attack, the Plestinian media regards him as a "Shahid" (martyr). But I assum this of a trivial point to Isarel's bashers.

It is a terrible thing when one human decides to take the life of another, particularly for the sake that they were riding the bus. Having seen countless acts of terrorism over the last five years on Israel by the so called "Palestinians," it was probably only a matter of time before something like this occurred. As a person who loves and supports Israel, I will not apologize and try to justify the attack however. Such a disdain for human life is dispicable, no matter who commits it, Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist or Jew.

Working as a photojournalist I happened to be at the scene where 2 palestinians and a chinaman were killed by a kassam in Gaza and 5 palestinians wounded. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility - BUT NEVER APOLOGISED TO THE PALESTINIANS WHO WERE KILLED. The MK is the same. He plays the voting game. in the not-so-good old days some jews and some arabs alike worked together in the same political party to improve the common infrastructure. there will be no better or effective model until civil responsibility filters down from leaders who will say "i am responsible"

I'm not envious of the Arab record on terrorism, whether those who commit terrorist acts are crazy or coddled by a culture, and I sure as hell am not proud of having a Jew commit an act like this. I don't consider him to be representing me, my thoughts, my state, nor the culture of my people. His act was one of savagery and he's deeply embarrassed us all, and deepened the rifts between secular and religious Israelis, and between Jewish and Arab Israelis. It was a chilul Hashem of the deepest, most destructive sort. No human being should have the right to decide that non-combatants are worthy of death simply because they are not like him or don't think like him. Those who think they can, are not human beings, they are animals. As far as the Arab reaction, especially the Druze reaction, I don't understand it. Druze are loyal citizens of this state, I think most people recognize that and I thought they did, too. That they would feel that they need to distance themselves from the state over this, that this is indicative of a deeper animus of Jews against Druze, is a tragedy for both of us. No one who shows the loyalty they have deserves to feel that way. Regarding people like Tibi, Barakeh and those who feel the way they do, I think they have good reason to feel Israelis don't trust them. They are a thorn in our eye, they do nothing all day but pick at our wounds and undermine us. People like them have caused the deepening distrust between Arab Israelis and Jewish Israelis that they claim is behind this incident, and Arabs who want to see this feeling recede should first select other people to represent them. I imagine this incident suits these MK's fine, then, because now they can pry open a rift that is even deeper and cleaner, only to blame the next tragedy upon Israeli Arabs in another 5 or 10 years, while 100's of Jews succumb to terrorism, on "Jewish racism" while they nod in understanding over the "frustration that caused it". No terrorists deserve understanding. None. Not Jewish ones, not Arab ones, none. No exceptions. In the end, the trend is clear. Eventually Arabs like Berakeh and Tibi and Jews who are Israeli will find it necessary to part ways. Arabs who can, those along the seam line between an Arab Palestinian state and Israel, will become Palestinians as the boundary line is redrawn to include them in Palestine and exclude them from Israel. I can't imagine how anything else can be possible, the distrust they have of the State of Israel is so deep, and the feeling has become so mutual. I don't think it makes a difference anymore whose fault it is. It's time to pick up the pieces and move on, salvaging what we can. We need to make our peace with the Druze, who are loyal and fine citizens of the state, and make our parting with the Palestinians among us.
