Nice to act like this man knows nothing about the Arab-Israeli dispute and cannot build bridges between Jews and Arabs....what BS! Jimmy Carter made a huge contribution to Middle East Peace, is not an "arabist," and should be welcomed into the Israeli-Palestinian fold. He may be a dreamer, but he is a dreamer who produced great results in his day. And his faith in and service to God is real, not like some fake fundamentalist Christians, violent radical Moslems or lunatic, pulsa-denora giving Jews I could mention.

Carter is a great man, however his politics continue their abysmal decline. If only American politics would leave Israel alone...

Carter's biggest failure as US President was in foreign policy. He's a very nice man -- too nice really -- but he seems to be too optimistic about people. Nobody should forget that after his failed Putsch in 1923, Adolf Hitler chose politics over armed rebellion and transformed his Nazis into a potent political force that gained power by democratic means. But underneath, he was not changed in the slightest, and we know the result. In the case of Hamas, however, the worry is not so great because they simply don't have the opportunities to exercise power, their population being too small: they might unleash war, but they'll lose it.

At least Carter admits that Hamas needs to change. I wonder if he'd feel the same way if Hamas had its HQ in Atlanta and was planning to wipe out Plains.
