1. Olmert is for Olmert
Ben Temalion ,   Shiloh, MO USA   (04.18.06)
You weigh nothing except for your own favor and Jew hatred. You didn't claim your victory over your existential enemy. Instead you let your enemy remain in your midst, proliferate, aid them and let their numbers grow from external sources. While they commit pogroms against you not only in their homicidal Hamite homeland but in other lands they forcibly converted to the faith in Hamite values. It is not a matter of completing an equation. You had a victory to claim but by not doing so you allowed the war of nations turn into allowing your population to suffer the acts of terror. There is no moral equivalence in what they do to the non-belligerent population of your people in the lands they control and if you would finally claim your victory on your reclaimed land, act like a humane sovereign for them and your own, and enforce your enemy’s, terror institutionalized population’s right of return to their homicidal Hamite, ancestral, peninsular homeland in the historically accepted manner as has been demonstrated but denied to Jews who have no self-respect. You are so enlightened and progressive, with less than 25% of the vote you megalomatically claim a mandate to commit pogroms without regard to age, sex or condition, and without bloodying the traditional pogromnik goy hand. To tirelessly engage the most force since ’73 to bash the brains in and break the limbs of the best of you who love the land that protects all of you. To not compensate them or respect them for their loss of there occupation, immeasurable toil and suffering in any justifiable manner can only be called collective punishment, political persecution and you top it off by forcing them to continue to service their loans and insurance obligations. You will tirelessly seek victories over those who love the land sewn with the blood of those who reclaimed it, protected it and lived on it. You committed these crimes without an elected party ordering the pogroms if not pigua (as the vacated land is now a terror launching ground). You did this while ignoring the elected party’s charter and referendum you swore to abide by. You consolidated your dictatorial powers under the guise of democracy and etrog status in the eyes of your appointed law enforcer by breaking coalition agreements and employing something called United Torah Judaism in name alone to allow the government survive long enough to push through the pogroms and destroy over fifty Torah centers of learning. And the sick brain and unbound heart of the arelim makes the putsch official claiming to be the PM without the leadership position of the elected party and party authorized to form the government. Who elected the list of the putsch party? As if you or crazy uncle Simon Perske were? The last time I heard you were elected thirty-third to the party list of the elected party. Then there was the arelim putsch and low and behold you are slinking in the shadow of a dictator as his number two without a mandate. With victories over your best, changing circumstances for the worse by making yourself more vulnerable, I can see why you would be tired since you hate the land and its people. A land and a people you and your family have never served in uniform to defend but vigorously, perfidiously destroy.
2. more excuses why we should be impotent
michael ,   tel aviv   (04.18.06)
this is not a 'complicated' situation! Hamas is the appointed government and condoned the attack. The Hamas government needs to be attacked and obliterated. Not difficult the next time thay they're all sitting in the Parliament together. Yes, their will be a world-wide outcry against us and our friends will still be our friends and our enemies will still be our enemies a month later. A French bank is already preparing to move money from Iran to Egypt which will then go to Hamas., We need to think about countries like this ?! 'PM may name PA 'enemy entity,' open to attack'. The above possiblity had to be considered after a terror attack? I have a feeling of how Jews must have felt in Germany in the 30s. We have power but don't feel right about using it. Let's get proactive guys and stop being reactive. No other country in the world would put up with this b.s. Mike
3. Never has a Jewish leaders tried so hard to destroy Israel!
Jeremiah ,   Israel   (04.18.06)
My Jewish brothers and sisters don't be tried of fighting and winning but instead be tired of cowardice leaders who hesitate to protect us, be tired of placing the enemy's desires before your own, be tired of your homeland being chopped up and be tired of being treated like a puppet to the US. If the enemy doesn't swing his sword doesn't mean we have to race to fall upon it. Don't be a JEW be JEWISH!
4. What is Olmert waiting for : Condi Rice ?
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (04.18.06)
Israel needs to act now - and stop weighing what others think - They haet us any way
5. What is there to weigh?
Arie   (04.18.06)
The track is set: Finish the border; exchange the Arab triangle for the settlemements;create a no-man zone in the qaassam staging area;shut down the fuel and power supplies to the terrorists;close the crossings;and let the IDF be the IDF. Revoke the citizenship IMMEDIATELY of any arab MK who refuses to take an oath to the Jewish State Olmert surrendered his spine when Sharon had his stroke. hamass has no problem creating anarchy - the palis had no problem electing hamass - let them eat salt!
7. Timing schming, kill every terrorist you can find.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica, CA   (04.18.06)
8. Israeli public.....
Daavid ,   USA /ISRAEL   (04.18.06)
Sharon the bulldozer needed someone to slow him down , Olmert did a good job as number two. Now Olmert is the prime minister and guess who is number two, Peres. My sympathy for the Israelis. You voted for Kadima, you live with it
9. PAROLE, PAROLE, PAROLE...
HaDaR ,   Torino   (04.18.06)
The experts in being compassionate with the cruel and cruel with the compassionate have spoken. Razing to the ground Dresden, Hambourg, Hiroshima and Nagasaki PUT AN END to the massacres by yesterday's nazis and their alies and saved millions of lives, even if it was too late for the tens of millions who had died on the altar of appeasement. TODAY, we still have IGNORANT PSEUDO-INTELLECTUALS preaching appeasement with TODAY'S NAZIS, the DIRECT descendants of the best allies and collaborators of Eichmann! I say: JENIN LIKE DRESDEN, and NO MORE TERRORISTS WILL COME OUT OF JENIN! We MUST do like the partizans and the allied forces in WW II. "Pietà l'è morta" was the motto of the Italian Partizans. Pity has died. In Hebrew it is: "Those who are compassionate to the cruel, will be cruel with the compassioante" (Kohelet Rabbà)
10. Thank goodness that a responsible government is making decis
Judith ,   Haifa   (04.18.06)
decisions and not hotheaded talkbakers. I can assure (especially #1, which was way too long to read...!) you that Olmert, livni and Mofaz dearly love this country and have Israel's best interests at heart. It's very easy calling for bombardment of Pal. territories while sitting relaxed in front of a computer screen. Responsible leaders have to weigh numerous considerations, scenarios and options. We simply cannot just nuke them to solve the conflict, can we now? Most of the world is now beginning to see what we’re up against, so patience, we are not alone anymore. I believe the world will begin to help us by condemning these terror attacks, and the Pals won’t be receiving the same understanding and financial help anymore.
11. Olmert will bring more blood
Josh ,   Jerusalem   (04.18.06)
Olmert must go. This individual should take his wifi and move to live with his kids in NYC, Paris or any other place. This individual stinks. What a shame? How soon we will be able to get rid of him?
12. Hey Judith, you show love for Israel by giving it away?
Jeremiah ,   Israel   (04.18.06)
The world is not beginning to see what we're up against, they don't care. Why would they upset their oil cow for the sake of the little state of Israel? They, time after time, show their true colors by continual financial support for the Arabs. Condemnation doesn't mean squate without decisive action. And Judith the Jewish people should be fed up with the constant attacks by the arabs and the continual appeasement by Israeli leaders and the world in general. On the other hand we shouldn't be walking willingly to the gas chambers and at the same time critizing those are willing to fight. It must be nice living in your la la land.
13. retreat in the face of the Axis of Evil
Bartholemew F.D. ,   Fargo   (04.18.06)
The Israeli Ambassador to the UN warned the world of a new Axis of terrorism evil including Iran, Syria, and Hamas. So, unless the ambassador was speaking without the knowledge of Olmert, the PM must be aware of the unremitting hatred and fanaticism facing Israel. Martin Sherman's article clearly pointed out the results of the disengagement from Gaza. There has not been one positive result of that disengagementand supporters of the Gaza withdrawal have not been able to refute Sherman with even one benefit from uprooting the settlers. One responder wrote of the long-term benefits but did not list any reason to believe there would be any long term benefits other than stating there would be long term benefits. Instead the reality is that rockets are threatening Israeli towns and territories, weapons are being smuggled in, armed gangs are controlling the territories, and Hamas and Al Qaida have established a terrorist base. In addition, thousands of displaced Israelis have yet to find suitable housing or unemployment. Yet, Olmert is determined to cede more territory to the Hamas led government in return for nothing.. Israel loses strategic depth, the terrorists gain more territory to fire their rockets over a still uncompleted fence, and thousands of settlers will be evacuated and thrown into dire povety. Exactly, how is this unilateral evacuation going to help?
14. Bartender! Here. Quick!!!
Yoel Ariel ,   here   (04.18.06)
The Olmert administration is taking steps to retailiate against the PA-hamas. He is moving large numbers of Police and IDF units against pre-selected targets from Jewish "settlements" in Judea (Hmmm.Wonder where they got that name) and Samaria. The forces have been told to take off the kid gloves and be forceful and merciless in removal of the threat. He has called for further converging removals should any hostile element blow theirselves and others to atoms at any falafel stand or any makolet. PM Olmert is quoted as saying:"If these actions do not solve the problem of Palestinian murders, we will remove even more of these provocative settlements until the Palestinians give up. So there".
15. A government of cowards
Joel ,   NY USA   (04.18.06)
I wish that Sharon can rise from his coma and toss this piece of cwardice named Olemrt out.
16. Sorry Judith, most in the US dont see it.
Gigatt ,   Michigan   (04.18.06)
As long as there are the myriads of media reports quoting the Islamic terrorists the majority of the people in the world outside of Israel are not "getting it." Everytime someone says that Israel is an occupier or that Israel is to blame or that the Palistinians are only trying to get back what was taken from them, the average person in the world will not look to find the truth, but only believe the headlines or the soundbites. Most people in the world are too concerned about themselves to learn the truth. Israeli media has to stop letting these terrorists talk to the world. If they are only seen on the likes of Al Jazeera then there is a chance. AJ has no credibility left with the non-mulsim world.
17. Judith got it right
izzy f s ,   NYC   (04.18.06)
this is about the smart and strategic use of diplomacy and force... Hamas is on the defensive diplomatically, the terrorists of all stripes are militarily frustrated and feeling the impact of Israeli actions. However for too many of the folks who submit talkbacks this is about losing the battle for greater Israel...you who care more about real estate than the sustainable future of our people. No wonder the true heirs to Jabotinsky (Olmert, Livni, Meridor et al) are in Kadima and the followers of Rabin and Alon are supporting them from the left.
