Just for info: 1. There is a global earthquake monitoring site at http://tsunami.geo.ed.ac.uk/local-bin/quakes/mapscript/home.pl 2. A nice little program called "xearth" is also available as a freeware download from various sites. It gets live global earthquake info off the net and shows the last few days worth as circles on a world map, with each circle circle sized at about the maximum radius at which anyone would really notice the relevant quake. 3. There was a very unusual extremely large quake between New Zealand and Antarctica not long before the big Bay of Bengal tsunami quake a year ago. Since then there has also been the big Kashmire quake. Mixed in there has of course been all the thousands of lesser quakes that go on all the time. Because the global plates are shifting all the time no one can really say for sure what causes anything, but it is possible various geological stresses concentrated to cause the quake near New Zealand and, in turn, because that one was so powerful, it might have set off a little extra plate position shifting that from time to time is finding relief points in less usual places. Trouble is, because it's the sort of thing where a causes b causes c causes d ... it's not a subject where you can point to a calendar and say that's the last day any given quake can eventually lead to anything happening. About the nearest you can get to that is only to say any extremely powerful quake probably terminates any pattern that might have arising from the previous extremely large quake. It's a bit like watching someone else play with a yo-yo. You might start to see patterns of a sort in what they do with the yo-yo, but any prediction of what they'll do with it is really just a lucky guess.

I was voting on the Jerry Jenkins, Left Behind Series myself (I believe they are friends though). But their earthquakes and tribulation has been coming since way back when.. Somewhere along the time line someone is going to have to add up their numbers again. Their estimate of how many years seems to keep changing. But then again they can't even get their Jesus to fit his numbers of when he was supposed to arrive or who is to come before him. Blindly guessing isn't as easy as it looks. :)
