1. the most telling part
ash ,   gush etzion   (02.14.06)
the most telling part of this poll is the fact the more knowledgeable the person on global events, the more likely they are to support Israel. Seems you can not substitute knowledge when it comes to opinions. www.kicisrael.blogspot.com
2. i welcome this support
Fuad ,   saudi arabia   (02.14.06)
they must support each other because they are in the same box. both of have murdered the originals of each country , america murders red indians and israel murders palestinians. both of them are killing Arabs and muslims america kills them in Iraq and Afghanstan , and israel kills them in palestine. both of them come from all over the world and establish their countries and they look like salad rather than one mixture of people from the same origins, thus they look down others. both of them torture helpless prisoners ,israel in majedo prison and america in abu graib and guantanamo, they torture them and make them naked and so on, the most important thing to know that israel has sent some ( experts) to abu graib prison in iraq, to share the good ideas of torture with america and to teach them what do they do in their prisons in israel so they can practice the same thing. in iraq. so why it is surprising to you , to find them backing each other, for their evil goals. criminals are always in the same box.
3. #1: You read things backward.
(02.14.06)
Americans in general are the most ignorant of world's major issues. The more ignorant they are, the more they will be misleaded by the Jewish influenced media in the USA. This poll should only be troubling for Americans. After all, it is getting more clear why they have a chattered picture in the world after decades of being perceived as a model.

Saudi Arabia is a well known abuser of human rights. Torturing its own citizens and foreigners. Its very well documented. Read for yourself Fuad your countries evil abuse at Amnesty International web site: http://www.amnestyusa.org/countries/saudi_arabia/index.do Latest News USA: Ahmed Abu Ali Trial Flawed by Exclusion of Saudi Torture Evidence, Charges Amnesty International in New Report Dec 14, 2005 Saudi Arabia: Amnesty International renews calls to end executions immediately Apr 3, 2005 Saudi Arabia: Disturbing increase in executions Dec 22, 2004 Saudi Arabia: Amnesty International condemns the killing of civilians by armed group in Jeddah Dec 6, 2004 SAUDI ARABIA: Amnesty International Calls on Armed Group to Release Hostage Unharmed Jun 16, 2004 Saudi Arabia: Amnesty International appeals to armed group for the safety and release of Paul M. 5. dont be fooled by this???????
john   (02.14.06)
Americans support Israel in theory because they are scared to say otherwise. Deep inside them Americans hate Israel because it is a burden on tax payer...Dont be fooled by this. The 15% who support Palestinians should be taken for brave Americans who are not scared to tell the truth about their feelings.....Sorry guys truth hurts....happy valentines day to all.
6. Re: #3
Logic ,   Israel   (02.14.06)
It's good you welcome this support, because America will never forget that most of the 9-11 hijackers were Saudi nationals. By the way, Arabia belongs to the Hashemites, not the House of Saud.
7. #3 and #5 Same anti-Semite
Roger ,   USA   (02.14.06)
Comes to Jews to tell us how much he/she hates us. People, learn the new technigues. Otherwise, you are too transparent.
8. #2
Adam ,   UK   (02.14.06)
Arabs indegenious to 'Palestine' before WWII were massacring Jews and Hitler and the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem had a tacit agreement that if the Axis powers won the war in North Africa and Europe against the Allies, the Grand Mufti could repeat the Nazi efforts in 'Palestine' Mandate, where the Jews were protected by the British. A massacre of Jews who had newly arrived and those who had been living there for centuries, millenia, would have occured. Arab human rights against 'Muslim Brothers' and 'Infidels' is widespread and amongst the most punitive. Fuad, your self righteousness of comparing the early US colonists massacring Indians and alleged Israeli attrocities is laughable!

Ezra ,   West Coast, USA   (02.14.06)
It's interesting to read what illiterates like you write. When the Europeans came to what's now the US, it wasn't a country. They actually took that land and built a country. Likewise, when the Jews CAME BACK to their homeland, your racial brethren did not have a country in Palestine - they were just squatting illegally, like they're doing everywhere else in the Middle East. Oh, and I really like this: "both of them come from all over the world and establish their countries and they look like salad rather than one mixture of people from the same origins" What's wrong with assimilating diverse genetic strains? You make Klansmen look tame and civilized with your racism.
10. My two cents
Michael Steiner   (02.14.06)
Hm, Americans are for the most poorly educated and even worse informed. There's not much that can be said for the objectivity of the media in the US. The best proof is this: "two out of three Americans believe the Arab countries will never agree to live in peace beside Israel." Now, on what basis would they have concluded that? Israel is recognized by and has enjoyed years of peace and economic and other cooperation with Egypt and Jordan. Mauritania, too. Countries like Tunisia, Morocco, Qatar and Oman have amicable relations with Israel. As far as the rest, we have a "cold peace" with them at the moment. That is also true of Syria and Lebanon which, in my view, will be the most difficult to achieve peace with. But anyway, this shows how ill-informed Americans are. As far as their being our friend, well, I'd sooner call them an ally. Were US and Israel's interests to diverge, have no doubt that that 57% would dwindle to very little very soon. #2: The US supports your country, too. What does that tell you?

Josh ,   Jerusalem   (02.14.06)
All I have to say is look at #2's comments. Then look where he's from. I'm not prejudice, nor racist, but I am a realist, and it's plain to see where these comments come from. Fuad from Suadi Arabia surprisingly has the facts all bent and mangled past any signs of recognition. But don't think that he is crazy, or extrememe. These weightless bits of "information" he throws in the air are typical of all theocratic/autocratic Arab regimes in the world. The lies, the slander, the abuse, all transmitted to the the people on national television, radio, and the newspaper. Keep em' surpressed, block out modernity so they don't know just how opressed they are, and brain wash em'. This seems to be the autocratic motto of the 20th/21st century. Fuad is not alone. MILLIONS of Muslims around the world are opressed just like he is, and they don't even realize the power that they and only they possess to change it.
13. 100% of those who know history support Israel

ash ,   gush etzion   (02.14.06)
Americans are ignorant and you claim the American media is Jewish controlled. Firstly, one of the largest international media magnates is called Rupert Murdoch. Is he Jewish??? Your ignorance is clearly stated by your retention of such lies and bias as you state. www.kicisrael.blogspot.com
15. To Josh in Jerusalem
Ezra ,   West Coast, USA   (02.14.06)
You wrote: "Fuad is not alone. MILLIONS of Muslims around the world are opressed just like he is, and they don't even realize the power that they and only they possess to change it." Make that HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS. They don't want to change anything. They're happy the way they are, and, IMHO, they're incapable of changing, save for a tiny minority. That's the problem.
16. To Fuad nr. 2
Barrels ,   Holland   (02.14.06)
Dear Fuad, You forget that after the start of Islam the arabs (from what is now Saudi-Arabia) colonized many countries (the so-called Jihad), for example North Africa. Nowadays the orignal inhabitants (Berbers etc.) are not in control of their own countries. Arabs rule their countries and continue to occupy other counries, for example the West (former Spanish) Sahara by Marocco. Dou you also support the end of the occupation by Arabs en giving back their country to Polisario (the freedommovement of West Sahara) ?
17. I wanted to reply to 2,3...
Tahl ,   Israel   (02.14.06)
But you've all done such a great job already, that any further word on my part would be superfluous. Well done guys.
18. I'd support Israel too if...
Khalid ,   Halifax   (02.14.06)
I'd support Israel too if I saw everyday American News channels and American newspapers misguiding the public and effectively bowing down to Israeli lobby groups. When a racist, gigantic, cement Wall is being called a "Fence" in the NY Times and on CNN, it's natural to think that anyone who retaliates because of the "Fence" is a terrorist; after all, what harm could a "Fence" possibly do. And when illegally-occupied territories are referred to as only "disputed" then anyone who launches rockets because of it must be a terrorist; I mean who in their right mind would launch rockets into lands that are "disputed?" And when internationally-illegal colonies are called "Jewish neighborhoods," only a terrorist would dare launch attacks at these neighborhoods; who else but a crazed terrorist would assault a little "Jewish neighborhood?" Once American Media starts to call a Wall, which is several times longer and higher than the Berlin Wall ever was, a Wall and not a "Fence"; and once American Media stops calling illegally-occupied territories "Disputed," and starts caling them Occupied (as they are under Law); and once the American Media stops calling internationally-illegal Colonies merely "Jewish neighborhoods," then nobody should be surprised by the American public's opinion, for they are gravely misguided by the "mainstream" Media. Call a spade a spade, and call a Wall a Wall.
19. rady to fight for Israel
Aaron McGuire ,   Orlando, USA!   (02.14.06)
I don't know about any other American Jews, but if Israel is attacked again like in the Yom Kippur War, I'm ready to come to Israel and join the IDF to defend what God has promised Jews everywhere!
20. #2
NP ,   Israel   (02.14.06)
You forgot Russia and the Chechens. Oh, and you forgot Iraq and Quebec. Oh, you forgot Iran and it's dictators. Oh, you forgot Syria and Lebanon who kill each other's leaders. Oh, you forgot egypt who attacked Israel because the 'arab people want war', as the egypt president said back then. There's a long list of more countries you forgot to mention in your silly brainwashed theory. We .. torture terrorists who try to kill theirselves while killing as most as possible by making them naked? your logic is screwed. While Dannish people post caricatures and get their embassies burned and people kidniapped. Palestine lives in poverty because of it's own. They wanted to choose hamas, alrighty then. Now live with the sanctions. We don't have to give you electricity, water, jobs, infrastructure, hospitals, medicine, money, land etc, but we did because we're not as evil as yourself. What can you say you've done for Israel? declared peace for a day? Just because you are still living in the stone age doesn't mean we need to too. If you had jails you would've tortured the Israelies in there. But trust me when I tell you palestinians manage to torture just fine. You don't need a prison for that. We will not liberate a country that doesn't exist. If they want a country they should talk to Egypt and Jordan who abandoned it.

And call an Islamofacist murderer an Islamofacist murderer. And call self-protection and self-defense what they are - self-protection and self-defense. Khalid, you disappoint. I thought you were beyond vomiting out typical terror-sympathizer bullshit. Guess I gave you more credit than you deserve. Tsk, tsk.
22. #2 spoken like a true Idiot
DR ,   Florida, USA   (02.14.06)
There are many American Arabs that came from Saudi Arabia and they all hate your country...why? Becuase they brainwash you over there and if you step out of line, they kill you. Great country you got there. My friends mother worked for an oil company there and they hated everything about that country. America and Israel are free Democracies...is Saudi Arabia??? Nope didn't think so.
23. One aspect very troubling
Jonathan and Mollie ,   Pennsylvania   (02.14.06)
To me, the most dangerous finding of the poll was the difference between Republican support for Israel(over 70%) vs Democratic support(50%). Since American Jews are overwhelmingly Democratic (about 75-80%), the figures are even more ominous because the support for Israel among non -Jewish American democrats is obviously lower than 50%. American Jews who vote Democratic still haven't faced this reality. If a Democrat wins the presidency in 2008 and the Democrats regain control of congress, what will be their incentive to strongly support Israel if less than half of their constituency supports Israel?
24. #10 Steiner
Jenny   (02.15.06)
How many negative posts about American and Israeli Jews will prove who you really are-either a self-hating, far leftist(spit) Jew or an Arab? You speak with such arrogance yet lack any semblance of common sense. Egypt and Jordan do not have peace with Israel, they have what is known as a "cold" peace. Notice how well the Muslim Brotherhood did in the Egyptian elections. This so-called peace only exists b/c America is paying off Egypt and Jordan. But go back to sleep Steiner, heaven forbid you wake up and reality slaps you in the face. Next time you are busy posting how "poorly educated" Americans are, let's hear about the Czech Republic citizens' numerous additions to society. Since the Jews left, it is a worthless heap. You must fit in perfectly. And you speak of American media bias while sitting at the throne of media bias in the EU? You pass yourself off as an optimist/realist but in the end you are nothing but a naive little boy, who is quite callous and rude. Friends like you Israel could definitely do without.
25. Agreeing with Mr. Steiner
Alex ,   USA   (02.15.06)
I seldom find myself agreeing with Mr. Steiner, but he has it right this time. Most Americans are poorly informed about world affairs and have no clue about the REAL opinion of most Israelis about the US, a country filled with goyim and shvartzes. The Israeli left hates the US for being capitalist. The Israeli right hates the US for being secular. What they agree on is their disdain for the US. The poor ignorant Americans think that Israel is an ally because both countries share a common enemy. Americans tend to think that way. They actually fooled themselves in the early 1940's about their great ALLY the USSR. My poor benighted countrymen.
26. Fuad from Saudi Arabia is paranoid
Mike ,   USA   (02.15.06)
Fuad, You have too much time on your hands. Make yourself useful and start learning your history. Whoops, I forgot! The truth doesn't exist in Saudi Arabia. Oh well, your hatred will consume you instead. Take care, Mike
27. American Israelli Support Poll
Bill ,   Aurora, USA   (02.15.06)
I feel that your article is very misleading. If the people polled watch TV then I would say that your poll is true. If people are reading the internet, then your poll is seriously flawed. TV is more friendly to Israel because it is essentially controlled by Israelli interests. With the internet, those control or filters aren't present. Thank God!

misguide?? there are some many ways to get international news...in this PC century if you think you are being "misguided" than check news online like you do. now how about the Palesitian propaganda and brain wash to their kids??
29. Poll: Most Americans support Israel

Can you confirm this part of the article:
According to the Gallup poll, 77 percent of Republicans support Israel, as opposed to only 50 percent of Democrats.
I have not been able to find another source. Thanks
