1. THIS PRECIOUS WOMAN DIED FIGHTING FOR HUMAN RIGHTS FOR JEWS
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (08.26.05)
Please don't forget the terrible price heartbroken Yelena paid. Jews must have human rights. The right to freedom of speech. Freedom to protest without being beaten and jailed. Freedom to not be cleansed off Jewish land for being a Jew. Total freedom to Jewish holy places. Jews are arrested if they pray or suspected of praying on Judaism’s holiest site - the Temple Mount. Nothing has changed in 2000 years Rights so freely given to others are denied to Jews. . The terrible hate for Jews revealed in ethnic Jew cleansing. The stealing of Jewish land, businesses and assets for people of another religion. The denial of human rights for Jews is the way Jews have always been treated. Intensely pressured by the U.S.EU and UN, Israeli leaders continue 2000 years of evil Jew hate.
2. Linda
(08.26.05)
in the seventies when some palistinians explosed them selfs in the air without hurting any body else to protest aganst beeing occupied by the Jewish , the whole world said those are crazy people , ans now you are defending this woman because she did the same thing , and the humanrights you speake about it's a fake one like you are a fake Christian , humanrights has to be for every human not only for the Israelis , did you once defended the human rights of the Palistinians or you don't concider them as humanbeins ? you are under Jewish controll somehow by washing your brain or by paying you or by scaring you ..... poor one
3. My condolences to the family
New York Gal   (08.26.05)
Very sad indeed. I hope she is at peace now.
4. jews do have human rights LINDA
(08.26.05)
You really are starting to sound crazier and crazier. jews have all the rights that we all have- AND more- they are the ones that are racist5 to the ARABS ,not the other way..
5. Linda, you've done it again.......please stop.
Shlomo ,   Jerusalem   (08.26.05)
"The right to freedom of speech. Freedom to protest without being beaten and jailed. " No body was beaten. Who by? Are you having a go at our Police now? When the world saw and agreed that it was amazing how our Police and Army handled the disengagement, YOU claim they beat people? You have noticed that you are the only one still claiming these lies? Even the Messianic fanatics who gave the genuine settlers such a bad name aren't spouting this garbage. No-one is Homeless, they all have temporary places to go to while permanent solutions are built. Please stop this garbage posting, you are harming relations of Jews with Jews and inciting Hatred. All the Jews are safe in Israel, except for this poor woman who killed herself, which is against Jewish teachings. We don't have martyrs, Suicides can't be buried on Holy ground as we believe that our bodies are on loan from G-d.
6. Suicide is against Halacha - Jewish Law
(08.26.05)
7. Suicide is a cowardly act
Sal Azam ,   Chicago, USA   (08.26.05)
And this is a sign of desperation. Why would someone get her/himself killed for the sake of a piece of foreign land.
8. Woman who set herself on fire dies in hospital
Emile Tubiana ,   Lehigh   (08.26.05)
To number 6 Expulsion of jews by jews is not against halakha?
9. she killed herself that is her problem !!!
Human Being ,   Gaza   (08.26.05)
If she killed herself that is her problem, We can't prevent her from doing that. She was grown woman. Linda .... You make people hate Jews by posting the hate messages. You are harming people more than healing them. You spread hate no forgiveness. I remember one of the talkback states that they turn against Jews because of the web sites Linda refers to in her talkback. So, please quite, nobody needs your opinion.
10. Suicide
Karen Dash   (08.26.05)
Yes, suicide (NOT homicide, as with bombers) is a manifestation of mental illness. When the leftist poet Dalia R. committed suicide last week there was widespread sadness, as there should be. Let there also be mourning for this poor soul, whose fragile heart was broken by her own people.
11. Dalia R did not proclaim to be religious
(08.26.05)
12. #8 So you say if one law is broken we can break them all?
(08.26.05)
We who claim to be religious have to live by our rules, other we have no right to critize others who break them. Suicide is a stonger sin than moving people who have not lost their lives. Jewish life is held sacred.
13. My condolences to the family also.
Ann C. ,   USA   (08.26.05)
14. #12 This poor woman was in a state of deep emotional stress
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (08.26.05)
It is extreme cruelty for anyone to criticize her. My condolences to her family and friends. I do hope the Israeli government have the decency to allow Danielle Weiss to attend her dear friend, Yelena's funeral.
15. 7 sal - ask palestinain terrorists why THEY do it
mike ,   usa   (08.26.05)
you say: "Why would someone get her/himself killed for the sake of a piece of foreign land." the difference is that she did it to herself and didn't try to shred women and children with her.
16. 14 - Linda don't criticize the gov't of Israel, too
(08.26.05)
You have no right to criticize the brave IDF, police, Sharon....When will you stop??????
17. Linda, you aren't critizising Jewish beliefs are you?
(08.26.05)
18. Yelena was deeply religious, suicide is Sin
(08.26.05)
19. Suicide = Burning in Hell!
Abdullah ,   Kuwait City   (08.27.05)
Of course I am sorry for the passing of this lady who committed a suicide! We all know whether you a re Jew, a Christian or a Muslim, we all beleive that those who commit suicide will go to hell! I ask of God to show her mercy.
20. to #1Linda Rivera
Michael ,   Haifa   (08.27.05)
If only you were as serious about your cause as was Yelena....
21. Linda the real Cristian (not true)
(08.27.05)
suicide in all the relegions is unacseptable and against the rulles of God ... no one has the right to kill him self because it's known that the body and the soul belong to God , if you agree with me ... so how come that you call your self a real Christian and you defend this woman now ... you see now ... you are a fake Christian
22. To #16 IDF are EXTEMELY BRAVE; THE HIGHEST ETHICS IN WORLD
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (08.26.05)
I have the deepest admiration and respect for the world-renowned IDF. They have the highest standard of ethics for an army in the entire world. Israel is on the front lines in global jihad. Thank you dear IDF for the occasions you fought against Islamist terrorists. When you fought, you fought for all of us against global jihad. Thank you so much. Thank you so much to the courageous IDF who died defending Jews. Thank you so much to all of the brave IDF - heroes who won every war against multiple state enemies, against impossible odds. The IDF who stood tall and strong at Entebbe.
23. sometimes people are driven too far
hanina ,   Galut   (08.26.05)
If this poor woman was so desperate because her land was given away and she felt she had nothing to live for we should embrace her loss. We should thank Hashem that others didn't follow suit. Anyone who is so passionate about the land of Israel and is so heartbroken at this loss should be treated with dignity.
24. 17 - well, she calls the idf "Ethnic Cleansing Teams"
mike ,   usa   (08.27.05)
hardly a compliment, but then again, she criticizes everything that differs from her narrow belief system.
25. Condoleances to the family...
Yoel ,   Switzerland   (08.27.05)
Why such reactions? As I suffered in the past from severe burns, I cannot agree with many of you. I don't think it's the best way to suicide. Maybe even the worst in terms of hardly suffering. You could notice she died after several days, ... For cynicals saying about sin or cowardly act: You forgot speaking about the cost for the society, because the hospital tried to maintain her alive? She was more human than many, sacrified herself without killing anyone around. I'm so sorry for those who forgot to be sensitive, but my real sorrow and condoleances are for her family who is sad at the moment. People are making their opinion after the consequences of her act, but nobody knows if she hoped to be rapidly rescued by one of the so many people around her. Maybe she just aimed to catch attention, and claimed it as political act , without taking care about consequences. Even tatoo is forbidden by jewish laws, "Kal Vahomer" for severe burns... But I don't know her point of view concerning her aims and expectations. As she cannot express anymore, doubt has to be in her favor, and this is the first rule some should apply. God judges you as you do for others,... Halacha will be told by the Rav who is in charge of her burial ceremony, and I hope he will give contradiction to those who expressed no compassion. (Not for U Linda, I appreciate your comments and sensitivity. Doesn't matter if our opinions don't match every time... ;-)
26. ffenishing the life
majeda ,   khalil   (08.27.05)
in religen suicide is a sin what ever the cause .becouse the religouse person must have patianse in bad and must thank in good .....killing people is a sin also exept in defence against the land the life ...but killing the self and the others to defence ....there is not a clear opinian about this in koran and we agree with it on land if it is the only choise to defence the idf deal with them lastly god deal of all
27. #23 - With the best will in the world, it's still a Sin
Shlomo ,   Jerusalem   (08.27.05)
You can't follow the way of HaShem, and change the rules when it suits you. How ever much we synpathise with ffamily, she professed to follow an orthodox live and claimed the land in the name of her religious beliefs. She then carried out a mortal sin by killing herself. This is someone who worked for the creation of a Jewish Religious State with Torah Law enforced by the State. Halacha ( Jewish Law) applies after death too......
28. A useless death...
Hiram ,   Tel Aviv   (08.27.05)
Yelena died...Oslo or the pain of loosing a dear one ? One will never know. Linda sees her as a hero ? A hero of what ? Life is the most sacred gift from God for those who believe in him....What did she accomplish besides having a few lines on Ynet...? She did choose her end, she is not a hero... I can detect in this act some kind of a revolt against the Oslo process, the same process who will help Israeli citizen finding come kind of peace. Religion can be very dangerous on simple minded people. Zealots may have won some fights in the biblical times, that I do not dispute, but times have changed. Religion should remain religion. No one should die in the name of any God...No one....and Yelena chose delibarately to break the covenant. A death is always a tragedy but this one although regretable will certainly not be a part of the disengagement process...
29.  Let people show MERCY to Yelena.
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (08.27.05)
Taking one's life is not acceptable. How I wish Yelena had never done such a terrible thing! I do not believe Yelena took her life to protest. Yelena was obviously in a state of such deep emotional stress her thoughts became irrational. Her enormous stress over the terrible cruelty of cleansing Jews from the land caused her to pay a terrible price. A price she should not have paid. Yelena will be remembered for ALL OF THE GOOD THINGS SHE DID. Yelena was a loyal citizen. She devoted her life to fighting for the rights of Jews and for Israel. All Yelena's faithful acts are recorded in heaven. I know that G-D is merciful.
30. To #5 Shlomo
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (08.27.05)
Ynet and other news sites reported police brutality against Jewish protesters at protests BEFORE the ethnic Jew cleansing ever began and also reported some police brutality during the cleansing of Jews from the land.
