With respect to your request, Mr. Machover, for an investigation into how Ambassador Mr. Hefetz and the Israeli embassy learned about the warrant against Major General Doron Almog... in order to save the British taxpayer a bit of money, allow me to explain. Well, Mr. Machover this is sort of a no brainer. You got a warrant (a warrant is a document of public record) issued against a foreign national who in all probability holds a diplomatic passport most likely the British Police and MI 5, having read the appropriate sections of the Geneva Conventions, decided that this was just not worth being involved in so they notified the Israelis who in turn either called Major General Doron Almog on his cellular phone or much more likely radioed the plane's pilot who then informed Major General Doron Almog. 3. As to why Major General Doron Almog wasn't arrested -- since clearly you haven't read the appropriate sections of the Geneva Conventions -- haven't you seen the movie "Terminal"? It's explained right there in that movie -- as long as Major General Doron Almog either doesn't get off the plane or alternatively doesn't go through passport control and get his passport stamped -- he is technically not on British soil. If he technically not on British soil he can't be arrested. 4. Further if as I suspect Major General Doron Almog is the holder of a diplomatic passport that diplomatic passport invests him with a little something called diplomatic immunity (please do go and read the appropriate sections of the appropriate Geneva Conventions relating to the use of diplomatic passports and diplomatic immunity). 5. Just for your information on its opening page the Israeli Diplomatic Passport reads: "The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel requests all whom it may concern to allow the bearer of this passport to pass freely without hinderance and to afford the bearer such assistance and protection as may be necessary." I suppose that means that the British Foreign Office decided to grant this request and strongly urged the British Police and the MI 5 to afford Major General Doron Almog afforementioned assistance and protection. I trust that answers your questions. Now, Mr. Machover, I have a few questions for you. 1. Have you just as zealously requested arrests against the individuals who carried out the terrorist attacks against the Israeli Ambassador Shlomo Argov and against the failed terrorist bombing against the Israeli Embassy in London in 1993? 2. Have you surrendered your Israeli citizenship and passport? I ask this question because clearly a person who feels so strongly against the state of Israel as to participate in bringing charges against one of the officers of the Israeli Defense Forces should of course be consistant in all matters and surrender his Israeli citizenship and return his Israeli passport. Knowing the freedom of the judiciary system in Israel, if this group had any ground for their complaint against Almog they should have lodged their complaint in Israel. They chose to do it in England to hurt Israel the most, because they know very well that their complaint is not receivalbe and theat eventually Almog would be cleared by any free court. The article does not mention why Doron Almog arrived in the U.K. Well, he came to raise awareness and money for a charity that works with the disabled. It's clear that Machover doesn't think Israel has the right to defend itself in a war situation and should therefore be branded as a traitor. He should have his Israeli nationality revoked, now that he's living with his friendly anti-Israel community in London. It's the only way to deal with traitors like this - and maybe he can also act in defence of terrorists like Abu Hamza and Mohammed Bakri if he ever wants to return here. You don't even know your facts. The Gaza strip was never occupied. The UN nor Britain ever gave land to the Arabs. Those lands are disputed not occupied. The Arabs have carried that lie for over 50 years. Read your facts. Between 1948 and 1967, Egypt illegally occupied Gaza. As a matter of fact, the PLO charter stated that they have no claim to Gaza nor the West Bank. Their Charter was changed in 1968, after Israel defeated the Arabs in the Six Day War. Why doesn't Israel file a law suit against most of the Arab world and even Europe for the many years of murdering Jews and their forced expulsion from those countries. What about thousands of people that were killed by terrorists. Why not file suit against the Arab countries that started the wars against Israel as well as supported the terrorist groups.
