1. The leftists are as ridiculous and naive as the ones
Jenny   (05.04.06)
in the states. Every year they get more radical and blind to the threat we are facing. The wall protects Israelis you idiots, stop your ridiculous protesting. Anyone destroying the barrier should be arrested for defacing public property and receive a minimum of one month of jail time. The extreme left is finished in Israel. Oslo has proven to have been a farce and a horrible mistake. Instead of admitting they were wrong, the leftist camp gets louder and louder and reveal themselves as the jokes we knew them to be years ago.
2. Did You Guys Watch That Video?
Raz ,   Yisroel   (05.04.06)

3. wall
Human   (05.04.06)
When you want to build a wall around your house for security reason, you will build it in side your part but not inside the property of the others.
4. Ynet = IDF Spokesman?
Shai ,   Tel Aviv   (05.04.06)
the village is losing more than 50% of its land to the settlement Modi'in Elite. The route of the fence protect "future" residents of an illegal settelment and even the Israeli High Court has ordered to stop the building there. untill today, 11 people have lost their lives in the protest against the fence. some of them were kids. the popular committee of the village against the fence is trying to wage a non violent struggle, but the army is using lethal weapon in those demonstration and than complain about stone throwing...
5. "Wall"
Hilda ,   USA   (05.04.06)
Yesterday , my husband and I watched a movie in Hebrew ---and Arabic on Sundance. If I tell you it was poor propaganda to make you feel sorry for the poor (sic) Palestinians believe me. There was one government person telling about the reasons for the fence but overriding it was showing all the inconveniences that the Palestinians had to undergo--Imagine they had to actually show ids and tell where they were going? What other country which bordered on people who were out to kill them and steal their land and devastate their belongings would dare to actually ask for ID? I remember even 50 +years ago whenever we crossed the border into Canada, and back to US we had to show birth certificates and empty our suitcases and all of car contents. They were only looking for bootlegged booze or cigarettes . Israel is trying to protect lives. In the movie one Arabs said-- Beofe the wall we were a peaceful community. The wall is worthless .All it does is stop us from having peace. My Answer is if there if there was peace, there would be no need for the wall
6. one lie
noam bahat ,   israel/venezuela   (05.04.06)
just one very visable lie, among meny disinfo' in this article, the person who lost his eye was not a soldier but an activist, a friend of mine named Matan Cohen, who was shot by soldiers. noam
7. not tall enough....
Danny ,   America   (05.04.06)
That fence needs to be a really tall cement wall. The arabs have given more than enough reason to be excluded from Israeli life completely. I suggest shooting with real bullets those who throw rocks. And kicking the asses of those left wing Israelis. What a bunch of dummies.
8. The Fence
Moussa Suwwan ,   Paris/France   (05.04.06)
The fence is illegal, especially when it is built on the lands of another people. Enclosure is illegal, especially when you pretend that you are the only democracy in a Middle Esat full of fundamentalism and obscurantism. Occupation is illegal, especially when the occupier does not respect the Geneva Conventions. Adoni, when shall you understand that your policy is the most fertile element for those savages obscurantists? It is as simple as this: The Israeli Government has the power to establish a just and comprehensive peace for the benefit of both sides. Have enough Ethics and courage to do it. Please put an end to your complex of persecution, you see evil everywhere, or, the World is full of positive aspects, exemple: thousands of Jews all over the World participate in a smart way in every scientific, social and economic domains and are not persecuted. My best friends in Paris are Jews As a matter of fact, you are the persecutors of another people, who inspires to live peacfully on his land, beside you, as good neighbours, if givin the chance to do so. Shalom.
9. Too soft, # 7 is correct
Kissel   (05.04.06)
I agree w/ #7. Kick those left-wingers behinds, badly. And when soldiers get injured, open fire w/ rubber coated bullets. I thought it was a closed military zone? Enforce what you say, or don't be a soldier, correct?
10. The Wall, etc
dorothy ,   Herzliah, Israel   (05.05.06)
Number 5 presumes that there are 2 countries involved. There are not. There is an occupier and an occupied. And the harassment that Palestinians undergo involves much more than showing docutments at checkpoints. Jenny and #7 and for all others who endorse the Wall, it is well to keep in mind Robert Frost's poem "Mending the Wall" which begins with the statement "Something there is that doesn't love a wall," and after repeats this, stating that it is wise before putting up a wall to consider, "What I was walling in or walling out, And to whom I was like to give offence. Something there is that doesn’t love a wall/" In today's world of missiles walls do not protect. Missiles go over and tunnels under. Not force but the willingness to make peace instead of continuing expansion for the 'greater Israel' can bring peace. Not the criterion of demography but that of democracy can bring peace. A small forgotten datum helps understand what this conflict here between Israel's governments and Palestinians is all about. When the UN divided historical Palestine into 2countries, giving Jews 55%, the Jews actually owned 6-8% of the land--not an iota more. Additionally, the Palestinians were over 70% rural, the Jews only 20%. But there had been a Holocaust. Countries of the UN, including the US, to salve their own consciences for not saving the Jews, decided to unjustly unload them on the backs of the Palestinians. The battle originally was over land, but after Israel exiled 750,000 Palestinians and demolished their villages (around 500) so that there would be no place to return to, and refused to allow the refugees to return, the conflict also included the plight of the refugees and their right to return, as well as the issue of Jerusalem. Israel and the US were the only 2 countries to reject the Saudi Arabian proposal to end the conflict and achieve full recognition of Israel by all the Arab countries. So it is not the Arabs who are at fault for the continuation of the conflict. Israel's governments are more interested in expansion than in saving lives. 22,123 Israeli soldiers have fallen in battle since 1948, 138 of them this year. Over 1000 Israeli non-combatants have died in violence these past 6 years. For how much longer do you expect and want Israelis to live by the sword? For how many more years will Israeli mothers continue to sacrifice their sons for the sake of expansion. For how many more years will the Israeli uterus remain a mechanism for producing soldiers? Not walls, not the use of force, but the willingness to recognize the injustice done to the Palestinians and the willingness to correct it--to do unto others as you would have them do unto you--can bring peace and a cessation of killing. Jews lived in Palestine together with Christians and Moslems in peace for 9 centuries prior to Zionism. May they someday soon do so again.
11. #8 and #10; Typical Arab liars!
Palestiniansareamyth ,   USA   (05.06.06)
There is no Palestine or Palestinians. The land belongs to the Jews. Arabs should go back to Arabia. http://www.sullivan-county.conm/id3/palestine.htm
