You are like the boy who cried wolf. The whole world knows Pals are guilty and how can you expect us to believe you ever when you constantly LIE.
8. this is a very tough call...
Israeli sailor ,   Israel   (12.03.05)
I am a private sailor who was brought up on the firm concept that "the sea is our home and we are all her children" that means that the code of the sea binds us as siblings are bound to assisiting a ship's emergency call -- even if it is the ship of our enemy. But international waters and limits are to be respected by all even by fishing vessels (who under general agreements are given a bit more latitude because they are working/fishing). According to the above article the Israeli Mililtary vessel functioned according to code -- they issued fair warning and only after they were fired upon did they return fire. So we must now wait and see what the investigation information brings. from reading comments on this site patience isn't a virture that any of you hold dear...you are into instant gratification...clearly all of you need to spend a week at sea where you will learn to go no where at great expense very slowly but enjoy every moment of it!
9. Rafah,Gaza Retreat encourages this
Marcel ,   Florida   (12.03.05)
When will Israel wake up and realize that the constant surrender and retreat starting with Barak's IDF retreat from South Lebanon only emboldens the rabid jihad wolves. Now the Rafiah retreat will prove to be the most costly and stupid mistake Israel has made yet. The time to send them ANOTHER message is long overdue.
10. To #1, are you that hateful and blind?
David Landman ,   Natick, USA   (12.03.05)
A so called Palestinian fires on an Israeli ship and the IDF gives a warning? This was a terrorist, plain and simple. Its taught in their schools. They arent taught history. They have no clue what historical Palestine is. They have no clue that Jews are the native people to the area. They have so much hate that they desecrate Judaism's holiest site, the Temple Mount on a daily basis. I used to feel some sympathy for these people, but considering they have terrorists and Holocaust deniers for leaders, prefer to kill Jews over making a better life for their kids, all I feel is you get what you deserve, thats why there will never be a second Arab Palestinian state.
11. Reply to Nabulsi
Kate ,   London   (12.03.05)
Nabulsi writes: "the usual cover up story for the trigger happy fascist members of the Israel army. These IDF suckers are venting their boredom of the sea by killing Palestinian fishermen. " Part of the plan adopted by the Palestinian terror organisations is to throw as much mud as possible at Jewish Israelis knowing that inevitably some of it will stick. It doesn't matter how bizarre the charges or how untruthful, they they are on any given day screaming "apartheid" or "Nazi" or "fascist" (not that they understand what these words actually mean) at the Jewish state. The irony of all this is that with their virulent Jew-hatred, their denial of Jewish reality and history, their Goebbels-like propaganda campaign (see above), and their genocidal homicide bombings (the aim of which is to murder as many Jewish civilians as possible) no people on the face of the earth would feel more at home in Hitler's Germany than the Palestinians.

you are hateful, not him. What about native americans? did you forget about them? oh, i forgot, you killed them all! are you proud of yourself? Are you a native in Iraq and Afghanistan too? I presume you are a native earth inhabitant that have the right to live anywhere, and others of course lose that privilege! Palestinians were for few generations the inhabitants of Palestine, and you were in Europe, USA, and Russia. in World War II you and the British plotted to take their lands. Cheers, It worked. But it doesn't work that way. It will come back to Palestinians. People who lived in Palestine prior to 1948 are Jews who converted to Islam, or Christians who converted, or even did not convert from both religions, this is irrelevant. There is no land for religions. Religions are beliefs, and are not land-bound. But local people are people who were born on the land. Most of Israelis now are, which gives them legitimacy to live on the land, but it does not give the the right to oppress, harrass, or control other local inhabitants, and that is what palestinians want. Recognition as a nation (even if as part of israel), not life in a confined prison-like areas where some people behave as patronisers, governers, or whatever. Why can't a palestinian visit Jerusalem? why? Get real people, wake up !

Anonymous writes: "and the "lost" jew immigrants coming to roost in welfared ISRAEL- from russia, brooklyn and ethiopia are a SCAM>< " Given we Jews are one of the most ancient peoples on the face of the earth and easily the most accomplished, the world could well do with far more scams like us. And as for "welfared", given that Jews create much of what is American wealth and culture in the first place, what the US gives the Jewish state is actually a real pittance.

Thank you very much for proving all my points in my "Reply to Nabulsi" so very well. You Palestinians are nothing if not predictable. As a matter of fact , we Jews are a very ancient people which is only partly defined by religion. On the other hand, you Palestinians are nothing but a fraudulent construct created by terror organisations in order to give some sort of rationale for attempting to destroy the Jewish state. If "Palestinians" have homes anywhere, they are, for the most part, in those countries they originally came from before they were attracted to the area by the wealth created by the Jewish people.
18. To 12
Shai ,   Israel   (12.03.05)
A few responses: 1) The Palestinians want not only recognition, but a state. Instead of becoming "recognized" groups within the states of Egypt and Jordan, they want sovereignty. Yet, absolutely every opportunity they get to show they can handle sovereignty, and be a state, is lost on them. They still haven't formed a single militia, the only politician who supports a peaceful settlement with Israel (Abbas) has allowed his political power to whither away for fear he might offend someone by actually leading like a state's leader, and basically all most of it's people really want is some way to make it through each day and survive. So, my question is why do you need a state, when you can survive quite nicely as part of one of the two other Arab states bordering your territory? 2) As far as a Palestinian visiting Jerusalem, why can't a Jew visit Schem? Why can't a Jew attend religious services on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem or in Maarat Hamachpelah in Hevron? Why in an eventual political settlement do Palestinians insist that all Pal territories be emptied of their Jewish populations, when no such reciprocal demand is made by Israelis? And why did all Palestinians HAVE this free access to Jerusalem BEFORE the intifadeh? Answer: Palestinians accuse Jews of the hate they themselves are guilty of when they refuse Jews the access they say they want to Jerusalem. Yet, the only reason they are refused access to Jerusalem, and only then due to their security profile, is that Israel has learned that there are very many Palestinians who wish to use their access to Jerusalem to cause Jews harm. That's not "patronizing", noname, that's proving that we DID WAKE UP! We are protecting ourselves. Lastly, I don't accept that "people who lived in Palestine prior to 1948 are Jews who converted to Islam" without real proof, and not theories. Care to offer any up?

Rhonda   (12.03.05)
Why did the 'innocent' fisherman open fire on the navy boat? Trigger happy Palestinians is more the word. What could a fisherman possibly shoot at in the open sea - a sea monster out to eat him up. When will people learn that they must respect international territory including territorial waters?

yup I guess we will get the zionist report of Palestinian crimes, but its a poinless task to argue against it, Instead lets make for the coast of peace, murdering Palestinian fishermen is not going to help in the quest for peace

23. A lot of hypocrisy
Tom Loomis ,   USA   (12.04.05)
I tend to see things the way #18 does. Palestinians (not all, of course) would have much better lives if they stopped the terrorist acts. I am neither Jewish nor Palestinian (I'm athiest), so I don't really see myself as having a bias one way or the other in the Isreali/Palestinian conflict that has been ongoing for what seems like forever now. That being said, I just can't help but to feel sympathy for what Isreal has to go through day in and day out. It seems like no matter how many concessions they make that there is always another rocket attack, or another bombing, etc. It almost seems like a catch-22 in that Isreal can't have peace unless they make some concessions to the Palestinians, yet the Palestinians keep up the attacks because they never would have gotten the concessions without them. As far as this story is concerned, if I were in that fishing boat and a patrol ship warned me that I was in their national waters, I would turn around. Plain and simple. I would NOT fire at them. I mean, this is so stupid isn't it? Besides, if you think that the fishing boat posed no threat to the Isreali vessel, then consider what happened to the US-Cole a while back. To #12, We did not kill all Native Americans - that's ignorant. True, what happened to them may not have been right, but they were forced to either integrate with US society (i.e. not attack other citizens), or live on reservations where they had freedoms to live the way they wanted. If they would have continued to attack US citizens the way the Palestinians do to Isrealis, they would have lost all their reservations too. Instead they lived for improving their lives and today are doing well. And, no Americans are native, or any one nationality (one of my great great great grandmothers was Ogala Sioux). To #16, That's a rather arrogant and unappreciative viewpoint. It doesn't seem like Isreal has many other supporters in the world, and yet if you feel as though the US owes you it's support, then maybe you don't really deserve it.
24. The Truth
tinashkuli   (12.04.05)
The investigations also revealed that before opening fire, the soldiers warned the boat's crew, then fired multiple shots into the air. Despite repeated calls from the navy to stop, the Palestinian ship, designed to carry one or two people, continued on its course. Only then did the navy ship fire towards the ship, killing the man believed to be a fugitive.

26. IDF fires on Palestinian fishing boat
mary hughes ,   Los Angeles   (08.31.09)
I have sailed with the Gaza fishermen. They are not armed. They are not violent. They seek only to catch fish to sell and to feed their families. They are the poorest of the poor. They would never fire on an Israeli gunboat. I have been fired upon by Israeli gunboats. Israel is a predator that needs to be stopped.
