2. Absolute Disgrace!!
Every single individual in this country whether they support or are against what is happening should at least feel for the suffering of those losing their homes. Anyone who is to busy or claims they don't care should be ashamed----they are cold hearted!!!!!!!!!!!

3. Tel Aviv Shenkin Disease
you couldnt care less right? dont worry soon you will when kassams and katushas will rain on TA and piguim kol yom right where you sipping latte you suddenly will care, but guess what I equally care little for what will befall you, your basically contemptible and hardly worth saving.

4. Saddened
For all of the people who don't care and can't empathize with the settlers, I am very sad for you because this is just the beginning. Now Israel has buckled to terrorism, it will only get worse and they (the terrorists) will not rest until Israel is completely extenguished. Please, if you don't believe me just take a look at the PLO patch sometime. This is not the end but the beginning, giving up your land is not the way to bring about peace.

7. Think before you write!!!!
Apathy and hatred on both sides of the spectrum
Might be even worse then disengagement. We are all one people
we have enough enemies we don't need war and hatred amongst ourselvs.
I have no question that we are all going to see the tragedy of this expulsion, read and listen to what PLO HAmas and all the rest of the terrorist have in mind and that will wake up a lot of people. But please lets not wish any one harm whether a lefty a righty we are all jews. Remember Sinas Chinom brought the churban.

8. Uninterested?
Are these Tel Avivians living in the same country or even the same planet as the rest of the Jewish nation? Do they not realize that chopping off an arm affects the entire body? If they have so little interest in their fellow Jew, why are they even living in Israel? They might as well be living on the moon!

10. The Height of Apathy
I could hardly believe what I was reading. I don't think I've ever known an Israeli who said they didn't watch the news and didn't really care what was happening regardless of the issue. In a country like Israel which is under an existential threat, nobody living there can afford to say they're not interested in what's on the news because they have "their own problems."

12. Tel Avivians unmoved
During the 1st. Gulf War ,after the few Skuds that fell on Tel Aviv, there was a nightly exodus from Tel Aviv to surrounding towns and settlements This time they won't be welcome. This time after massive rocket attacks on Tel Aviv, should I feel pity.?When I will see on Television mass graves being dug in Yarkon Park. Should I feel pity? The surveyors have already been working in YarKon Park.

15. It's not 1939 or Tisha B'Av
The WW2, Holocaust and Destruction of the Temple analogies represent hysteria and emotional blackmail. Give the soldiers a guilt trip for obeying the law? SHAME ON YOU.
Israel is not Poland in 1939; it is the strongest country in the region, and will only become stronger in the long run by doing what it needs to do. And the disengagement from Gaza is neither the end of the world nor in any way the same as the destruction of the Temple.
What's sad is that some people are so lost to reason that they cannot or will not distinguish between being required to return to Israel, on the one hand, and being loaded into trains for Auschwitz on the other.
Regarding the article, it's absolutely ridiculous for anyone in Israel not to know what's going on. How out of touch can these young people possibly be? That's the saddest thing I've heard yet.
It's apparent that some calm people support the government against anarchy and don't agree with the settlers' hystrionic attempts to ram their policies through at the expense of government, IDF and the welfare of Israel. And for this you demonize them? Will you laugh at the next suicide bomb? Will you say "I told you so"? That, my friends, is a much more repellant attitude than anything the blue crowd are quietly saying.

16. disengagement
This is one of the biggest wrongs, evil I coulde remember. For one, they ar e not settlers, they are citizens. Why is is no one concerned with their human rights? They have to be evicted? What wrong have they done? This is Israel's land not occupied as the media says. It is as much occupied as Tel-Aviv or Jerusalem is occupied. Furthermore, whatr idiotic plan is it? They are being fired on daily, lives maimed, citizens killed - and the government says well o.k. here is back the land. Its insane. Simply, you are not only rewarding terror and violence- but you are showing the Arabs- You are afraid. It has never worked- with Ozlo and other agreements- In the past history it was our enemy that took our land and businesses- now its our own people. When will one leader stand up and say NO> No, we are not running, NO we are not moving one inch NO. If you fire a rocket at us - we will fire two back. We will bring peace - but if our peace is not respected then your violence will be finished and not by our recapitulating backwards, But, by standing strong. When will that happen - we will have peace - first with ourselves- and the nwith our neoghbors and enemies.

17. Israeli's can not be so short sighted!!
Am I missing something here?? There is an axiom, articulated as a joke in Diaspora Jewry, which outlines the ambience of Israeli society; “Silly Arabs… Leave the Jews alone… They’ll destroy themselves!!” As I glance through the Talkbacks and read this article, and watch the behaviour of individuals, ‘Orange’ and ‘Blue’, over the past several months, this axiom seems affirmed!! The Hebrew idiom (I don’t actually know it in Hebrew, sorry) as translated to “This country eats its people!!” seems to hold true… but let us consider the converse to also be true and accept Israelis also eat their country; in fact, they are pompous and boast about how they screwed the system… I think it has something to do with being viewed as a frier!!
Israeli's, as per my acumen, do not consider how others think or feel. If they did they would not treat each other the way they do!! Self absorbed attitudes behind the wheel; your honking does not help… I too, see the light is changing to green; they would not obstruct the passage of a Mogen David Adom vehicle at the Ra’anana summit intersection citing “I’m in a hurry too”; they would not indiscriminately walk to the front of the queue at the "Ministry" office to demand, for their own needs; they would not proceed to the teller at the bank or post office, without queuing up, and insist upon instantaneous attention; they would not put their cart in line at the Mega and vanish for 15 minutes to finish shopping as a crowd of others wait!!
This country has extraordinary potential for economic and social development!!! This is the information age!!! There is more intellect here, per capita, than perhaps anywhere else on the planet!!! We have the potential to be one of the wealthiest nations ever, but we hate each other!! We generate Hi-Tech marvels and abort them as soon as some “Western” company offers us an adequate amount to keep our own personal issues in hand!! We tolerate a political system which perpetuates itself in an almost fascist context where there is no legitimate representation of the populace!! And we permit the proviso of ‘Who you know’ to dictate the level of an individual’s success within the economic function!!
I am so weary of listening to this crap!! Take responsibility… Israeli’s are self oriented, inattentive, selfish, egocentric, tactless, inconsiderate individuals; it seems, this is about the only western attribute we have really taken hold of!! The time has come to either crap or get off the pot!! And this pertains to every person here as well as the political parties!! Things need to change BIG!!!!! If not… marriage will persist in its disintegration; random sexual escapades will continue to flourish; quality of life will depreciate; economic function will evaporate; social and cultural development will cease to exist; and Israel will remain a second class democracy and a tourist attraction for those wanting to get laid!!

18. Sip Your Lattes, The Coastal Cities Are Next On The Jihad
They can sip all latte they want. But when the Kassams start hitting the coastal cities they will sit up and take notice. Remember what the Arab nazi enemies have been vociferously procaliming - they will "export" all the Gaza weaponry to Judea and Samaria, and will unleash a barrage of extended rockets straight to the heartland.
The "leadership" better pay attention. The Arabs mean what they say, unlike Israel's leaders.

19. Settlers not at fault here!
The settlers were encouraged to settle by our government! They are well intentioned, hard working people who believe in the sanctity of the land. They have sacrificed a lot to reach the point of comfort. Having spent many years living in the settlements it is only logical they would feel it is their home. It is sad to see that fellow jews do not appreciate what these settlers sacrificed for the benefit of their fellow jews. Ok, so the government has now changed its mind, right or wrong, and wants to give this land away. Don't these settlers deserve simpathy from fellow jews? Don't people understand what it means to be uprooted from an environment one has spent blood and tears to build? It is shame that time and again jews demonstrate a lack of unity and outright blind self interest. These short sighted jews will not be spared harm by our enemies. Get a grip, have a heart, unity is the only option if Israel is to be strong!

21. Adina in Nuuu Joisy
you don't live in Tel Aviv so keep your racist, paranoid opinion to yourself.
And while you, and all the other Tel aviv-bashers are at it, do a online search and count how many of the victims of Intefada [Part II] came from Tel Aviv and how many from the Gush.

22. Good points there, Sam
Welcome to Israel... Is this your first month here? Your wonderfully detailed laments (to which, though pro-disengagement and part-time Tel-Avivan, I subscribe) are so reminiscent of the ones that flooded every Russian language Israeli newspaper 15 to 10 years ago. And back in the Galoot we thought all Jews were nice and clean-shaven...
Oh well. I guess we had enough time to get over it. Still, nothing has changed. It got worse. No point in further descriptions - your talkbalk really deserves to be translated and posted on the Hebrew section. Large print. Maybe even Opinion-wise. YNET - take responsibility...
