2. S*** happens.
Bill Pearlman ,   Chicago, USA   (02.25.06)
3. I do not like the security fence either, but...
What choice does Israel really have in order to protect its citizens from terrorists and other militants, such as suicide bombers? Isn't a country obligated to protect its citizens?
Johnny Weintraub ,   Sugar Land, Texas US   (02.25.06)
4. kol ha kavod akhe
i pray for u recovery soon God blees you my brother and all good people like you ... kol hakavod akhe
Mohamed ,   palestine   (02.25.06)
5. Supporting the enemy means you become the enemy
What a stupid loser! Protesting on the side of the PLO fascists against his own country. Now, he will be a half-blind stupid loser.
Dudu ,   Kfar Sava   (02.25.06)
6. Tough darts for the traitor
Bartholemew F.D.   (02.25.06)
7. IDF SOLDIER WHO LOST HIS EYE TO VICIOUS ROCK THROWERS
Demonstrators threw rocks at IDF. The evil intent of the rock-throwers is to cause great bodily harm. Rocks maim and kill. The rock-throwers are despicable. Ynet, please do an article on the precious IDF solder who lost his eye. Were his violent assaulters every brought to justice?
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (02.25.06)
8. blind idiot
what's next for him....sewing suicide vest together for Hamas?
jf ,   nashville   (02.25.06)
9. police are police the world around
police are police the world around. I hope the kid makes a full recovery. He's a brave one. As for the people who defend the fence..... How would you feel if a fence were built around your neighborhood, the roads you travel on every day were cut off, and your friends and relatives land was levelled in the process, and you werent free to visit them? Oh and from time to time your neighborhood gets bombed by planes. The Israeli people ought to be ashamed of their government (much like many Americans are ashamed of ours). This will go on for a long time, like in Ireland perhaps...
pete ,   ithaca, NY, USA   (02.25.06)
10. 100% FOR FENCE
Oh we don't have people building fences around our neighbourhoods anymore, but we do have our buses, restuarants, clubs, malls and any place full of Jews bombed by suicide bombers who DELIBERATELY want to murder as many civilians as possible. We have Arab States and terror groups vowing to wipe us of the map and will murder Jews, in Israel and abroad. The reason why we have a fence Pete is to stop these murdering terrorists from entering Israel and butchering civilians, whether israeli Jewish or Israeli Arab. I don't fully agree with all my government's policies and i believe the fence shouldn't cut into Palestinian land, but the fence SHOULD stay. As for Matan Cohen, i hope he makes as best a recovery as possible. I may think he was misguided, but that is no excuse for police burtality or vindictiveness.
Yoav Ben Zakai ,   Israel   (02.25.06)
11. Just Another Useful Idiot
The fact that this young man is aligning himself with PA Arabs makes him a legitimate target for the police. It is very difficult to protect these useful idiots when they are demonstrating alongside the PA Arabs. Let us be clear here - one cannot compare the violence at Amona and the violence at these left wing radical and anarchist protests. At Amona the people were devoted zionists (much like those who built the country!) and are seeking to save Jewish land. This young man and others like him support Israel's enemies. To make an im(moral) equivalence is obscene. To be sure many routes of the fence are indeed illegitimate. However, not because it encroaches on PA land, but because it is bringing PA terror cities closer to Jewish communities. Instead of opining and demonstrating about PA Arab concerns, this young man should concern himself with Jewish rights. The PA Arabs would just as soon shoot him dead as they would any Amona protestor.
Adina kutnicki ,   US   (02.25.06)
12. If this incident show us anything..
It shows us how even handed is the IDF is when dealing with terrorist settlers during Gaza pullout and when dealing with other non-terrorist Israelis who refuse oppression! Pity!
Abdullah ,   Kuwait City   (02.25.06)
13. Pete; How would you like it if your family was blown up?
Cry me a river about families being separated because I couldn't give a damn! My sympathy is with the families of the victims of terrorists like the Litle family whose daughter and sister Abigail was blown apaprt by a demonic suicide bomber. Of course they are thousand more families like this one who were vicitmized by Arab terrorists. I'm very proud of being American and America. If you aren't than get the hell out and join your Arab people!
Daisy ,   USA   (02.25.06)
14. Cohen; This is the price one pays for supporting terrorists!
What an idiot! I have no sympathy for people who aid and support terrorists!
Daisy ,   USA   (02.25.06)
15. Mohammed; There is no Palestine.
You belong in Mecca!
Palestiniansareamyth ,   USA   (02.25.06)

How can a person be so evil as you?It is disgusting reading your words! I guess YOU are half blinded(if not totally blinded!)
keren ,   sao paulo   (02.25.06)
18. pete, ithaca, NY, USA; What would you Idiot do
the bombing came first, the fence came second......... Your country would have done carpet bombing long time ago with daisy cutters but when and if Israel would do such, the world would shout - Gewalt geschrien - RAPE and Genocide The Anti- Terrorists Fence http://www.amitiesquebec-israel.org/texts/fence.htm Palestinian terrorism has forced Israel to build that protective fence. The international organisation Doctors of the World has qualified the attacks by Palestinian terror organizations against Israelis as "crimes against humanity". The report also concludes that "the Palestinian Authority cannot deny any responsability, at least because of it's ambiguous attitude towards those groups until now." Israeli lives has to come before Arab's inconveniences. The Fence can be changed or taken down the terror stops. Lives cannot be reverted
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (02.25.06)
19. keren,sao paulo: Stop being naive
When your neighbor tries to murder you, you build a fence, if some fool supports the murderous neighbor to take down the fence ...... you are defending your land I have seen fools .... but you really make a record run to be first

Why traitor?Because the guy has an altruistic and idealistic heart?Must be him ,at his 17ths,as tough heart as you are?
keren ,   sao paulo   (02.25.06)
22. he went there for confrontation
He knew it was risky by facing to the police. Police around the world behave in the same violent way. Either he was very naive or he was informed about the risks. He paid for his beliefs, but he forgot he was from the israeli side; palestinians won't grant him for what he did.
yoel ,   switzerland   (02.25.06)
23. Karma
Traitorous liberals deserve everything they get. Seeing as he hates his country so much he should have his citizenship revoked.
Rob ,   UK   (02.25.06)
24. A response to Abdullah of Kuwait City
"It shows us how even handed is the IDF is when dealing with terrorist settlers during Gaza pullout and when dealing with other non-terrorist Israelis who refuse oppression! " Given that you live in a totally undemocratic state which ethnically cleansed hundreds of thousands of Palestinians only a few years ago, your charges against Israel are utterly laughable.
Kate ,   London   (02.25.06)
25. A response to Keren from Brazil
I really shouldn't have to remind you that you live in a nation where the police force has killed thousands of street children merely because some store owners complained that they were "littering" the sidewalks. If this person had been demonstrating in Brazil he probably would have been dead by now.
Kate ,   London   (02.25.06)
26. Jews shooting Jews?
We need to look before we leap. Shooting an unarmed person from 20 meters away who is not threatening your life is not the action of a professional policeman. If the Border Police are there to protect Israeli citizens, then by all means protect them, but don't shoot them. Irrespective of one's political views, Jewish blood is not cheap, and we need to show more love and care for our own people.
Richard ,   New York, USA   (02.25.06)

28. keren,sao paulo: You can think as you want BUT

São Paulo's crime situation is rated CRITICAL. http://saopaulo.ds-osac.org/Reports/report.cfm?contentID=41238 Your country has cross border narco-terrorism and hostage taking Read any Travel advisory: Your Brazilian's Lula - is a real Lula-Lu decriminalizing drug users and opening centers across the country. Now may be you smelled some of this and are confused. Hope not. Wake up !

I am not naive nor fool, and I think a so muscular women as you should go to Israel and fight for Peace instead of staaying seated in your paded chair in Switzerland spiting hatred and a "so intelligent"thinking! And I hope you don't have a son for whom to suffer for if something like that happened to him!
