Two reasons: 1) There is no feasible alternative to Sharon - hence the sense of disaster. 2) The "sacrifice" of the evacuees of Gaza was something the evacuees themselves never accepted until the very last moment - they actually believed Ha-Shem would come down and save them. Their tragedy notwithstanding there are many poor and underpriviliged in Israel (of all faiths inc. Israeli Arab citizens) not just these people.

YOU SHUT UP !!!!! I'm not a pushover Israeli leader who can only say yes to Israel's betrayal. I say NO ! I will not shut up ,not now not ever. There are many ,many dead Israeli's because of the actions of this weak leader . His despicable treatment of those ejected from Gaza as a reward to terrorists has hastened his disengagement from power and is a message to all Israeli leaders who betray the people and the land. By letting the Palestinian terroist's out of prison who kill again, to please foreign interests ,Sharon has innocent blood on his head. I don't wish him ill and I am not his judge but it is clear that his time of appeasment and surrender to evil forces is over. God will be his judge.

I just recited the prayer for those dangerously ill and some Tehillim. I pray he makes it through. No matter the disgreements one has with him or the wrongs of his actions, He has served Am Yisrael in greater ways than most can claim of themselves. If you told me there was a sick person in a hospital who just suffered a stroke, I would certainly reach for my book of Tehillim and pray for him. But we don't see such stories very often on the front page of newspapers. The very reason this article is newsworthy at all is because it was Sharon, the corrupt politician, who was the one who was hospitalized. For that reason and that reason alone, it is certainly appropriate to comment about political issues involving Sharon. The problem is that what he did to the people of Gush Katif is far more than merely a "political issue." There are thousands of Jews still suffering because of the evil decrees of this man, and thus it is entirely appropriate to bring that up in all forums, at least until their suffering is relieved. Thousands of them are still waiting for their first compensation check, and Sharon left them to fend for themselves after having gone on a successful smear campaign which demonized them for months prior. That said, I hope to God that Sharon does not die now, but that he lives to see the destruction and pain and suffering that he caused. I also hope he is well enough to see this all from his jail cell, right next to his corrupt son Omri. May he live a long life far away from politics!

I am against burying Sharon in Jerusalem. This is just too much to be taken. He should be burried in his parents homeland of Russia.
