Give him Tibet to rule, and he'll be as bad as any religious leader in charge of a country.
3. Dorothy You are a real freak and stupid

Dorothy is quite right to be suspicious: religious leaders very often turn into little Hitlers the moment they lay their hands on some significant source of power. Nevertheless, we're talking about Buddhism here, which is certainly one of the tamest religions ever invented--indeed, it is a philosophy more than a religion. Monotheistic religions are more problematic, particularly those that also have a missionary (and I'm not talking sex here) element to them, q.v. Xianity and Islam... - which--surprise, surprise--have been responsible for the vast majority of religious conflicts in the history of the last millennium and before. Having said that, the world would be a much better place without any religious leaders period. All the same, barukh haba, Dalay Lama.

I just have this memory of when Shas got into polictics in Israel people said, good, the Sephardim and Mizrachim were so liberal and tolerant it would be nice to have them in the government as opposed to the fundamentalist and intolerant Ashkenasim. Sort of made me suspicious of nice religious chaps. Absolute power corrupts. Absolutely.
9. visit of the dalai...
Esther ,   usa   (01.15.06)
With all due respect, the maker of heaven and earth YHVH Tz vaot is NOT pleased that HIS Beloved should compromise and put themselves in a position to compromise with pagan beliefs. Danger Danger Repentance is in order while there is time for in wrath HE does remember mercy...that's why Yahshuah came! He IS our Salvation. Thank you. SHALOM!
10. Dalai Lama
tibetan ,   tibet   (01.15.06)
you should learn more about the Dalai Lama. Try to be optimistic and appreciate that person who is setting a good example to every human being in this world. So, do not generalize.
11. Most of you
Jane   (01.15.06)
Don't even understand an iota of the Dalai Lama's intention. He has stated clearly his respect and appreciation for the Jewish people's ability to survive and maintain our heritage in the face of exile, persecution and attempted annihilation and hopes to learn how to bring that story of perseverance and hope to the Tibetan people. He is no threat to Judaism.
12. His holiness
Mohammed ,   Ramallah   (01.15.06)
the dalai lama, is a great symbol for peace.. I wish him all the best, and hope that he'll visit Palestine too.

"Dorothy is quite right to be suspicious: religious leaders very often turn into little Hitlers the moment they lay their hands on some significant source of power. " The very biggest criminals have been anti-religious: Hitler and Stalin.
14. To Serene Dalai Lama - Welcome to Israel!

Suzanne Rawlins ,   Lockeford, USS   (01.16.06)
Thank you Mohammed, Ramallah. Yes, H.H. the Dalai Lama is a great symbol for peace. I, too, as do you, wish him all the best. It would be nice if he could also visit Palestine. Peace for all of us, everywhere!
17. HlH. the Dalai Lama
Suzanne Rawlins ,   Lockeford, USA   (01.16.06)
Yes, it would be nice if more people were like H.H. We should ALL be open minded, not just one group or another. Look and see the pain that we all carry . Let us have compassion for one another.
18. H.H. the Dalai Lama
Suzanne Rawlins ,   Lockeford USA   (01.16.06)
Compassion for others has never been a bad thing. There is no pagan here....only a man, who follows his heart and faith and has hope for all mankind.
19. Dalai Lama
Adam ,   Manchester Jew   (01.16.06)
Like 99% of Jews/Israelis, we welcome the Dalai Lam to Israel and appreciate his visit. I dont think that there are many more honours than having the Dalai Lama as a guest. Hopefully Tibet will be free soon so he has a well deserved home for himself and his people. The negativity and mistrust of his holiness, the Dalai Lama, by a few people here are said in ignorance and without any thought!

24. Dalai Lama is an example for all the politicians
Abdi Judit ,   Haifa   (02.12.06)
Hi, Mohammed Ramallah! H.H. the Dalai Lama is really a great symbol for peace. The politicians have to learn from him a lot, what is a simple thing: to thinking peacefully solution everywhere. His Holliness the Dalai Lama will spend time also in Bethlehem. Maybe can You be there. Greetings:Judit
25. Free Palestine, Free Tibet
Ali ,   canada   (02.16.06)
Palestinians deserve their freedom more so than Tibetans! More Palestinians are currently being killed by the Israeli occupation than by the Chiense one. I notice none of you who support a Free Tibet called for a Free Palestine. Are the situations not the same?? The israeli occupation is even less legal! In his visit, I urge the Dalai Lama to call for freedom for Palestinians, who are in the same boat as him, just as for Tibetans.
26. FREE PALESTINE ?
Mati ,   kiryat moshe   (04.06.09)
Free Palestine from imperialist forces such as the US, UN, and Arab League. They have made the Trans-Jordan region of Palestine into an officially Arab kingdom, now it is time for the world to realize that the Jews are fighting the same battle as the Tibetans.
