I am shocked to hear Mr Rivera's desire to make Aliyah and run for Knesset. Watching him on Fox news, his talk is such b*llsh*t, he makes so many mistakes and inaccuracies in his reporting, it's shocking. While I cannot judge Rivera's sincerety in his declarations of commitment to Israel, his statements indicate that he has been infected with the Hollywood disease of shallowness and narcissism. His network blurbs about Israel have not been supportive and he shows a woeful lack of understanding about the realities of Israel's ongoing war with terrorism. In a recent article, he said that he wanted to buy a home in Israel but his Father-in-Law objected on the basis of security concerns and yet this person claims to be qualified to be a Knesset member because he would attack someone every day.

And very well written response to this asinine proposal. Maybe YOU ought to run...I would vote for you. We need someone with integrity, pragmatism AND resolve about this situation we have with all those guys that want us to, um, disappear. G-d willing, we will soon have a leader with those attributes to turn to.

I argee with Ash from Gush Etzion. The problem is that American Jews like Rivera have no real clue as to actual life in Israel. This is largly because of the language issue but also because American Jews for the most part are American before they are Jewish. Israel is not America and quite frankly that is a good thing. If American Jews was to make aliya then by all means do it but do not turn Israel in to America.
