1. To Mrs. Nadia Cohen and her family:
There are many of us who remember your husband's work and how his work in large part was responsible for our resounding success in the Six Day War. My thanks to him and my thanks to you. I am indeed very sorry that you have had to wait all these years for the return of his body.
I trust in G-d that soon very soon he will move the heart of President Assad so that in your lifetime you and your children will be able to visit the Israeli grave "Our Man in Damascus".
May G-d continue to give you strength.

you forgot to thank her and her husband for helping Israel in the six days war to kill over 100,000 Arabs and after for killing the POW's life and for shooting children schools with the rockets and for using the forbiden Napalm in this war .... please write again to her that you don't feel giulty later

don't distort the facts-the Six Day War had very little number of casualties and no napalm was used. The War was won by destroying both Egyptian and Syrian airforce on the ground and by very quick conquest of both Sinai and Golan. There was very little fighting on the west bank where Jordanians mainly fled their positions in masse. So enough of making up lies. You guys lost then big time, and Israel never targeted civilians.

4. To Talkbacks #1,2 &3!
Mr. Cohen didn't initiate the war guys! He was just a faithful servant of his people. All countries have spies allover! It was Nasser of Egypt who started the war when he pushed tens of thousand of Egyptian soldiers towards the Israeli border & manipulated the Syrians to back him up, expressing his intentions of "throwing away Israel into the sea." Also, he order UN peacekeeping forces to vacate & prevented Israeli cargo ships of sailing through Red Sea to suffocate Israeli economy. It was a successful war of survival for Israel accompanied by a big failure of Nasser's top aids to deliver what they promised him to achieve.

"Israel never targeted civilians" !! Are we talking about the same Israel? The state of Israel? If you are referring to Yaccoub (Israel) then I agree, but if you are referring to the state of Israel, then I invite you to come and visit the cemetrey in Westren Gaza and COUNT how many civilians your occupation army has murdered, along with the 100s of 1000s since they breached the hudna in 1948. As for Nadia Cohen, if I were you, I'd give it up, your husband was a terrorist spy, period something like Pollard, but on a more dangerous scale.

7. Cohen remaina
U are totally right Salamah. This guy was a dangerous spy and they should not even handed over his remains to Israel.
|
|
8. Why hold yourself hostage?
While we can sympathize with the need for closure, Syrian demands to release a dozen people in jail for assorted crimes goes against all the laws of justice and decency. Perhaps when they have all passed away in jail there can be a one for one exchange.

9. if the government worked to obtain Tannenbaum's release...
then it should be working night and day in order to insure that Cohen's remains are brought back to Israel.
That this particular government could work without rest to return Tannenbaum and then quietly not bother about the other MIAs and Mr. Cohen then something is greatly amiss.

Israel killed POW'S in 1956 and 1967

11. Eli Cohen!!!
Eli Cohen was an arab before he was jewish or even Israeli. He betrayed his own people. He desreved what he got like any other spies...
|
|
12. To Talkback #11/Yoav
He betrayed no one! Please refer to the following website page: http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/arabs/syriatoc.html
And you'll realize that Syrians were considering him & other Jews spies anyway. Thanks.

13. Yoav #12
Yoav,
You speak from a position of ignorance. My readings about Eli Cohen was that he was born in Syria and that he was a Jewish Arab. End of story. Jewish of Arab birth. You need to understand that Jews are Jews are Jews no matter where they were born. I am the descendant of Holocaust survivors and was born in Canada. Canada is my home my country. But god forbid when the Jew patrols rise up again, they won't consider me a Canadian. I am still a Jew worthy of persecution. Make statements based on fact, not uneducated opinions. Eli Cohen was a brave man who knew the risks and brought so much intelligence to the table he saved thousands of Israeli lives.

14. Mr. Cohen
Mr. Cohen was born in Egypt and then he left to Israel. He went to Syria through South America. He pretends to be a Syrian immigrant coming back to his homeland. He was deputy of the Syrian minister of defense. I think Syria should send his remains back to his family.

15. To Salameh the evil one!
Every time I have the misfortune to read one of your posts I never cease to be amazed at the way you turn everything upside down. The six day war would never had happened had not your arab brethen tried to destroy Israel. When threatened with destruction a country has every right to defence. You are an idiot and you are obviously full of the crap your people brainwash each other with to make yourselves feel better, look around the middle east now who is killing your people? Your own!! So stop trying to justify every one of your evil acts by blaming Israel and producing your twisted fantasies.
