I would like to commend you on the exhibit Breaking the Silence- It is a brave and noble effort to show the dark underbelly of the IDF. I have passed it on to many- Thank God there are some Israelis out there with consience.

One of your junior officers calls you to the tower and informs you there is a suspicious looking girl moving rapidly directly towards your outpost You confirm she has a backpack. You use a speakerphone to call out to her in arabic and hebrew and inform her she is heading toward a restricted area and she should move back and place her backpack on the ground She progresses forward Your position recieves fire from a building about 50 metres behind the girl. You warn the girl again She doesnt stop You have to make a split second decision: either you shoot her or you risk the chance that she is a suicide bomber (and some have been as young as 10 years old) and your men die along with some palestinian civilians I dont envy this officer. Its a ver difficult decision to make. How do you weigh up number of deaths? 1 death vs 10+ deaths (including not only your own men but palestinian bystanders as well) Its not easy. But you have to make a decision in seconds.

once again the israeli court system has aquitted an officer of the idf of murdering a civilian a young girl as a supporter of israel this debases everything that israel should stand for . How does one determine if a person is innocent when 13 year olds are groomed as terrorists? Even now it is competely unclear why the child killed in this case was where she was. There is a great deal of hypocrisy in this case. The officer was charged with shooting what was in fact an already dead person, but was always held blameless for the original decision of using live fire. A very strange thing indeed.

One this that always agravated me were people that sit back in art galleries and salons and criticize the soldiers in the field who stand guard. If she is that concerned let her stand watch. Other wise cut the men a break.

In a conflict where little kids are being used by Palestinian terrorists to carry on a homicide war against Israel, the real tragedy here is that IDFofficers are forced to operationally consider the possiblitly that this girl with a backpack might have a bomb and react for fear for losing their men. The terrorists use kids and the kids pay. No one wins. That, my friends, is the real tragedy.

In the past five years, 118 Israeli children were killed by Palestinians, and 680 Palestinian children were killed by Israelis. and both peoples claim to be children of GOD!!!!

After just one terror attack, the British police had shot an innocent Brazilian man because he didn't respond to their command to stop and headed for the subway, yet, here, you, a Briton, have chutzpah to lecture Israelis, who suffer daily terror attacks, about being trigger happy? Just remember, people living in the glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Before you criticize Israel look to your own country's conduct.

The majority of opinion may not be with you, but that's unimportant. You and your organization please continue to speak out. Israel has descended to a level where it has a complete indifference to humanity other than those who are not Jews. You will stand out and be remembered for your humanity and for your deep moral values for having the courage to follow your conscience.
