1. The NRP's betrayal of it's former voters
If Effie Eitam is right, and many of the Pensioners' votes came from the "National Religious Public," does that mean he will learn his lesson and realize that at least 50% (and probably more like 80%) of the "National Religious Public" isn't interested in voting for his extreme right wing messianistic ideology?
The NRP used to be the party of inclusiveness, of modern orthodoxy (to use the American term), social justice and religious moderation. These guys have turned it into a party of extremism. A one-trick pony toying with rebellion against the State of Israel. How could the old party of the religious kibbutzim so betray its community by running together with the party of fascism (NU)? No wonder they failed. They deserve it.
