This is something of which I know much about... As here in the UK I was on an anti depressant "EFLEXOR" (which is now Banned in North America) My sex drive became zero... and the effects of Eflexor contributed much I believe towards this.... However ..much more worrying than loss of sex drive was the problem I had with prolonged use of the drug efflexor.... The Net result was that I came within an ace of loosing my life....Im only thankful that the only pemanent damage to my person is some damage to the muscles in my left arm and leg... However I use no drugs at all now either for Depression or any other thing.. I refuse now to take any medication at all for Depression. Llana Masar I recomend Counciling before trying any Medication for the said medical condition. As for my sex drive now... Llana ..Gie me a call sometime.....lol

Im on prozac, remeron and modal forte and i have no problems with orgasms. not at all. ive been on all of the ssri's and the only one i had any problems with was seroxat. If i remember right i think things were also a bit sluggish when i was on wellbutrin (but that is rare for most people) so shop around and try different drugs and combinations. i think also combining with mood stabilizers can help with that (lamictal, topomax..) ask your doctor. no one should have to go without orgasms but if your body needs this kind of medication you need to stay on it.

One must decide which they would prefer, a happy lady on Zoloft who can't climax or a manic depressed lady who can.

I took Seroxat for a few months some years ago; the effect on me was that I could maintain an erection for several hours, but ejaculation was impossible. Fun for my partner for a while but frustrating for me and in the end, she wasn't enjoying it either. I changed the medication. Good luck in finding something, chemical or psychological, that works for you.

11. I lost the ability to orgasm
Matt Dickinson ,   Duluth, USA   (05.12.09)
I'm not sure which drug caused it, but it's a permanent effect. I have been on such drugs as Zyprexa, Wellbutrin, Zoloft and Effexor. It was more likely an anti-psychotic I was on (for treatment of schizophrenia / psychosis) rather than anti-depressant. Talk to you doctor and press him hard for answers, since he is likely under the influence of the pharmaceutical industry to give you pills. Sorry if that sounds like paranoid talk. I think since I've been on the medications (currently on Abilify) I've lost a lot of emotion in me -- although that could be the negative effects of schizophrenia ("blunted affect"), but I also think it was some combination of psychotropic drugs I was on, and this includes the emotion of orgasm. I'm male, and experience everything else, but not the feeling. The same goes for most other kinds of feelings, maybe. Or at least they're dimmer.

On second thought, maybe the lack of emotion is just a matter of being an adult now.
