Sheikh Qaradawi has made stupid comments over th years justifying suicide bombing in Iraq and Israel. He does not speak on behalf of the entire Muslim or Arab World. He has been severly crticised by Arab intellectuals and liberals. His views are not too dissimilar to those coming from fanatical religious figures. There are extreme people in every religion and they must be condemned. Killing of innocent people cannt be justified whether the killing was committed by individuals or by the military. Can you give me one speech of shas that comes close to haradawi? For now I have seen Israeli Arabs believe Shas helps them more than there own people in the Knesset like that sh*thead Tibi. I never heard a Jew leader telling me that we should kill Muslims, and in the Torah not one time I saw a call for killing another people. Or a leader trying to let us believe that according to the torah we should kill. In Europe I saw Jewish leaders trying to speak with the Arabs and try open dialogue. I have not seen one demonstration of Arabs or Muslims against there 'leaders' or hate. I did see Europe with demonstrations against war and against hate. I did see demonstrations in Israel. I did NOT see demonstrations against leaders like Arafat who stole money from his own people. I did NOT see one Arab country saying something against another Arab country, but I do see this upon the Christians nations, they do have criticism against each other, and that is democracy. And one more thing, I makes me angry this bullshit about the wrong translations from Arabic to English. Every time it is a 'wrong' translation and 'we' did not understand it. Come on, alot of the Israeli's understand Arabic and speak it well, most of the Muslims do not understand Arabic and must blind and deaf follow there leaders. Give translators some credit, most of them are Arabs themselves and know very well what the person is saying, Arabic is not abracadabra people, it's not that hard! But maybe we should do the same; the world does not understand the translation from Hebrew, this hard and complex language.

Sheikh Yousef al-Qaradawi please try and understand that we Jews are your brothers. We are all created in the image of G-d. Hate is not a Godly trait. One should love his fellow human beings. Islam is one of the daughter religions of Judaism. If you would only look into the Holy Torah you would see that both Jews and Arabs are decendants of Abraham. Because G-d created us in His image, committing murder is the ultimate desecration of G-'s name.

If Qaradawi is not a representative of all muslims, well my friends it is the time for muslims to take actions against Qaradawi, and i repeat ACTIONS NOT SIMPLE WORDS OF CONDEMNETION.

you could have fooled me about Qaradawi. i have a lot of time differentiating him from all the other haters. i haven't yet seen much evidence of a moderate moslem backlash against this. if this were christian, hindu, jew... you'd get a lot of backlash. but where is the moslem backlash against this hate. if i don't hear it ... it's not there .. which means that the moslems agree with it.

Other than in their claim, a lot of [i]mullahs[/i] (obviously including Qudrawi--but especially include the Bukhari family, now of India) really represent themselves (I doubt they ever asked the ones they claim to represent what was actually needed). The Bukhari family was exposed in this (actually, their ancestry is not even Indian, as revealed by the surname) in 2002 by Sultan Shahin, a freelance journalist whose columns have appeared in "Indian Express", "Times of India" and "Hindustan Times". I can hope that Shahin will be up to doing the same with Qudrawi.

It is so sad to see the way many Arabs speak of the arab-israeli conflict. Their rhetoric is very extreme and is not in the hope of a peaceful solution. Israel and the west have given more in humanitarian aid to the Palestinians than their Arab brethren who speak out in favor of them and yet leave them to suffer terribly. ISRAEL WANTS PEACE! I fear the day will come when a war will formally break out in the middle east, caused by Islamic extremism and that time will be very sad and the truth is this: No matter what, Israel will always remain. It will remain a free and democratic land for all time. The only solution to the Palestinian issue is a two state solution.

If he does not represent the majority of Muslims, why is the majority of Muslims not OUTRAGED by this so-called hijacking of their religion? Why is the majorty so nearly silent when Christian churches of many denominations are attacked by Muslims because of the brief comment by a leader of one denomination? Why is it that this majority of Muslims usually spends far more time trying to justify the actions of their more violent counterparts by showing where the West is to blame? It leads one to wonder if this preacher DOES speak for the majority of Muslims, who only wish to appear more tolerant and objective.

Where are those who claim Islam is the religion of peace? Why is the religion of peace the preferred fuel for fires that are smouldering all over the world? Why is it a religion so easily co-opted for the greatest acts of violence and hatred seen in the world -- acts that are routinely commited against innocent civilians, like congregations meeting in a church? Could it be that modern historians have wrongly represented the crusaders? Could it be that they believed they were fighting for their very lives against religious fanatics who would not stop until they ruled the world in the name of Islam? Perhaps they just lacked the subtlty to distinguish between the Islamic terrorists of their day and the Islamic advocates of peace. It is, after all, a true subtlty because one can hardly hear the meek voices of peace over the din of those who call for violence on a daily basis. Is it not the responsibilty of the voices of peace in Islam to fight the battle against Islamic terror in their midst and, thus, show themselves to be courageous people of peace?
