1. ban them all from israel... please!

2. re #1
JJ ,   Berlin   (04.20.06)
Gosh, sounds a bit like what Hitler said about gays, handicapped people, Jews....
3. I was thinking of getting a place in TA but..
Edan ,   Beer Sheva   (04.20.06)
now I might think twice. Don't get me wrong I have no problems with homosexuals except for when they flaunt it. Why must me have a gay pride festival....?? Can't you be proud of being gay without having a parade?? Children shouldn't have to see two men kissing in the street..thats just wrong. Be gay, fine. Be proud, fine...Just shut up about it already!!
4. Same track
Muslim ,   Palestine   (04.20.06)
I thought we Muslims and Jews are on the same track in this guy matter... ? Guy lifestyle isn't acceptable they liked it or not...
5. re # 3
JJ ,   Berlin   (04.20.06)
Edan - would having a gay pride festival in TA put you off buying a place there? That is sad. As far as I am aware, Gay Pride festivals are all about fun, freedom and in a world which often sees too little of both of these, where really lies the harm? There is also the important political message of fighting for quality. Something which Jewish people should be well aware of and proud of. If you don't want to see 2 men kissing at a Gay Pride festival then you can simply choose to stay away. But Pride as I have seen it has always attracted families, young people, old people, straight people, black people and shock horror... people from different religions, all celebrating together and having fun! That kind of multicultural, multifaith togetherness is surely something special. The kind of attitude whereby someone says, "It's fine but I shouldn't have to see it or confront it" breeds the kind of suspicion and misunderstanding that is all too common place. "Be Jewish at home, I don't want to see it in the street" "Be Muslim at home, I don't want to see it in the street" - i.e. imagine not being allowed to wear the kippah or the hijab - isn't it better to allow people to express themselves freely, which in turn may lead to more tolerance in society, instead of fear, disgust or suspicion....
6. Leave the Homophobia to the Arabs
Mike ,   New York   (04.20.06)
In Iran gays are flogged and executed...in palestinian villages gays are tortured to death....Islam treats gay men and women with brutality....I am proud that we don''t have anything in common with their barbaric values when it comes to the treatment of women, gays, or anything else. I suggest that those Jews who wish to live in the dark ages move someplace where people share their values, like Tehran.
7. I agree with #3
Yael ,   Tel Aviv   (04.20.06)
I have no issues with gays either but why flaunt it. The same way i dont want to see a straight couple making out, i dont want to see a gay couple. What ever happened to humility and prudence? Whats wrong with keeping certain things private? Do what you will in the bedroom, but dont flaunt it on the streets. I am sure there are people out there that enjoy private time with barn animals, but they dont throw parades, do they??? I believe in live and let live, but some parts of life should be held behind closed doors. Period!
8. My boyfriend and I love Tel Aviv....
Andy   (04.20.06)
and Jerusalem, Haifa, Tiberias, the Dead Sea, Netanya, Sfat, the Golan, you name it.....face it folks we are as normal as you are. And we are everywhere just like you as we were also at Sinai. We too are Am Yis'rael and we will be in Jerusalem for World Pride in August because we love Israel and want to show our support for gay Israelis. I am glad Israel's tourism industry is waking up to us as a lucrative market. If some schmuck doesn't buy an apartment in Tel-Aviv because there are gay folks there, fine with me. His choice.
9. I hate to rain on your parade..
(04.20.06)
The gay lifestyle is a very dangerous lifestyle. Take San Francisco 1/4th gay males HIV positive and many other sexually transmitted diseases. So for them to act joyful is not honest and false advertising. Not sure why this is done or to go to Israel either.
10. #4
(04.20.06)
Well you're right. This is not considered right by the religious ones, but you will not find a religious gay, at least in most cases.
11. nothing to be proud of or ashamed of - enough already !
michael ,   tel aviv   (04.20.06)
perhaps there is nothing to be ashamed of as one cannot be ashamed of an 'affliction' but there's certainly nothing to be 'proud' of either. Homosexuality is deviant behavior - nothing more and nothing less. It deviates from the norm and that's all. Why try to make it something normal or something to be proud of ? it is neither. Enough already, Mike
12. Jewish and Proud
Jon ,   New York, US   (04.20.06)
Tel Aviv is a great city for all kinds of people, that is why tourists go there and that is why people who love the metropolitan lifestyle live there. The people of the city are beautiful, both gay and straight. I had a blast enjoying the beach culture, bar hopping, clubbing and riding on mopeds in Tel Aviv. I think this is a great idea! I went to the bar Carpe Diem and the place was just so relaxing and cool, especially the outdoor area in the back. I also went to Moadon HaTheatron which had such a great vibe. I hear TLV is amazing too. Go to Tel Aviv, it's a fabulous city!
13. smashing idea
ciara ,   australia   (04.21.06)
bring on the style, pizzaz and fun!!! fabulous darling -simply marvellous... just think of the labels that will arrive in shenkin....
14. Edan, #3...you are totaly right
manny ,   canada   (04.21.06)
15. Rotten Society
Mosher   (04.21.06)
Anybody that has ever visited Israel, knows how incredible rotten the secular society there is. It's full of prostitutes, gays, piles of garbage everywhere, rude/ignorant people and dog's shit everywhere. People have no principles and they hate religion. Like my Rabbi there use to say in hebrew "Be israel iesh pakhot Torah", meaning the people over there (except of course the religious people) is morally inferior to anywhere else in the world. I don't understand how come there still are people that find it hard to understand how the israelis vote for the Left, to give away everything to the arabs.
16. #3 i can explain it to you
maya   (04.21.06)
why do you need a gay pride parade? unfortunately for people to even get to the stage where they can say, like you (im sure feel enlightened to) say that they have no problem with gays- there has been a long -sometimes deadly, often violent struggle. the parade is IMPORTANT, because people have very short memories, and just as we must keep on having a memorial day for the holocast (which is in a proportionally fitting larger scale) we must celebrate with the gay community thus proving to them and ourselves that a person can be free to live and love. Don't bash a gay who, as you say, "flaunts" it, to me its parallel to the straight men who act overly Macho, yes, gays are people, and they come in a large variety- some of which feel the need to make a point!
17. Because of homosexuality Israel is giving up the Land
moshe ,   philly, USA   (04.21.06)
Male homosexuality is a death sin according to Torah. This is one of those sins for which the Land throws away her inhabitants. Israel should cleanse itself from this dirt. The law should be put in force against this. For beginning, gays sould be "treated" by hired abroad proistitutes. If not "healed", must leave the Land.
18. This is Israel's self destruction. STOP THEM!!!!
m ,   usa   (04.21.06)
This is Israel's self destruction. STOP THEM!!!! As those jews who didn't stop perpetrators of golden calf deserved death, so contemporary Jewish society ,which being in majority, does not stop this disgracing of the Holly Land, does not deserve living on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
19. This shame should be stopped. Someone should take actions.
moshe ,   philly   (04.21.06)
This shame should be stopped. Someone should take actions. Pressure should be put on turism industry, T-A Mayor. Hashem will not forgive silence of the majority of population in this case. That how the Land can be lost, G-d forbid! That why Iran, PAL's, and others are put against us. There is no choice, this must be stopped.
20. #4 There are just as many gay Muslims but they hide it
Ben Dover ,   Tel Aviv   (04.21.06)

Michael2 ,   Tel Aviv   (04.21.06)
That's why you live in the states? The country threw you? Sentences like "... I don't mind but don't want to watch it in the streets..." are more dangerous than comments like Moshe's. Prejedices wrapped by a nice sounding cover which makes it harder to fight against. Sometimes I wish people would take less of their life on the streets. But this applies also to religous people and I also tolerate that.
22. re # 17
JJ ,   Berlin   (04.21.06)
Can someone please translate Moshe's closing sentence on his talkback? I am not sure if my lack of understanding comes from the fact that the sentence makes no sense at all, or the fact that this person appears to be missing quite a vast number of brain cells.
23. To Jon, New York
NYC Girl   (04.21.06)
I think the Ministry of Tourism should offer you a job right on the spot. You sound like you'd be a great spokesman.
24.  Jewish and Proud
(04.21.06)
There are no Jewish "goys" or Jewish or "goy"
25. Muslim Gays - No
Mauricio ,   Brazil   (04.21.06)
There is no such thing as Muslim Gay. You will never see a thing like that in a muslim country. ***They are all macho-men***
26. Great
Colin ,   Israel, Jerusalem   (04.21.06)
What a fantastic idea I am not gay, and would attend the parade to show solidarity with the freedom of expression, as far as promoting pink tourism I think its great and Eretz should embrace you. Let all people get to experience the most wonderfull country in the world where democracy prevails. I am a born orthodox jew and married a conservitive girl my own country which im a citizen of and spent 3 years in the IDF does not solomise any marriages but that of orthodox origin, so we had to spend huge monies travelling abroad to get a civil marriage certificate, why should this country be run by a bunch of
27. PLEASE. say it isn't so

yes, Jewish teaching is in line with Muslim teaching if Muslim teaching forbids homosexual relationships (at least for men). as you can see, actions are not always in line with what God wants. that fact, in a nutshell, is what is causing all the grief and trouble for Israel. as a religious Jew(ess) I condemn the act while doing my current best not to judge the individuals involved. they, however, judge me-as homophobic, ignorant, etc while probably judging themselves as enlightened or somehow superior. the judging part is the red flag they need to be aware of...it shows they are on the wrong track. they cannot see it unfortunately.

30. Rainbow = God's promise
Virginia ,   Orlando, USA   (04.22.06)
Gay people have tried to claim the rainbow as "their" sign for years. Rally the flag makers. Make it known, the rainbow has NOTHING to do with sexual preference!!!!!!!!!!!
