Excessive force my tuchus. If those 'protesters' had been Palestinian 'hilltop' hooligans, the cops would've used everything from flashbangs to rubber bulltets to live ammo. This is a charade and a mockery. There's no difference between a Palestinian who throws stones at our police and a settler (or for that matter Israeli) who throws stones at our police. They're both criminals and have to be dealt with equally!

of course there are major differences between palestinian rioters and israeli rioters. whereas both throw stones, one group would do a lot more if they could get there hands on weaponry. not condoning either, the majority of rioting 'hilltop youth' do not support the destruction of you, your family and anyone around you in order to get their way. the 'hilltop youth' showed in gaza during the disengagement that they will not lift a fist if they are not being threatened with violence. at amona the police turned up with horses and weilding battons, the youth becoming wound up at the sight of these things went too far. however, do not compare this with a society which has attached shards of glass, nails and even rat poison to kill and maim more people when it conducts its violence. www.kicisrael.blogspot.com
3. #2 both are the same...
ELOKIM ,   ISRAEL   (03.21.06)
If you were smart enough to see the similarities between the 2 terrorist (a person who uses terrorism in the pursuit of political aims) types. Then you would see that both are one in the same!!! As our Linda Rivera would say rock and hurt and maim a person and the people throwing the rocks should be dealt with accordingly and by any force and means to gain control of the situation. If the settlers were not there then they would not have had to worry about this then would they??????? OR if they would have listened to Israel in the first place!!! BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Everyone is at fault!!!!! Maybe Israel should be like Marzel and just want to kill them???? Stupid people!!! Think about it!!!!! and take responsibility for your actions!! AND quit trying to put the little people who are already down...even more into the ground!!! Haters!!!!
4. Excessive force? Was it the bloody heads or the video that
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica, CA   (03.21.06)
first gave them a clue. Could it have been the terrorist police swinging clubs at non-resisting youngsters? Any police officer that took the order to beat non-resisting Jews would have been a coppo in WWII.
5. Duh !We Knew That the First Day
Marcel ,   Florida   (03.21.06)
These worthless inquiries are led by idiots who take months to figure out what we already knew. The accomplish nothing but whitewash the corrupt government they serve.
6. One issue not mentioned
moish goldman ,   Israel   (03.21.06)
What about sexual harassment? This was not mentioned , and the term excesive force instead of the word brutality is like masquerading a terrorist under the term militant. Lets call a spade a spade. The three issues are the politicians who gave the orders, the sadists who carried out the orders and the irresponsibility of leaders of the teens known as the hilltop youth who I would not be surprised to find out were encouraged by shabak agent provocatuers!
7. wow elokim
ash ,   gush etzion   (03.21.06)
firstly steady yourself, you went off on a rant, completely unrealted to the points i made, but i guess thats easier than actually paying attention. yes a rock can cause injury, but i would summise that an explosive belt can do a little more damage. there were a few idiots who threw rocks, but the vast overwhelming majority just wanted to protest passively, as is their right in a democracy. you dont ahve to agree with their cause but you have to agree with their right to protest. but it was clear that the security forces came equipped for violence with mounted police and batons, etc. i would also summise that the protesters did not bring rocks with them but picked them up and threw what ever was around. now you dont ahve to be sherlock homes to figure out which was spontaneous violence and which was premeditated. dont assume to know what someone else thinks, because i dont equate protesters with terrorists i am suddenly baruch marzel. a weak argument always needs a way out like that. please stick to what you know. www.kicisrael.blogspot.com
8. ENOUGH ABOUT THE SETTLERS
(03.21.06)
You settler spoiled kids need to GROW UP and GET OVER YOURSELVES. We have much more important things to deal with than the scratches and bruises that you got, which you give Palestinians on a daily basis! Get a job, get a life, and get a house!
9. enough setters
Eran ,   Hod HaSharon   (03.21.06)
Move on from Amona. And build more communities. The land will continue to florish. Stay strong. We support you!
10. Olmert learned from Rabin
(03.21.06)
In the first intifada Rabin told the police to "Break arms and legs", and Olmert took it even further, even though the protesters in Amona did not initiate violence he ordered "Break heads", and indeed, we saw it, policemen on horses stamped protesters and Yassam got in close and started beating and beating and beating and beating, without any provocation from the protesters, with the opposite side of their batons aswell, in order to cause more damage, we all saw it, in the houses and the roofs when the people were only passivly resisting, I counted a cossack, oops, I mean policemen, beat a Jew 14 times on the head. There were only 25 arrested protesters because of the simple fact that 322 were sitting in the hospital with head injuries and broken limbs (mostly hands which they used to protect their heads, without much success). To summerise it all up, Olmert sought an electoral gain from the Israel hating left by smashing Jewish heads, a very small man and a 3rd rate political crook, he only got into the knesset thanks to the extra-contract Likud signed with Israel be aliya, how does #37 in the likud and the man who destroyed our beloved city, Jerusalem, gets to be a prime minister, dont ask me, but apprantly a 1/4 of the voters in Israel are going to make him one, may god help us.
11. Police kids and chicken

The police were so successful against defenceless kids so why haven't they been sent in immediately against the chickens this time? Resistance would be the same...
12. #1 #3 POLICE REFUSED TO DEFEND JEWS FROM ARAB ATTACKERS
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (03.21.06)
Early in January, 2006, at the soccer match between Beitar-Jerusalem and Sakhnin, Arabs threw stones at, and brutally attacked the Jews. Israeli police who were present refused to defend the Jews against the Arab attackers. Israel is Islamic paradise for Muslims who are allowed to break all laws. Being Jewish, and not Muslim, means facing persecution and the loss of human rights. Israel's police underwent special training to make the brutal, savage assault upon patriotic Jews in Amona. February 1, 2006 - a day that will never be forgotten - when Israel's police and IDF went to war against Jewish innocents. http://www.IsraelNationalNews.com/Must-Watch http://www.israelreporter.com/
13. Just a little sense
Israel ,   USA   (03.21.06)
Dont you people understand a very basic idea that the goal of an arab throwing a rock is to kill and he will do so in any possible way. The settlers just wanted to be left alone and when that done they would just be happy. You have to find a normal way to take care of that problem not what these cruel hateful police did.
14. Both extremes don't get it
Jonathan and Mollie ,   Pennsylvania   (03.22.06)
Evidently, most of the responders to this article, from the moron who calls himself "common sense" to those who excuse any violence by the settlers are ignorant and incapable of thinking. Thank goodness, the commission seemed to report on the facts and made judgements about the facts. There were four major issues to understand about Amona. The first was that the teenagers using force against the police were acting criminally and needed to be arrested and punished. Policemen who were hit by rocks or had liquids thrown at them did not deserve this treatment. However, that doesn't change the second point. There were hundreds of peaceful demonstrators who were not engaged in violence against anybody -- including the police. Despite the fact that they had the right in a democracy to protest peacefully, many were beaten to a pulp by police who were out of control and part of a police riot. Little girls were beaten savagely and peaceful protestors were charged and trampled by police on horses and this use of excessive force was substantiated by the commission findings. The third point, which has still not been fully addressed, involved the morality and competence of the leadership who planned this raid. They knew that there was going to be trouble and also were offered a compromise by the settlers as to the houses to be demolished. Since there was absolutely no urgency in removing these buildings (it's not as though the removal of the buildings would have led to the defeat of Hamas or instantaneous peace), there was really no reason for the excessive force utilized at Amona. Quite simply, the planners either were incompetent and blood-thirsty or acting with ulterior political motives. The Govt. planners should have accdepted the settlers compromise, set a clear deadline for the removal of the buildings, and tried to establish some sort of relationship with the besieged settlers. The fourth point is the disgusting and scandulous behavior of the Govt. officials after the incident. By denying police the right to testify, it was obvious that there was a cover-up. Ezra, was almost comical in his defense of his decision and every word out of his mouth made him seem more and more incompetent and a pathological liar. But the buck stops at the top and the acting Prime Minister could have helped immensely by apologizing to the injured settlers, launching an independent investigation, and suspending those responsible for the excessive force. That he didn't do these things makes us suspicious that he knew what would happen and yet approved the operation to show how tough he was. Pathetic. Finally to the idiot who calls himself "common sense". Soldiers who used deadly force against Palestinians were often outnumbered and their lives were in danger. When there are hundreds of rock-throwing teenagers against a few soldiers, the situation has become deadly--especially with the Palestinians propensity for cutting heads off or lynching them. In addition, the Arab rock throwers often had snipers shooting at the police and it is to Israel's credit that deadly force was not used more often. Soldiers in the IDF who were convicted of using excessive force against Palestinians have been punished (and rightly so) as opposed to those who lynched the 2 IDF reservists at Ramallah. The scene of the blood soaked animals proudly waving to cheering Palestinian crowds is an esxample of a picture being wotrth a thousand words. No punishment was ever meted out to the murderers of the 2 reservists by the PA. With the huge force of police at Amona, the use of deadly force was not necessary except that some of the protesters could have died from the police excesses. It could have easily turned into another Kent State Massacre. So Mr. "common sense". You don't know what you are talking about.

Just wait you have not seen the repression that the kadima gang will use against opponents. The cowardly police will be used as a private army against Jews by the kadima gang and their coalition partners.
