61. Post #57, Fear Factor
Ari ,   Yerushalayim   (04.05.06)
I love debating with you arabs because it is so obvious how you try to pervert every argument and turn correct logical arguments on its head. Unfortunate for you, you won't succeed in perverting my argument. My argument was based on the fact that we are different, it was not an argument based on fear. The Israeli populace does not fear you, rather they fear the IDEA OF LIVING with you. That doesnt have to do with racism, rather it stems from the fact that the arabs are uncivilized. Again, look at every day life. Gaza is filled with gunmen shooting people, lawlessness, and criminal terrorist activity. Israel on the other hand, is not. The elections saw the rise of a party- kadima- willing to give everything away, while the arab elections saw the rise of hamas- a group committed to more murder and more terrorism. So tell me, when I make the argument based on facts that you people are violent and lacking democracy and the rule of law and that we disagree about all these things, how can you say that these facts stem from a racist opinion and not facts? We can - as clear as day- see the rise of hamas. The continued lawlessness. The continued terrorism. I know that accepting the current reality is hard for you, but because you arabs are not able to take responsibility for yourself you choose the easy way out and simply decide to deny the current reality. The fact is that you have gunmen killing each other in gaza, and the lawlessness in gaza and elsewhere is a testament to the uncivilized terrorist behavior that has infected your society from head to toe. This is truth. If you wish to deny reality that is your choice, but that doesnt change the fact that this assessment is completely factually accurate. Until you become more progressive and accept that people have a right to freedom of religion and freedom of speech and accept the norms of western society such as democratic elections, the rule of law, and an impartial judiciary, you will continue to descend into barbarity and lawlessness. This is your future. This is the reason we want to divorce ourselves from you. Either accept that this reality exists and begin working to reverse it so that you can join the civilized world, or shut up and become a mini-Iran. Personally, I believe you will do the later, because you are just not smart people.
62. More embarrassing Yairisms
sk ,   USA   (04.05.06)
How does Yair get published? How about this nugget: ". . . books by John Irving and John Grisham, the poet John Donne . . ." Yair is so vulgar that he goes for the cheap effect of "John, John, John," evidently not being aware of the absurdity of mentioning Donne in the company of Irving and Grisham. Has Yair ever read anything by Donne? Of course not. Have 1/10th of 1% of Israelis? Doubtful. Has a single Arab? Maybe one, living in England. "Shrinking Israel’s borders is far from being the magic bullet. It will reduce the threat but not obliterate it." Well, Yair is right that shrinking Israel's borders is indeed far from being a magic bullet. It's more like a noose, tied by Jewish hands around Jewish necks. Notice how irrational and absurd Yair is. We know from the Kadima Two-Step (you've done it, haven't you?) that "convergence" evicts one's Jewish neighbors and puts murderers next door in their place. Sometimes, it puts murderers up on a hill, in an excellent position to attack. How could anyone say that Pals are nasty and then believe that they should be relocated closer? The rational thing is not to transfer Jews but to transfer Pals to smaller areas as far away from Jewish population centers as possible. "This is the reason that terror organizations are so terrified by the convergence plan. It sends a clear message that we have decided to decide that our fate, despite all their efforts, is still in our hands." Does anyone buy this self-delusion and spin? (Well, 28 mandates worth, I guess.) You can send all the "messages" you want (dot-dot-dot, dash-dash-dash, dot-dot-dot will come in handy), but at the end of the day, you've kicked Jews out of their homes and given another base for the enemy. Give the enemy enough land, and you'll get an enemy state next door. There is neither courage nor rationality nor honor in voluntarily doing something that the Arab enemy wants. And please, don't doubt that the enemy is happy to take half a loaf now, consolidate, and go for more later.
63. Stupid arguments…continue...
Ben ,   South Africa   (04.05.06)
What absolute bullshit. If we are to believe the Palestinians, The Franks should migrate back to the steps, o, don’t forget the Germans… in England the people from Saxon decent should move back to Saxony in Germany, and the they could just as well join the rest of them in their march back to the Steppes. Around a few hundred million Caucasian Americans would have to leave America, because that country its, lands and rivers belongs to the native Americans…In Africa, the traditional Bantu tribes in South Africa should migrate back to Nigeria and pay for all the emotional damaged cause to the surviving 20 Cape Hottentots who, 2000years ago occupied the whole Southern Africa. Stupid argument… The fact of the matter is, the Jews returned to Eretz Israel and when their numbers increased too much - the foreign Arabs living on Israeli soil got upset, tried to attack and lost. Get over it.
64. Ben - Only stupid argument is yours.
Mo   (04.05.06)
It's the Israelis that are arguing for their "God-given land," not the Palestinians, genius. Israelis claim this land is promised to them from Hashem (God) and was theirs since the beginning of time. So it's parrallel to the Israeli argument that only Native Americans live in America, and all Saxons move back to Saxony and every group move back to where they originally were put because, like the Israelis say, God put them there. Sorry, I don't buy that one. Until you can prove to me that Israel is God-given to the Jews WHILE at the same time proving why America is not God-given to the Native Indians, I will not buy this argument.

Mo, I'm sure that Ben would like to take the first swat at your latest, but I seem to have arrived first. When you say "It's the Israelis that are arguing for their 'God-given land,' not the Palestinians . . . ." you are saying something that you must know to be false. Any Muslim worthy of Mohammed (PBUH) will not cede land to the infidel that has ever been occupied by Islam. And really, given the claim that Jewish and Christian prophets were really Muslims, no place is safe. One of many differences between Jews and Muslims is that the former do not have infinite territorial designs. The "Palestinians" in particular claim (erroneously) all sorts of ancient and religious connections to Israel. I do not grieve for American Indians. But let's be fair and admit that they lived in the Americas for a very long time before a European ever set foot here. Jews lived in Israel before there were any Muslims or Christians (of course). I do not claim that Europeans had a "right" to conquer America, or, for that matter, that the tribes already living hear had a right to kill those who preceded them. You, however, seem to believe that Johnnie-come-lately's like yourself do have such a claim on Israel. You say "Until you can prove to me that Israel is God-given to the Jews WHILE at the same time proving why America is not God-given to the Native Indians, I will not buy this argument." This is silly for two reasons. First, while Jews have always lived in Israel, many others returned in the 20th century. If suddenly millions of Indians materialized in Europe and wanted to resettle America, they would be in a situation similar to the Jews. After all, absolutely nobody argues that Europeans "returned" to the Americas. Second, you overestimate your importance. Nobody needs to prove anything to you. You not only have no right to Israel, you are immeasurably weaker and live there (if you do) only because Israeli Jewish leaders lack both balls and piety.

70. Congratulations, Yair!
Ron ,   LA   (04.12.06)
Yair, this is brilliant. This comes from somebody who AVOIDED YOUR ARTICLES FOR YEARS. Your article is simple and surprisingly accurate X-Ray of Israeli brain and clear illustration of Israeli reasoning about current issues. I always had difficulty to explain to Americans why at this critical junction of Israeli history, people are so bored with the election. Of course, as Israeli I can understand, mostly “feel", but thanks to you any non Israeli has a way inside of Israeli brain. Your analysis is a diamond in sea of mediocrity. For some reason I never liked you and never red your articles. Either you evolved to become a great journalist or I was a closed minded fool. Anyway I am saving your article to show to all my friends. Looks like you got yourself a new fan. Keep up with good work.

Ron, I am afraid that Yair really does accurately present the "Israeli brain" and "Israeli reasoning about current issues." I am astonished that you feel he represents your thinking.

Kerry L. Winn ,   Las Vegas USA   (04.23.06)
Yes, reality changes us all. Self-defense is not a sin, neither is being Jewish. Continue building the wall and protect yourselves, the most persecuted people for 2,000 years. Take care. I am now waiting for an Arab to jump in with bs. Sorry, but you started the violence a long time before Israel was declared a state. I have little sympathy for you.
