Iran, publicly and openly declare they want to wipe Israel off the map with their nuclear weapons. Israel does not want to wipe any nation off the map! Minimum Arab territorial demands from Israel would leave Israel indefensible by conventional means. Israel could not absorb an attack and effectively repel it, and indeed, would have no warning of such. Israel, after satisfying the above, would be even more dependent on nuclear weapons for purposes of deterrence and reprisals. Egyptian Arab and Iranian warlords have repeatedly said Israel has "no strategic depth". Egypt's problem is that it harbors a deep desire to launch violence against Israel on a scale that would legitimize the use of ANY available means in response. Mubarak seems to have an obsession with nuclear, as opposed to biological, chemical and other weapons. The other ones must be a OK. Like most Arabs you ignore the basic fact that the Arabs have started all Arab-Israeli wars with the aim to destroy Israel. Israel managed to stop the Arab aggression in 1973 and had the upper hand when the Russians came to save their Arab clients. Widespread anti-Jewish racist hate propaganda is rampant In all Arab countries including Egypt which signed a "peace treaty" with Israel in 1979. It shows that Israel can be trusted. Can the same thing be said for Arab countries? Possibly Egypt. Possibly Jordan. However enither of them really feel threatend by Israel. Egypt's peace with Israel came at the end of the 6 day war and to my recollection, there has been no significant conflicts between the two since.
