1. Europeans are Complete Idiots...
Michelle M ,   london   (01.30.06)
The Europeans have apparently not noticed that it was the majority of Palestinians who voted for Hamas. i.e. the Palestinian people voted for terror and no peace - spitting in the face of every global effort to bring peace. What complete fools for giving money to them! There are far more deserving causes - people who actually want to better themselves, instead of those who crave terror and war.
2. IT DIDN'T TAKE EUROPE LONG TO CAVE IN

you got my support
6. to no 1
(01.30.06)
Palestinians and Muslims do not crave war and terror. Israel, America, and Britain did by occupying other countries. Your statement about Palestinians is idiotic by definition, and you should be ashamed labeling people like that. Wasn't it Israelis who voted for Sharon, the massacres hero! America did not stop aiding Israel then, did it? International Politics is just a joke at the moment!
7. ?
Bill Pearlman ,   chicago, USA   (01.30.06)
I have a question for any Europeans out there who are gainfully employed taxpayers. Any thoughts about this, because has an American I'm perfectly happy to have you pick up our share of PA aid. Evidently it's not a problem for you.
8. Michelle...
Derek ,   usa   (01.30.06)
Michelle, that isn't necessarily true. I like to think the Palestinian people voted for Hamas due to the intense social reform it represents on the streets. While I don't condone the violent dogma of Hamas, I'm sure not every Palestinian does either. Most were attracted to the other side of Hamas, the side that builds schools, eliminates graft, and provides the basic social amenities that Fatah was never interested in doing.
9. Wait. I heard nothing......
Tal ,   Israel   (01.30.06)
that the US was cutting aid to the Palestinians. You don't think for a moment the aid money will stop? Never happen. The fact that the US has already poured billions into the PA coffers is rather telling. What few are willing to admit is that Fatah/al-asqsa are no better than Hamas. How many Jews have they slaughtered? Yet the US could never get the balls to deem them a terrorist organization for then there could be no Palestinian state and no longer could the world blame Israel for all the ills of the Arab/Muslim world. The fact that the US leader of the entire free world has lied for Fatah/Arafat/Abbas is nothing short of shameful. I guarantee nothing will change for the US with a Hamas government. The talk of not funding a Hamas government is just merely a cover-up. Nothing will change. Smoke and mirrors peppered with more lies will continue to be the order of the day. Remember it is the current and past US governments who have allowed Arafat and now Abbas to go under cover of almost something similar to the Wednesday evening ladies literary society. By continuing to whitewash and not speak truthfully as to the fact Fatah/al-asqsa is a certifiable terrorist organization gives the world the opening to continue to feed the rabid dog. We are already hearing more and more about the Hamas political branch and how they build hospitals and feed the poor. Guess why? However our politicians refuse to talk about the reasons for their so-called humanitarian objectives for then that too would be target to be de-legitimized. Heaven forbid we de-legitimize real reasons! The world will do anything to elevate Hamas and others. I remind you, Hitler also built hospitals and fed the poor. So did Al Capone and the now defunct Vice Lords of Chicago. Matter of fact, the 'humanitarian' aspect of most dictatorial regimes are merely a cover for the overriding evil to which they engage. While the prospect of real sustainable peace is ever so remote, so is TRUTH and JUSTICE.
10.  “The ball here is clearly in the court of Hamas"
Alan ,   Savion   (01.30.06)
"Renounce terror." I love the way everyone talks as if a Hamas change is as easy as filling ones car with gasoline. The culture of hate is so entrenched in Hamas and all of Palestinian society that we are talking about years to cleanse it. Words will not make for a Palestinian change. Deeds over a very long time will be the only convincing factor. Thus far the Palestinians are as close to that as we are to Pluto.
11. # 7.
Bill ,   Idaho   (01.30.06)
Are you aware that your tax dollars just went to Fatah election? The same Fatah who should be listed as well as a terrorist group just like Hamas. The Fatah who now has long range missles to hit deep into Israel. The same Fatah who wiped out hundreds of innocent Israelis. Are you aware of the billions your tax dollars went to in support of Arafat and now Abbas who are no different than the leaders of Hamas. The US is the strongest nation in the world acting no different than their European counterparts.
12. If you people think for one moment US will
Beth ,   NY   (01.30.06)
stop aiding the PA, you are all on some kind of a trip. When the dust settles the bullshit will continue just like it has for all these years. .....Just with a different spin.
13. surprise....surprise....
Sivan ,   Tel-Aviv   (01.30.06)
I'm in full support too with 1, 2 , 3 and Jesse.
14. EU Funding
gerschor ,   Raanana, Israel   (01.30.06)
Bet your bottom dollar that the EU will find some weaselly way to continue to send money to the PA. Hamas will mumble that they will forego violence, the EU will say, "Hurrah!", and the money will flow. Of course, once the violence continues, the EU will moan and groan, but the flow will not stop.
15. A note to Mohammed
Pat ,   Alabama, USA   (01.30.06)
A friend suggested that "Hamas will follow the money." I would also add to this "... and it will corrupt them." The palestinians voted for change and they will get it; but, change only in the upper echelons. My guess is that you, Mohammed, will not be impacted by your choice of leadership, unless you are able to get on their payroll. Another change you may encounter is, if at all possible, your hatred for Jews will increase. You seem to expect that the fortunes will turn for all of your landsmen; what's more, Hamas knows this. In order to keep you in your place, Hamas must continue to blame Jews for your wretched condition.
16. #1, your Right.......!
Theo ,   Netherlands (Europe)   (01.30.06)
It's sad to say but i am living in a European country, and the goverment is totaly insane giving money to them, GOD forgive us!!!! I am ashamed myself for them.
17. To Derek # 8
CZ   (01.30.06)
I'm glad you'd "like to think" that but chances are you're very wrong in your assessment. Please re-evaluate using common sense and then get back to me.
18. I have to shake my head...
Dan ,   Nashville, USA   (01.30.06)
is there anything out there that angers Europeans enough to take a strong stand? Is there anything out there that you are ready to give everything for to defend? If you don't take a stand now, Europe is finished. Gone. That would be too bad because we Americans always needed Europe to teach us proper culture and how to make cheese. The coming Islamofascist Republic of Europe (IRE) won't be a blot on the face of the Earth, not to mention 2,000 years of European history and culture buried under a big giant Mosque.
19. #16 write to your government
MARK ,   USA   (01.30.06)
EU loves terrorists If there is a bombing in Europe again Hashem forbid it is their fault. They are funding terrorists.
20. Eurabia
MARK ,   USA   (01.30.06)
The EU caters to muslims. The EU is the evil union. Always was and always will be. Eu lovers terrorists. Hamas has more power and weapons thanks to the EU.
21. Blame The EU if there is another terror attack on Israel
MARK ,   USA   (01.30.06)
22. To #1 and #6
Joe ,   Brooklyn, NY   (01.30.06)
#1: I'm not sure that the Palestinians voted for Hamas as an endorsement of terrorism. In the world community, Hamas is known for its terror bombings. Among the Palestinians, Hamas is known for providing valuable social services. Maybe that's what got them elected. It's not like Fatah was doing such a good job building schools and hospitals. #6: There is no moral equivalance between Sharon and Hamas. Sharon may be a hawk, but when the IDF kills civilians, the Israeli cabinet convenes to prevent it from happening again. When Hamas kills civilians, it meets to see how it can kill more the next time. And don't use the relative weakness of the Palestinians militarily as an excuse; terror is terror is terror.
23. 65% of "Palestinians" support terrorism against EU and U.S.
Rob ,   UK   (01.30.06)
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=95535 ---- A poll carried out in the Palestinian Authority shows 65% support for Al Qaeda terror attacks on the United States and European countries - the biggest donors to the PA. ----
24. They ALL will cave in as they did with Arafat
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (01.30.06)
So really what's new ? Sick .........
25. Gaza-Hamas Boy on the Hamas payroll surely
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (01.30.06)
26. Re#8
Jon   (01.30.06)
Your comment are totally right. If U have a close look at Hamas agenda, U'll find it completely logical. If Israel has the right to invade the Palestinian areas day and night, it seems nonsence to dis-arm these people from simple weapons to defend their people.Israel is really the major part that would be resposible for any failure.Fair solution would be accepted by all parties NOT the solution that Israel dectates..
27. Joe, Brooklyn, NY: Is YOUR name really Joe
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (01.30.06)
or rather Mohamed or Abdullah, and or Ahmed You are a potential candidate for the prize of Idiocy.... state of insanity and madness
28. WAIT TILL HAMAS CLARIFY'S ITS POSITION??!!!
CK ,   CINCINNATI, USA   (01.30.06)
HAS'NT HAMAS MAID IT'S POSITION CLEAR ENOUGH WITH THOUSANDS OF ATTACKS TARGETING INNOCENT CIVILIANS, NOT TO METION THAT IT CALLS FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF ISRAEL EXPLICITLY IN ITS CHARTER AND ALMOST DAILY!!!!
29. voting
jessie ,   norway   (01.30.06)
the palestinian people voted, maybe for a change, but at the same time they say YES to more terror. why is there not 1 person who say NO to terrorisme, and YES to peace in this " want to be nation"???(leaders)!!! they all know who hamas is,after all many of the young men have commited suicide in their name.
30. Jessie
Barry ,   Tokyo   (01.30.06)
What do you except from people who has experienced probably the worst self-government in human history. As long as the Palestinian Arabs are stuck with their level of intellectual poverty, they will always do precisely what is in their worst self-interest - not necessarily the same thing for their so called "leaders".
