31. JACK STRAW HAS DEMENTIA
DEBRA ,   USA   (03.11.06)
I THINK JACK STRAW, WHO JUST TURNED SIXTY, HAS DEMENTIA. HE SHOULD QUICKLY GET HIMSELF TO A GOOD JEWISH DOCTOR FOR TREATMENT. HE HAS ALREADY FORGOTTEN IT WAS MUSLIM FANATICS WHO BOMBED THE LONDON SUBWAY LAST YEAR CAUSING THIRTY-SEVEN DEATHS--NOT ISRAELIS. IF HE CAN'T EVEN GET IT STRAIGHT WHO THE REAL ENEMY IS, IT'S TIME TO RESIGN.
32. U.K. Wants ISRAEL UTTERLY DEFENSELESS Against Hostile
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (03.11.06)
Jew-hating Islamic world. During the holocaust America and Britain REFUSED PLEAS to BOMB the RAILROAD TRACKS to AUSCHWITZ. America and Britian REFUSED PLEAS to BOMB the CREMATORIUMS. America and the nations barred Jews from escaping into their countries. Britain barred Jews from escaping into Palestine. America, Britain, and the nations were complicit in the murder of 6 million Jews. Nothing has changed since the holocaust.
33. straw man needs to get the straw out of his ass
(03.11.06)
34. upside-down reality
Betsy   (03.11.06)
a world that stood idly by while milliions of Jewish men, women and children were being slaughtered is now dictating to Israel what it must do.. in fact it is Israel who should be telling the world what it should do, not the other way around...and, according to prophesy, it wlll end up just that way.
35. Abdullah #24
Jerry ,   NYC, USA   (03.11.06)
You know very well that Israel would never use nukes unless it was attacked with them first or about to be destroyed by an invader. Israel's nukes are purely defensive, and have been for 40 years.
36. #18
john ,   san diego, ca   (03.11.06)
i) balfour declaration is the piece of paper that galvanized the early zionist movement. ii) thousands of years? apparently someone fell asleep in history class after king david did this... and woke up at the U.N. general assembly ends the palestine mandate. iii) 'respect the will of people and nations' is shorthand for the fact that israel does not exist in isolation. In fact israel needs E.U. tariff free markets and U.S. handouts to survive as a state. Thank god for those wrong-sect american jews or the only language spoken over there would be arabic
37. Potentiel Threat?
Saw Weinstein ,   USA   (03.11.06)
According to your article. What did Straw mean by potential threat? Does Straw have dreams of a new British Empire? Israel needs a deterant more than ever especially with comments like these, and increased anti semitism and anti Israeli feeling in the world. Maybe it's time for Israel to make public it's capacity to defend herself.
38. #15< You are an idiot
Patriot ,   Redmond,Oregon USA   (03.11.06)
Why should Israel trust the world's motives? Look at what the international "community" has forced on Israel. Nothing but one concession after another. Thanks to Sharon and like minded cowards Gaza was thrown away to the islamofacists and now you want Israel to give up her nukes? Get a brain and a life!
39. STRAW IS MP FOR BLACKBURN-PLENTY MUSLIMS IN THIS TOWN-GET IT
Alan ,   South Africa   (03.11.06)
40. Let me tell you about the Straw Interview...
Alan ,   South Africa   (03.11.06)
It was on Thursday Night 7 pm, Channel 4 News Bulletin... The usual Anchorman is a guy called John Snow. No great mate of Israel is our John Snow... This week he was ass creeping the Mullahs in Iran from where he presented the whole weeks news broadcasts... As a "piece de resistance" he was due to talk to Minister Straw who was in London while Snow of course was in some One horse (or should I say one Camel) Town in Iran.. Unfortunately a lightning bolt cut the broadcast off and the interview was done by his London colleague... It appears as if Straw was supposed to make a friendly noise or two to the Iranians ie. ,by promising them that the Brits were going to handle Israel's Nuclear Setup... Now Straw is the MP ( Chaver Haknesset to you)for Blackburn... He has more Muslims in his constituency than you can find in the Damascus and Baghdad Market at rush hour on a Thursday. He relies on their support ,otherwise they will vote for the Liberal Democrats as has happened a few times in the UK recently....In the last election in Blackburn, the Muslims in London sent up organisers to Blackburn to get the voters to vote for the Liberal Democrats. It was on the TV.Straw is terrified of this happening, so from time to time he takes a tough line on Israel. Thank You.
41. To #24
Francois ,   Paris   (03.11.06)
If Israel uses all her nukes to send back Arabs from Middle-Age to Stone age, Middle-East could at least become a nuke free zone.
42. Straw
jessie ,   norway   (03.11.06)
the issue is - the leaders of iran are terrorists, and their friends are too. give them the bomb, and at the same time you give it to their friends. face the "issue" before it is too late!!! you un security members wants to be the one in charge.use your brain !!! stop your idiotic behaviour. remember some from the cold war.
43. The Middle east is a Jungle
Schwartze ,   Jerusalem   (03.11.06)
And in the jungle you are either a lion or you die. Do you know the Arab proverb that says "If you're not invited for dinner then you're probably part of the menu"? Well, Israel hasent been on the Arab's guestlist for over 60 years, which puts it on the menu, the only thing stopping the Arabs from fulfilling their menu are those bombs, like it or not, Israel is a very small country with limited resources and very small manpower, in a war of attrition it is sure to lose against the 300 million some Arabs surrounding it and another few hundred million Muslims hostile to the existence of Jews, and so, until Israel is invited to the Arab dinner it shall not give up it's nukes, because when the Arabs sit for a nice Family meal they do not enjoy the kilos of kilos of meat, vegtables and humus, but instead they lust for the desert they cant reach, oh yes they do. Bon appetit!
44. Should read
(03.11.06)
"Israel : Straw will be dealt with after Iran's nukes". The British were and stayed double faced bastards, seeking nothing but interests interests and interests, has been in the mandate time, when they winked to the Arabs after every massacre and came to confiscate weapons from the defence groups and then tell the Arabs that they can attack.
45. You Must Lead By Example
Ryan ,   Australia   (03.11.06)
I believe if Brittain desire a nuclear free middle east they have to dismantle their bombs also. I am a christian and i believe you must lead by example... do not persecute jews because we believe they killed jesus, the Lord wants us to love his chosen people. Only in love should we communicate. Any christian with war on his mind instead of love in his heart is unfit for the Kingdom of God
46. As if
Russel ,   TLV   (03.11.06)
Israel ever threated to wipe any country off the map... I wonder who the real threat is here. Anyway, who cares what the british think - the world is in a mess because of their empire
47. Straw for Brains - he can go back to the Land of Oz
Zoharah   (03.11.06)
Why is everyone always up in our business now that we are a strong and prosperous nation; with our own Army and our own defenses and one of the world's leaders in high-technology to boot? Why weren't these same people up in our business when they were slaughtering us by the millions only as recently as in this lifetime? Here's why...Because a strong Jewish nation makes all Jew haters nervous; no more leading our people to slaughter, that's why! When we say "Never Again" we mean "Never Again." You Brits are just a bunch of two-timing inbred misfits and certainly Israel will not listen to your ridiculous demands!
48. Wizard of Oz "Stawman"
Ray ,   Texas, USA   (03.11.06)
I believe the comments made by Stawman sizes up his diplomatic career. Perhaps he should visit the great wizard and get some brains.
49. pommy politicans
James Mcnamara ,   melb aus.   (03.11.06)
you can always bet that some pommy politican will come up with this kind of manure, why does britain need nukes, who would they want to use it against. they could use it against france,a great idea, but also very unlikely.
50. Straw and more Straw
Zvi ,   Los Angeles USA   (03.11.06)
Britain should cease its hypocrisy . Israel will never and should never give up its nuclear arms with which to defend itself against a sea of millions of Arabs who want to murder the Jewish nation and State. Britain's history of appeasement and blockade of Jewish immigation to Mandatory Palestine makes a joke of it now lecturing the Jews on how they should defend their existence. Get a life Straw (and Bevin and Chamberlain etc.)
51. Mr Straw: Remember Chamberlain and Hitler?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (03.11.06)
Mr. Straw, who is under attack from Iran? Which country is the victim of Arab terror and do missiles fall every day on Iranian towns? Mr. Straw, have you ever heard Israel call for the destruction of any country? Of course, the BBC, the network which will seize any opportunity to vilify and condemn Israel, jumped on the nuclear bandwagon story yesterday with a full documentary on Israel’s purchase of heavy water and a few grams of plutonium in the late 1950's. The British Government has once again shown that it is no friend of Israel nor of the Jewish People and Tony Blair and his merry men are cast from the same mould as Ken Livingston. In the light of this new attack on Israel, Prince Philip's "inhibitions" about Jews and the Party Nazi Prince Harry, the flag of the UK should not be called the Union Jack, but the Royal Jackass!
52. what about the disengagement?
RobertK ,   Jerusalem   (03.11.06)
I thought it was supposed to improve our diplomatic standing and make everyone realize how nice and reasonable we are. But the EU just pledged something like 250 mil to Hamas, and now Straw practically lumps us with Iran and comes out against our nukes. Hey, why didn't the disengagement help? Could it be that we're dealing here with structural problems of anti-Semitism, Islamic power in and over Europe, and Arab economic power in general?
53. Response to Gabrielle (post 29)
Abdullah ,   Kuwait City   (03.11.06)
Officially Kuwait boycott Israel until Israel ends occupation of all Arab lands occupied since June 4th, 1967 war! Yet I must admit that I know there are many Israeli products sold in Kuwait today but tagged with made in Jordan tags! I know this because I saw the same products in sold in Europe with made in Israel tags ;-) Salam
54. Response Jerry (post 35)
Abdullah ,   Kuwait City   (03.11.06)
Hello Jerry, You are mostly correct but you have forgot to add that Israel owning nukes gave her an advantage of using such nukes as a bargaining chip, blackmail tool, and a way to impose its own vision of how peace ought to be, and that is totally un-acceptable between parties seeking peace with each other! Peace.
55. Response to Francois ( post 41)
Abdullah ,   Kuwait City   (03.11.06)
Bonjour le monsieur Francois, I guess the nuclear power generated electricity in Paris has its toll on you :-) pouvoir la paix est sur vous
56. To Jack Straw
NYC Girl   (03.11.06)
Don't forget that all of your boot-licking subservience to your Muslim population has gotten you absolutely nowhere. Your country became the victim of a suicide bombing nevertheless. And drawing any sort of equivalence between Israel having nuclear weapons, and that maniac in Iran having them, is ridiculous in the extreme.
57. RobertK, Jerusalem: You hit the bulls eye right on
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (03.11.06)
58. 53: Abdullah,Kuwait City: So why do you come here
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (03.11.06)
There is NO legal occupation but you Arabs never want to see facts - your hate for Jews always over-rides ALL Now here is the Legal fact. Which you Arabs ignore: Yet it was You Arabs that caused this outcome, since still today you use the Palestinians at pawns against Israel for you wish for the destruction of Israel, you had promised to the Palis, when you attacked each time the Jewish State. But you lost each war you started: and you cannot bear that - this is the fact Israeli presence in Yesha does not constitute "occupation," and moreover, that the U.N. Partition Resolution of 1947 is a "recommendation" and not obligatory. "Up until 1948, Judea, Samaria and Gaza were a part of the British Mandate. In the 1948 War of Independence, Egypt illegally grabbed the Gaza Strip, and Jordan took Judea and Samaria, the 'West Bank.' Egypt did not claim sovereignty in Gaza, but Jordan deigned, in 1950, to annex Judea and Samaria. This annexation was not recognized by international law. The Arab nations objected to it, In 1967, after the Six Day War, these territories - which were originally meant for the Jewish Nation's National Home according to the Mandate Charter - returned to Israeli control." in 1988, King Hussein of Jordan rescinded its legal and administrative ties to Judea and Samaria. "According to international law," "Israel has full right to try to populate the entire Land of Israel with dense Jewish settlement, and thus actualize the principles set by the League of Nations in the original Mandate Charter of San Remo in 1920. At that time, the mandate to the Land of Israel was granted to the British, and the introduction to the mandate charter states clearly that it is based on the international recognition of the historic ties between the Jewish People and the Land of Israel. Clause II of that mandate charges Britain with 'ensuring the existence of political, administrative, and economic conditions that will guarantee the establishment of the Jewish national home in the Land of Israel.'" "Even the White Paper of 1922," emphasized the Jewish Nation's rights to the national home in the Land of Israel - while at the same time tearing away almost 80% of the mandate's area on the eastern side of the Jordan and giving it to Emir Abdullah." There is nothing in international law that requires a Palestinian state between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean - not even the UN Partition Resolution of Nov. 29, 1947. The fact that the Arab states did not accept the Partition Plan, voids the recommendation of any legal basis. Resolutions 242 and 338, which call for negotiations and a "withdrawal from territories" (not "withdrawal from THE territories") captured in 1967, are similarly "recommendations." These resolutions were drawn up under the UN Charter's Clause VI, which deals with non-mandatory recommendations - as opposed to Clause VII resolutions, "which are mandatory, and which deal with a threat to world peace, such as those taken against Iraq."
59. 55 Abdullah, Kuwait City : If you want to write French
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (03.11.06)
at least learn to spell and use grammar ........ stick to English you just made you fool of yourself. But that's your trade mark in general You are so obsessed with Jews and Israel - WHY why do you come here I forgot - freedom of speech is still not what it should be in Kuwait. I suggest you watch this video from Wafa Sultan: Don't miss it - http://switch5.castup.net/frames/20041020_MemriTV_Popup/video_480x360.asp?ai=214&ar=1050wmv&ak=null
60. 54: what a joke Abdullah: Black mail talk LOL
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (03.11.06)
You Arabs are the prime example of black mail To have a weapon of deterrence sitting in ones cellar - is black mail ? Last time the actual meaning was: 1. use of secrets to compel: the act of forcing somebody to pay money or do something by threatening to reveal shameful or incriminating facts about him or her. 2. coercion: unfair threatening or incriminating of somebody, as a way of achieving a result Now find a better excuse - You Arabs never run out of silly answers do you. It is still odd for you Arab Haters to come to Jewish sites it is not because you love us - we know you inside-out for centuries. But then of course while Israel already existed - you Arab States were not existing
