No Palestinian in his right mind would vote for Fatah. Hopefully Hamas in government will go the way of the IRA in government and maybe we will finally have a partner. The view from the top looks very different from the view from the street and a Hamas in goverment will certainly act differently. How differently we'll see in February. Mike

It's almost comical when a people (fi you believe they really are a people) have a governmental choice between corrupt embezzlers with control over some terror groups vs. homidice bombers and other assorted terrorists. Do I pick the party who might take my $ and bring the IDF to my doorstep, or do I choose the ones with might shoot my family members and might bring the IDF to my doorstep? I almost feel bad for the Palestinians....almost. A vote for Hamas will be the end of negotiations unless there is movement to peace on the Hamas side. Let's just say I'm not buying any stock in that.

I think if Hamas wins and continues on its dirty murderous ways, it will actually serve Israel's immediate interest. Currently, Israel's hands are tied in responding to terror by the US that demands that Israel does not undermine Abbas. If the true terrorists are in power, then perhaps IDF will be able to use its power like it should once and for all. Arabs are bound to destroy us and the only way for us to win is to crush them mersilessly like we always did. The war of attrition that they have gotten us into is not in our interest as it wears Israeli population out and forces its into unilateral concessions that may not be in Israel's best interest. Of course the alternative scenario is that hamas chooses the negotiations path. I highly doubt it-I think it is much more likely we are moving to an Iranian scenario in Gaza and West Bank where the initial democracy will likely lead to Islamic theocracy. Thus, the only way seems to be to deal with them like with any other terrorists-destroy them before they destroy us.
