2. Good, he got what he deserved!
Avraham ,   Netivot   (02.14.06)
I hope other politicians will take note & clean up their act. We need honest, deserving MK's, not criminals serving our country. Omri should consider himself lucky he isn't going to jail for a longer period of time.
3. One small step for Bagatz one giant step for Israel!
(02.14.06)
Send all the corrupted politicians to jail! benizri, avraham, olmert, blumental, hazan, itzik, peres, hanegbi, all of them, Kadima to jail!
4. "Nobody knows the trouble I'se seen,.."
Yoel Ariel ,   Ft.lauderdale(USA)   (02.14.06)
As Herr Steiner would say:,... "Khidima!!" Foward to the slammer, where he may or may not recieve a new outlook on life from between his ankles. Even finding happiness with a new cell, er, make that soul mate. Khidima will probably use public funds to buy "Fat Omri" a tin cup to rake accross the bars when calling for the screws. (Cue harmonica music)
5. now he qualifies for a future PM position

6. 9 months won't teach him anything!
Michelle ,   Israel   (02.14.06)
He is crooked just like his father---how is it that kids blocking roads in demonstrations against the government were held in jail until their trials began some 3-5months or more with no consideration from the judges as to what they had been goung through the previous year , including some whose families were the ones being kicked out of their homes and omri gets sympathy for deceiving the entire country and has not spent a dayy in jail yet! I doubt he ever will!!
7. Mazel Tov!
Dave ,   Ramat Aviv Gimel   (02.14.06)
Mazel Tov! Awaiting the rest of that ill knesset to be thrown in prison also.
8. Harsh? compared to what little girl protesters get
Shmuel ,   NJ USA   (02.14.06)
Cosidering Sharon stole the election, then on that mandate evicted people from their homes, who have yet to be compensated. Little girls who tried to excersize civil rights, and stand up for democracy which the nation had been robbed by this very thug, ended up getting beaten up, & jailed months without even a trial. This thug is responsible for that too, and anything his fathers stolen administration caused. He deserves a life sentance, all his property cofiscated & shared out by his victims, [Gush Katif refugees, etc] and possibly a death sentance as Rodef. This only a slap on the wrist. He had no mercy and deserves no mercy.
9. Maybe he'll lose some weight in prison

was sentenced for 3 years for a controversial 140,000 NIS (wich has never been proven to be true, but based on the words of a single CRIMINAL who received a number of benefits from the state for his role), now omri will serve 9 mths for millions... this is what we call J-U-S-T-I-C-E !!! --- GOD BLESS AMERICA!
12. To#10
Francois ,   Paris   (02.14.06)
Your corrupted politicians will never be jailed. Glad to see Palestinians and Jews agreeing on something.
13. 9MONTHS?NOT ENOUGH-NOT ENOUGH-NOT ENOUGH!!!
(02.15.06)
14. This is PR and not justice
Ilan ,   Ariel   (02.15.06)
Justice would have required prosecuting and convicting the father along with the son. Justice would require treating violations within by Ehud Barak and Yitzhak Herzog, by Yuli Tamir, by Ben-Eliezer, by Poraz and by others with equal severity. There is a selective approach which, while as in this case, can hit a guilty person but on the whole it is a political and not a judicial process.
15. Omri- make room for the rest of the gang
Happysettler ,   Ofra   (02.15.06)
Great news. 9 months is not enough. Maybe Cyril Kern can pay the fine for him- but there is still $3 million missing. Has anybody looked under Ariks bed lately?
16. Sharing a cell with Bubba will be exciting for Omri.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica, CA   (02.15.06)
