31. ban all the heteros, too many of them
mo ,   almere   (04.22.06)
my religion says; "enough heterosexuality on this earth, too many people, too much nature and animal destruction, too much man-women problems" . Only homosexuality allowed and accepted.
32. reply 17, 19, 18, 4: hypocrisy, ignorance, and irrelevance
sk ,   USA   (04.22.06)
#17, #19 (moshe): First, you seem to have posted this on Shabbat. No big deal, except, you hypocrite, are talking about "death sins." Now, Torah talks about death penalties for a number of acts. And yet -- others correct me if I am wrong -- Jews have almost never actually implemented the penalties because of the need for witnesses to the sin, extenuating circumstances, etc. However, in one case at least a Jew was killed, and that was for desecrating Shabbat, just as you have done. What you omit from your "death sin" discussion is Lev. 20: 10 (adultery), 11 (incest), etc., etc. You are very selective indeed about what sins you froth at the mouth about, aren't you, Moshe? You can send all the gays you want to prostitutes, you idiot, but if Hashem intends to expel Jews from Israel, male homosexual acts will be, evidently, only a tiny contributor. #18 (m): If you are Christian (and I think you are), you have a lot of nerve talking about which Jews should and should not be in Israel. You are irrelevant in this conversation. #4 (muslim): "Palestine" doesn't exist, and I can't imagine anyone interested in what you, a squatter on Jewish land, and an accomplice to murder, considers moral.
33. What is the big deal ?!
Isac ,   Florida   (04.22.06)
in this forum I see quite a lot of guys complaining about people living their personal lifestyle. Leave them alone. What do you care. They don't do any harm! Let's worry about the f***ing Muslims who want to destroy Israel and the West instead of speaking against a group of people who choose to love a different gender.
34. Demographic Realities
David ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.22.06)
It won't last. The secular ashkenazim have a negative birthrate while the religious, settlers, and non-religious sephardim (more traditional bent to start with and more teshuvah friendly) have very high birthrates. The Tel Aviv crowd has two decades to live. They are being bred into the dustbin of history. The tide will change and Israel will regain her holiness.
35. Remove that gay porn image!!!!!!
(04.23.06)
36. going astray from G-D
linda rivera ,   N-Y   (04.23.06)
Unfortunately, all the signs are on the wall : first, conceding the Holy Land to the philistines and now condoning this abomination. Beware, Israël, the hand of G-D is terrible!
37. #25
Alejandro ,   Chicago   (04.23.06)
oh really? i guess you have never been to Lebanon.... check http://www.helem.net Beirut has been on the gay tourist map WAY BEFOR Tel Aviv
38. reply #36 (Linda)
sk ,   USA   (04.23.06)
I am really surprised at your bad manners. I do not believe it's really you.
39. Linda Please Focus On Hamas Not Gay People
Dick Cummings ,   London   (04.24.06)
40. Because God says it's unnatu
Steve ,   USA   (04.24.06)
It's unnatural to have a man sleep with another man like he does with a woman. It's unnatural to use every orifice in the body and every type of machine for sexual pleasure. Both are not used to gratify sexual gratification. God said it's an abomination. And the people who approve this devient bahavior is destined to walk the same road to Hell.
41. reply to #39
sk ,   USA   (04.25.06)
Dick, that wasn't Linda. I'd bet a week's pay. It was some anti-Semite who wanted to besmirch a Christian Zionist.
42. reply to #40
sk ,   USA   (04.25.06)
Oh thanks, Apostle Steve, for that learned reply.
43. medieval nonsense from Moshe of PHilly
Rustum ,   UK   (04.25.06)
Glad to read that while living in the USA you have the power to prevent gays from reaching the land of Israel: "gays sould be "treated" by hired abroad proistitutes. If not "healed", must leave the Land. " Also, so good to read that they should only be treated by goyishe prostitutes - which of course is a good method for healing anybody. Why write such rubbish? Why proclaim your own idiocy to the world? Have a great day in Philly. I'm sure there are no gays there.
44. Linda Riveras' diarrhesis
Rustum ,   London   (04.25.06)
So wonderful to see that you have added a diarrhesis to the name Israel. Now Linda, if the hand of G-D is terrible, as you say, why on earth has he not struck you down for all the dreadful, inhuman, racist and fascist rantings that you have posted? It seems obvious that He, in his wisdom, prefers the gays of Tel-Aviv over you. Is the fact that you write N-Y (as in G-D) significant?
45. Muslim Gays - No ??
Rustum ,   London   (04.25.06)
"There is no such thing as Muslim Gay" says Mauricio of Brazil. Obviously an empirical fact with lots of evidence. In fact absolute and total rubbish.
46. reply to #42
Steve ,   USA   (04.25.06)
Do I sense a little sarcasm? Ok, what I said may have been a little graphic but, hey, it opens the eyes and ears of most people who have them shut tight by putting a little punch into what I say than just plainly saying “homosexuality is a sin.” Do you agree?
47. reply #46
sk ,   USA   (04.26.06)
Steve, do you really believe that anyone's eyes and ears pop open when you talk about orifices and ... machines? (Well I admit I did wonder briefly if I missed Hashem's prohibition on the use of vibrators.) No offense, but do you seriously suggest that Israeli Jews should be guided by a Christian conception of "Hell" and eternal damnation? There are all sorts of issues regarding male same-sex behavior in Judaism, and I certainly am not qualified to discuss them here. One big one as I see it, though, is that creating an environment where gay Jews do not want to live in Israel is inconsistant with fostering aliya to the only Jewish state.
48. Reply to #47
Steve ,   USA   (04.26.06)
Do you seriously suggest the Israeli Jews should be guided by Homosexuals or any other outsider having their idolatrous ways that defile God's land? Look to the Jewish history and find for yourself how God himself forbid certain people into his Holy Land and the punishment the Jewish people incurred after allowing such idolatry. And, it seems, history will once again repeats itself.
49. to all of gay and gay-positive people who responded.
david ,   santa monica   (04.27.06)
stop trying to argue your cause - there is no need and/or point of arguing with a group of people who are only interested in their own opinion. let them say whatever they want it doesn't matter one bit. One can engage in a debate when the other side is offering legitimate arguments not rants and statements like "G-D hates fags". So, save your breath for a cause that is more meaningful than answering the likes of Linda.
50. Steve of USA
Rustum ,   London   (04.27.06)
Like so many people you wish to dictate a maximilist vision of Israel from the USA.. Does God not vent his anger also on the gays of the USA where one might find many examples of what you called "idolatrous ways that defile God's land." I'm really surprised that you can stand to live in the USA or maybe you wear nice big blinkers. Btw, simple past of forbid is forbad, so if you're gonna do lots of forbidding and then try and get your grammar right.
51. to all
pilpelet   (04.28.06)
i said it before and ill say it again, why a gay captial. do we have a stright captial that i dont know about, can gays do things in a gay captial that thay cant do any where else, i dont get it i like all people i really dont care who thay go to bed with or love and love can only make this country a nicer place to live in tel-aviv is great and has a great atmosphere, but the only reason that i can think of to call this a gay city is the tourist board trying to make money .........ok so whats wrong with that..... im not sure i ll get back to you later................by the way im a bit pissed off that most of the sexy well dressed well groomed handsom guys are gay. could some of you straight guys(not gays)make the effort stop walking about with a chip on your shoulder and two week old sox on your feet.
52. reply to #49 & #48
sk ,   USA   (04.28.06)
David, I disagree with you that I should stop arguing the gay-positive case, even though I grant that people like Steve and Moshe are hopeless. My point is to make sure that their dubious "arguments" are challenged publicly, not because I expect them to change their opinions, but in the hope that others who are capable of reasoning can see contrary arguments. You'll acknowledge that others do the same thing when anti-Semites blather here. Steve, you say "Do you seriously suggest the Israeli Jews should be guided by Homosexuals or any other outsider having their idolatrous ways that defile God's land?" I seriously suggest that Jews should guide Jews, and that gay Jews should not be second-class citizens in Israel. I also suggest that Christians have no business advocating the oppression of a Jew in Israel. I humbly suggest, therefore, that you butt out.
53. #28 all really.. judging others
Rick ,   Philadelphia, PA   (04.29.06)
Whether you are religious or not, or believe in freedom of choice, "non-heterosexuals" are people just like everyone else. In the Jewish Bible clearly G-d gives humans choice, freedom to think, so why can't we? Do we not learn from the bible? So let people live their lives, and let G-d judge, after all who are we to judge other people?
54. Reply to #53
Steve ,   USA   (05.01.06)
Is it right to pass a person on the street that was beaten by thieves? Is it right to leave the flock and search for the lost sheep? Yes, Scripture does say to not judge others, but it also says to confront sinners who have fallen from God’s law and have them repent of their sins. If they repent, it is good. If they continue to sin, it is out of your hands and you are not responsible. There is a difference between rash judgment (eating meats, drinking) and just judgment (Idolaters, adulterers, sodomites, abusers of themselves with mankind, thieves, the covetous, revilers, extortioners). The latter being from God. The Jewish law also states that two or more witnesses were required to condemn someone. For it is written “Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. So, if you see a person fall, do you not help him up?
55. Please accept my most humble apologies
Steve ,   USA   (05.01.06)
Who am I, a humbled peon living on the bottom-most rung of the world ladder, to try to bring together God’s people – if there are such a people. True Jewish people would not divide the land God gave them. True Jewish people would not contaminate the land God gave them with idolatries of other nations and of things that are not of God – of things that are not natural. True Jewish people help and encourage each other no matter where they live in the world. God would help the Jewish nation if they all cried out from the furthest corners of the world, all at the same time. A cry that will bring together His people (so that they will not perish for it is written that without a vision, the people perish). A cry that will shake the foundations of the Earth.
56. Pride and Tourism
Daniel ,   Washington, DC USA   (05.02.06)
Gay Pride. Wow tough to sell to religious right wingers of any religion except perhaps eastern ones like Hinduism. Pride in oneself and ones community is something to be celebrated and honored. It helps to bring about Tikkun Olam. Gay Pride in the US A started as a protest against aggression and anti-gay actions and rhetoric. It appears that Israel is taking action to promote tolerance. There can be nothing wrong with that. When reaching out to gay tourists discourages or angers some people, it encourages others. It demonstrates that as a people we are able to overcome prejudice and bigotry thus helping bring about Tikkun Olam. Two men kissing, two women kissing or a man and a woman kissing all of these are expressions of love. What can be wrong with that? I for one am proud to be Jewish. Proud to keep Kosher. Proud of Israel that it sees the need for a Pride parade and gay tourism. Proud that there is something positive taking place in a country with so many harsher realities. The Ministry of Tourism is wise to see the positive things it can do by this promotion. I hope to be able to help out. One final note: Gay people are often the first in a decaying neighborhood in the US and they bring about ecconomic growth and stability that no other community has managed. Thereby revitalizing and gentrifying that community to the point where the gay people themselves can no longer afford to live there. Think about that when you next see a home that has deteriorated but the flowers in the garden are suddenly being tended with care
57. Steve, Moshe, and others like them
Daniel ,   Washington, DC USA   (05.02.06)
Adonai, G-d, the Lord...you do presume a lot to quote and speak as though you know the Almighty's thoughts. Jews as a people have always debated Torah. Even when it was assumed the debator was wrong they were welcome to air their beliefs. Israel was created as a haven for all Jewish people. The only State on earth where we would never have to worry about being welcomed home. For you who think homosexuality is a sin, you are welcome there if you are Jewish. For you who are gay, you are welcome there if you are Jewish. The Declaration of Independence states," THE STATE OF ISRAEL will be open for Jewish immigration and for the Ingathering of the Exiles; it will foster the development of the country for the benefit of all its inhabitants; it will be based on freedom, justice and peace as envisaged by the prophets of Israel; it will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture; it will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions; and it will be faithful to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations." Would you like to introduce addendums to say "except you?" The US keeps trying to add that into their constitution but the rest of the free world is clearly more tolerant. If you would like to introduce "Christian" thought why not look to your bible and read the part carefully where it says, "Judge not lest ye be judged." Gays fight in the military, care for their countries raise families and are active members of society.
58. #36 IS AN IMPOSTER, FALSELY USING MY NAME
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (05.02.06)
It is disgusting that once again an imposter(s) uses my name. sk, thank you for knowing that was not my comment!
59. My two cents reply to #57
Steve ,   USA   (05.03.06)
Well, I said what I wanted here. I gave my two cents worth of thought about this situation. I wash my hands. All I can say now is wait for the Judgement Day which, by the way the weather looks, should be quite soon. to #57... The Torah / Bible includes the thoughts of God. But these books are just an introduction between you and God. After developing a stronger relationship with Him, He reveals more of His thoughts to you that you won't find in the Torah / Bible. You must remember, even Satan can read the Torah / Bible, but God reveals more to His select few.
60. #59
Daniel ,   Washington, DC USA   (05.03.06)
Now I completely understand. You are one of G-d's 'select few.'
