1. Leave the Ravs Alone
Lisa ,   Israel   (04.06.06)
2. Even wheather he doesn't resign...
keren ,   sao paulo   (04.06.06)
or , somehow, he succeeds to avoid indictement ,due to political or religious support, it is very good for the media and the public opinion to keep alert on his acts,as well as on other publics figures-religious or not-because the acts of a Rabbi must be the most ethical possible, otherwise it is really better not to keep such a post as an hypocrite facade.
3. 1 - Yes, let them do whatever they want, with impunity
(04.06.06)
Forget any annoying laws - they have Torah and interpret however benefits them!
4. #3 Wow you can see like G-d sees
Lisa ,   Israel   (04.06.06)
I wonder how you can see and know what actually happened other than what Mazuz said. Mazuz has lied in the past stating a legal binding contract is invalid and allowing Jews to be beaten (there is a way to handle a "protest" and what they did is what the Russians/Germans did in the past). We dont know exactly what happened and until then is Lashon Hara, gossip which is wrong for anyone to do under the Torah.
5. What ... no housing for the Jews?
Steve ,   USA   (04.07.06)
B"H I would be honored as a hotel to have such an esteemed personality stay on my tab. It would be a great benefit for the hotel. As a hotel, I would think it would even be worth paying for, if legal. Why is Mazuz meddling in this business if there is no legal violation? It is just that destroying religious Jewish housing is OK and providing it is not acceptable? Why is not the government paying for his hotel stay, like it does for other elected officials? What kind of government have you elected, Jewish Israel? Why have the evacuees not fully received their compensation and housing, and you are picking on the head Rabbi with silly accusations?
6. Watergate
Tzippy ,   USA   (04.07.06)
Can't help associating to the Watergate Scandal. The original offense was a petty break-in -- called "dirty tricks." One might cynically say, "Big deal." But what brought Nixon down was not the offense itself; it was the cover-up, the lying, the dishonesty around the issue. The rabbis could learn a lesson, here.
7. Learn from Barak and Herzog
Ilan ,   Ariel   (04.07.06)
The rule is that a) you have the right connections and b) don't cooperate with the investigations that you can get away with any crime. Itzchak Herzog might be a big crook and defrauded millions from charities for illegal campaign contributions for Barak, but since he and Doron Cohen invoked their right to silence they and the other conspirators walked free. Zilbershtein is now helping Olmert which is just another indication as to how corrupt Kadima is. Perhaps Mazuz can do something against real criminals for change, even if the y are his friends.
8. If the Rabbis are crooks
Richard ,   New York, USA   (04.07.06)
how can any Jew in their right mind follow them? And Olmert wants to bring these people in the government? He's crazy.
9. Even More Amusing...
David ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.07.06)
What's worth a laugh is that Mazuz himself attacked the tradition of making "public reports" when no indictment was called and over-involvement by previous AG's in political affairs and pledged to clean up the attorney general's office's act. Well Mendy, you've done a bang-up job so far. What's your next trick?
10. # 8
keren ,   sao paulo   (04.07.06)
I don't like harsh words, but I have to say you are an idiot!(and maybe a crook too!) The other day you came here brandishing that WE must defeat them!WE must go to War on them! Are you ,ridiculous one ,going to Israel to do it? So,shut up!You could curb yourself with an I think,my opinion, etc,at least! Now you come here saying that olmert is crazy to put them in gvt.Again, are you idiot or what? They were voted! Ihave seen your comments, and I think you are a mentally inbalanced newyorker!
11. Corrupt Rabbis help their corrupt friend
Nadav ,   Misgav   (04.07.06)
Every person in this country know that the religious authorities turned from a moral instance to corrupt bunch who abuse the jewish law to server their interest. Be aware that there is a lot of people in the country who love Judaism...but hat the Rabbis. And that is for a reason.
12. No #10, you're stupid and an idiot
Richard ,   New York, USA   (04.07.06)
because you don't know anything about me, and you're running off at the mouth? Not only have I been to Israel many times, but all of my friends who have come back from there, have told me just what's happening. So I know more than you do, moron. You can't even understand what you're reading, and always have to ask people, "What are you saying? What does that mean"? You need to learn about human emotions in English, and then you will have a better understanding of were people are coming from.
13. watch your words,understood?#12
keren ,   sao paulo   (04.07.06)
And watch them very well, because you are REALLY a jerk.An unintelligent and stupid jerk! Understood?
14. Ravs, Leave Israel alone !!!
Hram Al Masry ,   Tel AViv   (04.07.06)
time to secularize. Let Ravs do Rav work , politicians do politicians work. Stop religion meddling with state affairs short of looking like an Islamic country. Yes , our ancestors are the same, yes both religions are similar ....( although WE did stop lapidating women long ago ...) Israel MUST become secular for its survival . Ravs should NOT be a part of any political force directed at hampering a Laic government And Yes, becuase they are only human beings , Ravs can become crooks and should be handled as such by justice.
15. and the last word for you #12 Richard
keren ,   sao paulo   (04.07.06)
"Human emotions"are nothing if they are not properly linked to a fair and wise mental and rational understanding! Primitive people are driven only by emotions;evoluted people not!
16. #13,15 You don't understand English idiot!
Richard ,   New York, USA   (04.07.06)
17. Nadav,#11
keren ,   sao paulo   (04.07.06)
I totally agree with you. I stated my opinion ,many times, that Israelis should resolv their differences about the Rabbis, and get rid of the injust chains this elite is still impinging in Israeli society. What I thing though ,is that this process must be followed with conscience and without hate, otherwise will occur injustices. I have the impression that a blind hate was taking over the Israeli society against religious, without criticism. See what happened in Amona.See the behavior of these called "seculars";they are using the same methods they desaprove ,what is , using strenght to impose their opinions.See certain attitudes comming from governors. As you say, people love Judaism, and it is through these steps things should be resolved.Through Justice and ethic charge. Those religious who doesn't behave properly, must understand that society doesn't accept them anymore. They are just normal human beings and must follow and be subjected to the same laws and procedures of all. But we need Rabbis,on the other hand.We need them to keep the Torah and Jewish teaching always alive. But to be a Rabbi, should be a vocation ,above all, and not a lucrative business,as some use for.
