The UN won't come to Israel rescue once iran develops the bomb. Since when did israel start believing in the UN?
2. DONT let Iran have anything nuclear
Lemar ,   UK   (11.07.05)
If Iran acquires the capacity to make nuclear weapons it will only be time before a terrorist organization uses them. The world would not be dealing with a country as North Korea or Pakistan but a Islamic fundamentalist country who perceived destroying Israel and at the same time also killing millions of Palestinians, and Jordanians is more important than the possibility of Israel counter attacking and nuclear bombing Iran. This is the mentality of Fundamentalist Islam who’s killers will believe each one will have 72 (or more) virgins for their part in the terror.
3. Only a matter of time till the others do too!
Miss Muslima ,   London England UK   (11.07.05)
Of course Israel will not attack Iran! Face reality people! It's only a matter of time, before Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and whoever else want's to join, will become "nuclear powers". Did you really think that they wouldn't? Or that the double standard would hold indefinately/forever? Duhhhhhhhhhhh,
4. Israel's nuclear waste!
Miss Muslima ,   London England UK   (11.07.05)
Can anyone tell me, what does Israel do with her nuclear waste? How is it disposed off? The Negev desert must be contaminated and ummmmm, whatever else ...;)
5. "Strike against Iran not on agenda"
Michael Steiner ,   Bratislava, EU   (11.07.05)
Even I--as a pacifist--say this might not be such a good idea. Iran (the leadership, that is) IS objectively dangerous, unstable and genocidal, and we have to have the option of doing an Osiraq there if required.

8. strike on iran
peter ,   toronto, canada   (11.07.05)
Deception is the name of the game, nobody will give Iran advance warning , it will happen out of the blue
9. clearly Peter is the only 1 awake & paying attention...

the rest of you are just typing faster than your brains are thinking! ;-)
10. ok so here's the scenario...
(11.07.05)
at some given moment Iran will become a nuclear power. They will issue everyone in their country rayban sunglasses...and then they will say..."Ok, citizens of Iran, put on your sunglasses, take three steps back, we are going to blast them!" Like haven't they figured out that if they fire off nuclear weapons and the wind shifts (which it tends to do when nuclear weapons are blasted) like all the nuclear fall out will come right back at them. In other words nuclear weapons are way over done because they cause more harm than good. but then you know that right?!?!
11. Pre-emptive nuclear strike
Shane ,   Leeds, UK   (11.08.05)
There are 3 military options in stopping the Iranians. The first is an airstrike that will not only fail but result in hundreds if not thousands of missiles being lobbed at Dimona - even a succesful strike will see this. Second is a massive ground invasion that will result in the same. The ONLY option is to simply remind the Persians what life was like thousands of years ago. Any other military option is suicide.
