So much human time and effort has been wasted on religion-based conflicts. It is clear that islam is being aggressively promoted across the world, and being reinforced by fear. When did anyone hear of a Christian terrorist ? The policy of Christians to 'turn the other cheek ' just means weakness to terrorists, and this weakness is then exploited. This, plus our liberal aspirations to freedom of speech in the west , political correctness, positive protection of minority 'communities' , etc., just results in fear for the indigenous people of any country where islam is being promoted. There seems to be a particular underlying agenda to promote islam everywhere, and their 'holy' book seems to be behind this....there are many quotes available that clearly show what the general instructions are. We should be on our guard. Something extremely serious is happening here. To think that the whole movement is based on one human's supposed insight into a non-existent deity seems to me to be utterly ridiclous, and has caused untold harm all across the world. The trouble with islam is that dissidence is not allowed : if anyone inside the religion criticises another muslim , then they are automatically on the side of the 'enemy'. That's the way it works. They cannot speak out, for fear of severe punishments. They HAVE to go along with it....there are probably enough passages in the koran to back this up....I have said for years that if the muslims want to be respected, they have to take action to order the terrorists to STOP what they are doing. But you do NOT hear their leaders openly, publicly ordering all violence to stop. You do NOT hear them saying, if you have a grievance, attend to it peacefully. So as long as we in the west do NOT see and hear their leaders condemning it, what are we to think? I don't really care what silly beliefs people hold IN PRIVATE : the trouble comes when they act them out in public, in other people's countries. In their view, the whole world is up for grabs, that all religions other than islam are false. I say all religions are false, anyway. Some (e.g., buddhism) have some very nice moral teachings on kindness, etc. Buddhism for example seems to understand human psychology better than most other religions, plus a point in their favour is that they don't regard Buddha as a 'god'.
