2. Their own parliment
J K ,   NYC, USA   (02.21.06)
Forget it. The Knesset is the Israeli parliment to which you may freely vote and elect candidates to. If you want 'your own' parliment, you have 22 or 23 others to vote in...all you have to do is move.
3. Screw em then. They don't like Israel?
Lemor ,   Center Israel   (02.21.06)
Let them try Syria or Saudi Arabia or go to Egypt or over to Jordan. Any excuse in the book to hate Jews. Furthermore if they think living is so damn easy for the average Israeli, they have another guess coming. Here I will give them a quarter of the little I have. As if anyone hands me anything on a silver platter. Crybaby Zionist Haters can find me at handouts@neverfullenoughcup.com p.s They want an 'arab parliment' in a Jewish state!? .......They desire the same thing Hamas and the innkeepers of Hamas want.
4. Boycotting
Lorry ,   Israel   (02.21.06)
Arabs in Israel are treated like second-class citizens this is a fact everyone knows; by boycotting the election you will places Arab population in more dangers of voicing their opinions and demanding your rights as a citizens
5. They should vote in Jordanian elections
Dani ,   Tel Aviv   (02.21.06)
THEIR country.
6. Disappointed...
Jared ,   Toronto, Canada   (02.21.06)
I'm extremely disappointed in the Arab leadership of Israel. They are really shortsighted.
7. Please, don't vote

8. No limits for Arab arrogance
Daniel ,   Israel   (02.21.06)
Arrogant Arab leaders in Israel are deliberately mixing individual rights of citizens with national rights. Arab citizens of Israel should have the same rights like all Israelis to equal education and employment opportunities, good housing, health care etc. However, the Arabs have NO NATIONAL RIGHTS in Israel since Israel is NOT an Arab country and the Arab minority must integrate and adapt to the Israeli reality and norm in which they live. There is only ONE flag, ONE national athem, ONE parliament in Israel just like in the UK, Sweden or France. The natives of Israel are ETHNIC ISRAELIS/JEWS and not Arabs foreigners. Either the Arab accept this or they will have to move to one of their 22 countries. Israel was, is and will always remain JEWISH/ISRAELI. Racist Arabs who incite against Israel should have NO rights and be expelled from Israel.
9. outrageous!
marianne ,   Colorado, USA   (02.22.06)
"Listen, the State of Israel is not our state." damn right! "The state has no affinity to us and we have no affinity to it." right again... smart guy... "Israeli citizenship was forced on us. Our parents did not want Israel. On the contrary, they fought it." Indeed they did ... and lost. Too bad, buddy. Israeli citizenship was NOT forced on you, however. Your option is, was, and always has been to live in your own country in the Middle East - it's name is Jordan. When the State of Israel was re-established at the end of WWII as a homeland for the Jewish people, the leaders of the Arab states in the region told their brothers and sisters residing in this tiny strip of dry, dusty land to leave for only a little while until we were successfully driven into the sea, then you could come back and lay claim to all our stuff - land, homes, crops, money, shoes, eyeglasses, suitcases, whatever. What a surprise, then, that the Jewish soldiers prevailed, and the little new Jewish homeland is still around. In addition to the existing Jewish population in Israel, immigrants came initially because the world community felt that simple justice called for place where refugees from the Nazi Holocaust could safely go and never again be threatened with genocide. Jerusalem has always been the spiritual center of Judaism and the only appropriate capital for a Jewish state. While Jerusalem may be a holy city for Muslim Arabs, your spiritual center is in Mecca. Go there if you want to go "home". Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, etc., etc., are all ancient lands with proud histories (although ther present status is not much to be proud of), and would warmly welcome you as they have for the past 58 years -- hmmmm, well, no, I guess not... Your own people's greed and arrogance and corruption - THEY created your filthy refugee camps and sad little villages for YOU - your own people kept you there as pawns for their political expedience and for your misguided, futile and silly national aspirations. Immigrants continue to come to Israel because it is in their hearts and souls, or because (in the case of Arab lands) they are forced out of their homes, or because they want to be a part of building something meaningful and beautiful and peaceful - a model for democracy, a "Light Unto the Nations". They stay because they are patriots. It certainly isn't a perfect place - but it is ours. Live in harmony as a minority and participate as you can and will in a legitimate government and society, or go pollute some other place with your anger and venom. Parallel universes exist only in science fiction.
10. 11 Israeli Arab MKs TODAY - about 10% of Knesset
howard ,   pacific coast, usa   (02.22.06)
If leaders of the Arab sector focused less on grandstanding/attacking Israel, and more on making Israel a better country for all of its citizens and "delivering the goods" to their constituents, they would do better in the polls and everyone in Israeli society would be better off. This boycott-and-create-own-parliament stuff is another example of the delusional silliness of the Israeli Arab civic "leadership." Like all Israeli citizens, Israeli Arabs deserve better than this kind of self-destructive nonsense.
11. Arabs in Israel
Ben Cassidy ,   Newfoundland, Canada   (02.22.06)
No such thing as an Israeli Arab for better oir worse. There are Arabs living in Isreal. End of story
12. If Arabs cannot get enough vote - even of their own
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (02.22.06)
