1. EU Money Wasters
alan ,   south africa   (01.26.06)
Many Palestinian Experts and Observers have been saying on the World TV that the Election was fought on the principle of "Corruption"....If that is so, then the EU and various Western " do-gooder " Palestinian "benefactors" are to blame... They pushed Millions and Billions to Arafat and his friends. This landed up in Switzerland and similar money havens... Only Hamas gave bread and Felafel and welfare to the Palestinians.... When the election came, the EU and other benefactors saw how they poured their money down a lavatory... They should have been more prudent in their donations...
2. Well... you wanted democracy
Salam ,   UK   (01.26.06)
the USA and EU used always used to claim that they want REAL democracy in the Arab world, well... here it is, the Palestinian people said their word.. and the great democratic change happened there..... it is really disgusting to see those in the USA claim to ask for democracy, then reject it when it comes?? Show me Mr. Bush what are you going to do now with your democracy? are you going to act like a man and respect the palestinians' choice? or are you going to act (as usual) as a dump cowboy?? :-P
3. Free choice
Takan ,   Belgian in Eilat   (01.26.06)
If the Arabs want to elect the militias to rule them, let it be so. If they want to keep on living the violent radical path, so be it. The US, EU and Israel do not have to accept this and should cut all ties with the Palestinians. If you have a noisy neighbour, shut your door and windows. We do not have to support or accept the free choice of the Palestinian people, it's their choice so let them live with it.
4. It's not a "democracy" if all the candidates are terrorists
Rob ,   UK   (01.26.06)
How can it possibly be a democracy when the candidates standing are terrorists and do not follow democratic values? There were precisely zero parties running on a policy of peace with Israel--if there were they would be killed as "colloborators" anyway.
5. Fatah Hamas have the same goal
Marcel ,   Florida   (01.26.06)
The E.U. and U.S. have allowed Palestinian terrorist groups to grow stronger while they have intentionally weakened Israel by RESTRAINT ,threats and pressure to sacrifice painfully for their lie of peace. Watch for the U.S. and EU to spin Hamas as 'not so bad' I listened to CFR chief devil Richard Hass say that from 'The Forum' in Davos Switzerland today He was saying 'it's not so bad ,you can't read too much into this " about the Hamas vidtory. Their agenga is to lead Israel to the gas chambers of hamas without a fight and so far the majority of Jews are willingly following to their deaths under the delusion of peace sold to them by false allies and fasle freinds.
6. # 2 Salam
Andy ,   Israel   (01.26.06)
Contrary to the myth that voting makes Democracy, PEOPLE MAKE DEMOCRACY in a far deeper sense then a trip to the voting booth. For that the Palestinians have billions of miles to go. Democracy is achieved by self-sacrifice. Not the sacrifice of others. This is why there is no peace. This is why no matter what the West does for the Palestinians, the Palestinians don't get it cause they DON'T DO IT. Democracy can not be given. IT MUST BE EARNED. If anyone deserves their own homeland it is the Kurds. But this does not involve the Jews and therefore the Kurds mean shit to anyone. The Arab/Muslim street with the help from their appeasers in the West continue to drive the Palestinian issue simply because it continues to drive the time worn condition called Anti-Semitism. It drives the world mad that the little strip of land called Israel exists. Israel which gives more back to the world a zillion times bigger then their size will forever be held accountable for the weakness and hate within the Palestinian people and the Arab world which fuels that hate and I am sorry to say West is co-dependant to this whole folly of lies. Read history, people who have achieved democracy, even democracy with flaws worked themselves to the bone for it. It was never handed to them on a silver platter laden with the blood of others. It was a no-brainer to know Hamas would ultimately rise to the top of Palestinian politics because the leaders of the PA are no better then they are. The US led quartet knows this as well as the rest of our appeasing corrupt often times lying world leaders. The palestinian people spoke. We will see a litany of world leaders wringing their hands soon to be followed by a litany of world leaders reaching their hands out to Hamas just like they did to Arafat and Abbas. Nothing will change. Not the Palestinian people or the Israelis who continue to give more and more. Nothing will change except the sacrifice of innocent Jews. Having lived a very long time I am here to tell you that only when the culture of hate are MADE to either coexhist for real or cease to exhist will this chapter end.
7. WELCOME ISR'L TO REALITY-HAMAS WANTS YOU EXTNCT-FIGHT OR DIE

8. A response to Salam
Kate ,   London   (01.26.06)
Salam writes: "Show me Mr. Bush what are you going to do now with your democracy? are you going to act like a man and respect the palestinians' choice?" If the French people elected a government which did not recognise the UK and was committed to that nation's destruction, do you imagine that the UK, or indeed any civilised nation, would recognise that French government? Democracy merely gives you the right to choose. Individuals have all kinds of freedoms in an open society, but if they abuse those freedoms, they will be punished. The Palestinian people have chosen Islamofascism and they will be treated accordingly by virtually all of the world community.
9. TO 1 ,,3,4,5
GEORGE SAMI   (01.26.06)
ALAN BILLIONS PUSHED TO ISRAEL AND NUTS TO PA. TAKAN IS THIS THE DEMOCRACY YOU CALL FOR IT, EITHER TO WIN THE PERSON YOU LIKE OR THIS IS NOT DEMOCRACY. ROB-UK WHY – YOU ARE LIVING IN GOOD DEMOCRACY , WHY BLAME THE CHOICE OF THE PEOPLES. MARCEL THE FIRST AND THE ONLY TERRORISTS GROUP IN THE MIDDLE EAST IS ISRAEL AND THE ISRAELIS THEMSELVES. EITHER TO BE WITH US OR YOU AGAINST US,,,,,, WAKE UP MAN.
10. Salami #2
DR ,   Florida, USA   (01.26.06)
You are right Salam, the people did vote and it's sad to see that they had to vote for a terror group. It must mean that the other party was so corrupt or full of BS that the people have had enough. On the other hand, Israel and president Bush have to deal with Hamas as they always have. If one bullet or one rocket hits Israel, Hamas will pay. This is a chance for the Palestinians to change for the better. My bet is that they will do like they always do, and ruin that good chance and again show their true intentions.
11. Salam
Joe ,   Brooklyn, NY   (01.26.06)
I was really hoping that the Palestinians wanted peace. Well, these elections gave the Palestinian people the right to say what they wanted, and apparently, they want Qassam rockets instead. They now can have what they want, but Israel has the right to respond. I see a bleak future indeed.

Marcel ,   Florida   (01.26.06)
I've been struggling to awaen the suicidal and stupid Jews to defeat the Palestrinians since 1993 . Instead they appease and surrender to this enemy ,making great war sure and inevitable The MAJORITY stupid left appeaser of Israel have forgotten the lesson of Neville Chamberlain's appeasemnt to Adolf Hitler I wonder id this Hamas win will awaken a few blind deaf and stupid Jews who assume there can be any true peace with islam ???? Or is the mental disorder of liberalism a terminal disease ? Fight or march into the sea you fools of Kadima the backwards and comatose party.

15. The Palestinians have done themselves a horrible disservice
Yonatan ,   USA   (01.26.06)
I can no longer take them seriously.
16. Its True...
roy ,   EU   (01.26.06)
ALL they want is killing....they dont want to achive peace.... its wrriten in their minds that they have to controle jerusalem....that god said so.... nothing can stop them.....they will not be usfull and we MUST REACT@!
17. I only have 7 words to tell fatah
Yasmeen   (01.26.06)
This is what you get for corruption
18. palestine is the new democracy in the middle east
(01.26.06)
EU and US just talk .. but they will not stop dealing with palestine.. thats the reality. Rice just called abbas and congratulated him and mentioned palestine being the new democracy in the middle east. Israelies... WAKE UP .. you guys elected a war criminal (Sharon) and now the palestinian chose to go with resistance. you either choose peace by returning all stolen lands to palestinians or you will have to pay the price. Hamas didnt win because fateh is corrupt ... Hamas won because people felt that resistance is the only way to go ... they tried peace for 10 years and the israeli response was obvious .. more than 6000 palestinians were murdered in the last decade . ball is in your court now . you guys have elections in march . pick the party that will fully pull out from all palestinian land and you will live in peace .. its simple but yet you guys are so stupid that you cant realize it!
19. To Sam the Sham #9
Christopher ,   Boston, MASS USA   (01.26.06)
Look in your own backyard. The ONLY ones giving ongoing support to the Palestinians are the US providingmoney and Israel providing infrastructe development and a market for your goods. The Muslim states have ALL promised you funding, yet none deliver. NONE. So, you voted for an end to the US aid and Israeli assistance and so shall you receive!
20. to 8ty
Nabulsi   (01.26.06)
Stop kidding yourself. Refusing to submit and accept an occupying power is not the same as not recognising a neighbouring country. Israel is an occupying power and not a neighbour. You seem to be reading too much Zionist propaganda.
21. misleading
Edward ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (01.26.06)
I do think that a lot of reactions to the Palestinian Election are focused on the issue of renouncing terror or war crimes by Hamas, in my view this is a very narrow path to address the issue, since all other candidates could be considered the same as Hamas from the US or the Israeli point of view. Don’t you think that Hamas when it’s in office and talk about rule of law meaning a Shariaa Law not secular one? Don’t you think that women, individual liberties, multi party, freedom of expression, and other human rights are going to be suppressed? Hamas politically for the time being has no significant differ on the national goals (as interim) with any of the Palestinians, but it does have too many differences on the social agenda and other issues related to the daily and personal life. Don’t you think they will create IMARAH, like Tallaban?
22. RE: Comment 18
James ,   Washington, DC   (01.26.06)
"they tried peace for 10 years and the israeli response was obvious" When your idea of "peace" is telling some poor fool that if they blow themselves up and kill kids with their bombs then they'll reach paradise, you're right: Israel rejected it. Palestinians have never been interested in peace. The results just prove it.
23. Poor choice
Chrisona ,   Chicago.IL   (01.26.06)
The Palestinian people have freely chosen a terrorist organization to represent them. Bad move, since those who run with terrorists generally share their fate.
24. Gangsta Rules
Kathy Chriqui ,   Los Angeles, CA   (01.26.06)
It's funny how Israel pretends that the arabs have formed a real government. Stop deluding yourselves. Look at the reality.
25. #18
Yossi ,   Canada   (01.26.06)
So the arabs in Israel have decided to release the hounds. The arabs have voted for anachy and stupidity and it could not be any better for Israel. Hamass will attack and attack. Israel will vote in Bibi and then Israel can finally beat the crap out of the arabs without restraint. Arabs are always making demands without any real leverage. Now when the arab government kills Israeli civilians, then finally, no more restrained responces, Israel can hit them will all their might!!
26. To Edward in Lebanon
A Palestinian   (01.26.06)
We will create and Emarah that will take care of you guys in Lebanon sooner or later.. Just do not rush things!!!
27. Hamas won because Pals believe Resistance is the way to go!!
Palestinian ,   Palestine   (01.26.06)
Hamas won because Pals believe Resistance is the way to go!! Not because Fatah is corrupt. It seems Israel needs to learn the basics of Game Theory from Prof. Aumann. It is a game. For five years of oppression, eat it. This is the official response of the Palestinian people. It is not important you like it or not, what is important is that you understand that the Palestinians are a nation that will not, and never, submit to your intimidation, agression, and occupation. Sooner or later, this land will return to its lovers, the Palestinians. This land is not for sale, negotiations, and concessions. You Satan promised you falsehood, and Allah promised us VICTORY!!!
28. ROY NO 16
GEORGE SAMI   (01.26.06)
ROY SINCE YOU BELIEVE G-D GIVE THIS LAND TO JEWS AS THEY SAID , WHY YOU CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT SAME G-D TOLD THEM TO GO TO JERUSALEM , MAY BE G-D LIKE TO SEE THE SONS OF ABRAHAM FIGHTING EACH OTHERS,??????
29. to #23 chrisona
(01.26.06)
so do you mean the solution now is to kill all palestinians ? mmm .. reminds me hitler
30. #25 Yossi
(01.26.06)
Yossi , Bibi is the biggest sissy in the israeli history .. just remember 1996. The palestinians just threw rocks and he handed them hebron and stop digging under al aqsa mosque .. so i really hope israelies will elect him . cuz that would be a break for palestinians
