Let them fight with each other to death... Israel will be safe with its army...
2. crazyness ,only crazyness!
keren ,   sao paulo   (05.09.06)
Money to Mahmoud Abas...ummm...Good hands indeed! These people are crazy!I don't know what they mean...It is not possible to keep giving milions ,knowing these milions are either being robbed or being used to buy arms. Is is beyond me to understand this sickness! Why quartet don't construct an hospital for pals and put some phisicians there ,and open some bakeries ran by them to give pals food for free, instead of releasing tons of money? Can somebody understand their logic?I can't! But ,as long a they put their own money and don't ask Israel to do so,I am fine. But opposite,I will become angry, because this would be an essay to humiliate Israel, and I think it is enough for that!
3. Why should the world care???
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (05.09.06)
These people brought this on themselves. They don't know how to behave like normal people. All the money they have - and they have plenty - is being used to purchase weapons. They have sucked from the world's teat long enough. The world should give its money to Darfur instead!!
4. Peace Partner?
Michael   (05.09.06)
The Palestinians claim they have been a nations for thousands of years yet, the first opportunity they have for freedom and they kill each other. How could such a n histircal group maintain itself forthousands of years if after 8 months they are at war with themselves? They can't even be at peace wuth themselves
5. Yet another threat (tears on my pillow) works like this:
Riv ,   Jerusalem   (05.09.06)
Kill Jews Hate Jews Manipulate history Have terrorists as leaders Vote the TERRORIST ticket (or who is the worst terrorist group I will vote for them) Steal populace money Steal money from all the enablers of the world Lie Incubate Terror Use money for bombs and weapons and what do you get: The enablers give you even more money. Buckets full of money!! Including the US. So we see this is one way of many to tell the world not only **terror pays** but it is rewarded as well. It is also the #1 reason why the slaughter of Jews in this last intifada turned into a pity party for the Palestinians. It also greatly diminished the worth of Jews while propping up and legitimizing cold blooded killers. War on Terror post 9-11? Hah! Now throw anti-Israel bias and hate for Jews/Israel into the mix along with appeasement to the arab street and bingo, the victim becomes the victimizer and the victimizer the victims. Bring on the money and keep on telling those lies..... Until the absolute truth is told by world leaders Israel will continue to be demonized and the Palestinians will suffer not one consequence! No one will expect them (Palestinians) to turn inward and heal themselves as every human is required to do, no way! The world will continue to wrongly and falsely feel sorry for them and this little so-called 'conflict' (as the world likes to document it as) will continue thus allowing the enablers and co-dependants of Jew hate to move forward unabated.
6. Pay them to leave
Piranha ,   Chicago, USA   (05.09.06)
Pay every Palestinian Arab a suicide bomber's wages ($25,000) if he renounces his right to live in Israel, including Yehuda, Shomron and Aza, and picks up the money in another country. For any lover of Israel with the available funding, this is a tremendous opportunity.
7. money to Israeli hospitals only for their treatment
kate ,   england   (05.09.06)
8. there are many many more deserving countries - help them !
michael ,   tel aviv   (05.09.06)
9. I am sceptical: This statement bothers me
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (05.10.06)
........the United States was moving closer to the stance of other members of the Quartet – Russia, the United Nations, and the European Union – that an "international temporary body" should be set up to transfer funds to PA workers. ............. So does that mena again - as we saw with Arafat - we'll somehow will manage to get the aid there - and then again it will give Hamas the feeling - They pay for the poeple - so we can keep spending for terror and put the feeding onto others shoulder Read between the sentences - and see
10. Condomleezza, don't blame Hamass...
Jeremiah ,   Israel   (05.10.06)
the arab people overwhelmingly voted them in "democratically" mind you. These are the same arab people that celebrate when one of their children go boom and murder innocent Jewish civilians. They celebrated when Abbas, America's lover boy, was in power and they'll continue to celebrate if there is another group leading them. They will also celebrate when the U.S. is attacked again. They are a bunch of blood thirsty animals that need to be deported from our land. Your country only makes the situation worse for us by America's continued efforts to legitimize them and their false claims to our land and your continued efforts to create loop holes to fund them... for humanitarian reason, as if they behaved like humans. Instead of waiting forever for them to stop scheming of new was to kill us and one day become civilized, let them evolve in back in the Arabian Peninsula or whatever arab country they came from but not here in the Holy Land.
11. reply to #9 (Gabrielle)
sk ,   USA   (05.10.06)
Now be forthright, Gabrielle. We both know that the US will continue to see that the "Palestinians" are funded in order to appeal to Europe, which is passionately anti-Semitic. Since Bush thinks he needs Europe, I don't blame him for his pro-Palestinian stance: there is no political reason for the US to side with a self-loathing, self-destructive Jewish Israel if it causes the US to lose European support. Of course, I think Bush errs in making Europe relevant. But that's just me. Note, though, that Merlot and the non-English-speaking Zippity Do Dah seem completely absent from the international discussion. If Merlot had said, for example, that the "Quartet" cannot be an honest broker if it supports Hamas directly or indirectly, and threaten to withdraw recognition and support for this entity, Europe and perfidious Russia might actually change their behavior.
12. Response To #7 Kate
Patriot ,   Redmond, Or USA   (05.10.06)
What a stupid statement. So the Israeli hospitals will benefit from this money?? Interesting, and please back this up and show us your sources? Sounds like a bigoted, racist statement to me and if you think otherwise then again please enlighten us. England has a pretty lame track record on how they have treated the Jews at times. By the way, the majority of Israeli hospitals treat just about ANYONE who needs treatment including Palestinians and Arabs. Tell me where will you find a hospital in the an islamic country openly treating Jews and all who come there for treatment?
13. Yeah!
Palestinian ,   PALESTINE   (05.10.06)
HA HA! We all knew the world was going to eventually aid us because it is the right moral thing to do. Zionist theives have stolen *our* tax money in an attempt to starve us but there is always good in the world to counter Zionism. Well, not always, but this time.
14. HAMAS GOAL: CONQUEST of ISRAEL & EUROPE
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (05.10.06)
Hamas knows that words, not actions, was all that America and Europe required of PLO/Palestinian Authority terrorist organization, who broke ALL agreements. For many years, American and European tax dollars financed the war against the Jews. The military wing of Palestinian Authority Abbas's Fatah party, the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, is responsible for massive terrorist atrocities against Jewish innocents. U.S. EU, UN and Russia demand Israel give half of her tiny land to Islamofascist religious supremacists. The land in Gaza, Israel surrendered to the Islamo-Fascists has been transformed into Hamastan - terrorist training camps and a base for global terrorists. The U.S. EU, UN, and Russia with a political/religious agenda of forcibly removing hated infidel Jews from the Biblical heartland seek to duplicate in Judea and Samaria what Islamic terrorists were empowered to achieve in Gaza. The Hamas goal is conquest of Israel and Europe: HAMAS Targets Spain By Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld FrontPageMagazine.com | January 2, 2006 It is not only Palestine that children in the West Bank and Gaza are asked to liberate; now they are asked to liberate Seville. The HAMAS children’s magazine, Al-Fateh, in a recent issue, (No. 66), tells the children about the city called Asbilia (Seville) and calls on them to free it, together with the whole country, from the infidels and to reinstate Muslim rule... Qaradawi, calls on Muslims to conquer Europe, saying: “Islam will return to Europe as a conqueror and a victor... Apparently encouraged by successful Jihad against Israel, HAMAS is now raising the ante, going international. Just as they have indoctrinated a generation of Palestinian children to commit suicide attacks against Israelis, they are now expanding their targets to include the rest of the Caliphate – beginning with Spain. It is only a matter of time, before today’s Palestinian children, and others exposed to HAMAS’ publications start offering themselves up for the next stage of Jihad in Spain. http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=20726
15. More money .. no audits = more arms purchases
Andy   (05.10.06)
I don't know who is stupider the Palestinians who elect morons or the west that gives them millions.
16. another international temporary body for the PA
howard ,   pacific coast, usa   (05.10.06)
How many does that make? HAMAS wins again. By holding a gun to their own people's heads, they get everyone to cave in and rescue them. And when Hamas operatives shoot rockets at innocent people across the border in Sderot, none of these great international benefactors does anything about it.
17. Dealing with screaming children
Yoel Ariel ,   out and about   (05.10.06)
A small child screams, kicks his feet and throws a tantrum, striking out at all of the adults nearby. Q: Do you give that badly behaving child a lollipop or a toy? Q:Smack him on the butt and tell him to shut it? Q: Ignore him until he calms down and behaves appropriately? A: Rewarding negative behavior wether a child or the PA, or an incompetent government, brought to power by the foolishness of an ignorant and unsophisticated electorate, NEVER works.
18. A little more to keep them fighting - nice!
andrew ,   miami,fl   (05.10.06)
19. Big mistake
yakov shani ,   afula   (05.10.06)
They must be made to go down on their bended knees, just like Japan and Germany were forced to do. They must be made to pay for their crimes. Total capitulation is the only answer and the only solution, in the short term it is humiliation but long term it will be dignity.
20. Personal responsibility
Jed ,   new york   (05.10.06)
Going for the sympton not the cure. Even if the money makes it to them it will not help. This is about other countries saying look how caring we are. Look at the players with exception of USA, they are thieves.
21. ****** 1938 = 2006 ******
R Mogelson ,   USA   (05.10.06)
ITS A FACT: 1. The world has decided to feed a radical terrorist group's citizens, who's endorse wiping out a soverigen Democracy off the map. 2. Giving food to citizens who support Hamas, would be like The world cares not for the Jew. Which leads me to.... 3. The Jews are alone in the world. No one will save Israel. Only Israel can save Israel. In sumation....We had better protect ourselves, because the world wont. I hate the thought of weakling Jews.
22. A road already well traveled
josef cohen ,   bkk   (05.10.06)
Seems like only yesterday it was necesary to save the people of Iraq with an international buffer institution to save the people from thier gov't. We all know how that ended up. Meanwhile Hamas can and will siphon these funds and all the PA funds they raise for their own ends, arm procurement etc. without any accountability, cynically exploiting the misery they create. For consideration
23. What if?
jason white ,   afula,israel   (05.10.06)
Some nations got together to send money to al-quieda,the taliban, basque sepratists, the chechnyans, ect. How would those morons in the quartet feel? Enough with this stupid quartet. We need a govt. to tell them they are not our impartial and are trying to hurt us.
24. This better work.
Boaz ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (05.10.06)
I doubt it, but doing nothing is a non-option
25. Let's see if the EU, UN and Russia now capitulate on Iran
Shai ,   Israel   (05.10.06)
It's a Hobson's choice - damned if you do, damned if you don't. But one thing is clear. If there's a quid pro quo here, this decision just lengthened the conflict between the PA and Israel. The best thing the quartet can do now is to allow one side to clearly win. Especially the EU's support of the PA has caused this conflict to go on much longer than it should have, because the PA sees there is no price to be paid for refusing a compromise - the EU's support allows the PA to believe that time is on their side, no matter what they do. And to comment 13, "your:" tax money comes with a promissory note. You don't get it, according to the Oslo Accord, under the conditions that are now in place with the Hamas government, irrespective of whether it was democratically elected. The Oslo Accords allow Israel to withhold "your" tax money when the PA government supports terror organizations. And, "our" tax money should go to pay for "your" electricity, "your" care in our hospitals and the like. So, we'll subtract "your" debts, because you never pay them on your own, from "your" tax money.
26. The Quartet has lost its moral clarity
Michael   (05.10.06)
the PA has a choice to move toward peace or War. the PA doesn't want to recognize israel right to exist. Therefore, how can Hamas really be serious about peace. All civilized countries in the world first want a quiet life and war as alast resort. Yet, the Palestinians Elected their government. They have chose an unnatural decision. Why? does the world have to support a terorist government on the grounds of humanitarian reasons. how perverse is that. So we have to support a people who continue to fire rockets into Israel, who would rather starve than except Israel's right to exist. Why? We should be caring about Darfur, where the people are victims from something beyond their control. As oppose to diverting limited resources to a people who have inflicted themselves out of hatred and unwillingness to give violence and Mayhem. The Quartet and the U.S. if they want to be taken seriuosly, should find its moral clarity. Without proper Morality what are we ?
27. Use your brain, please!
SHAI ,   T-A   (05.10.06)
The predicament of Israel is complex : on one side, not to subsidize the Hamas-led administration and, on the other, to avoid the chaos in the territories, which could emerge from the collapse of this administration. So, a solution is precisely what the Quarter studied i.e supporting the palestinians without going through the Palestinian authority. Indeed, beyond the slogans, the reality is that if the territories become a lawless land, it will fall to Israel to restore order there and to make function the public services, as the sovereign power in charge of them.
28. Sacrificial lamb
Ram ,   London   (05.10.06)
The US makes all the rhetoric of being a staunch ally of Israel. To a certain extent she is, provided it suits its interests. In what must be considered a major betrayal, they simply agreed to sacrifice Israel's interests on the say so of the Saudi, Egyptian and Jordanian officials, mainly backed by Mr Solana, without pre-conditions, in order to buy support for the Iranian nuclear question. Incidentally, the Palestinians are neither short of medicines nor essential foods. Guess where the money will serve them. Israel must NOT rely on its "friends".
29. aha! Who is wright and who is wrong now?
atmawi ,   Historic Palestine   (05.10.06)
Those who climp the tree, has to find way down. Hamas here to stay, live with it, die with it, it is people choice. Next election if Fatah won, I will advocate Fatah victory, and will be the first one to say Fatah represent me. I have no problem in this. not at all. When governments do not respect the elected government, that is means that they are not respecting the people who voted for this government. And this is HURT.
30. #27
Ram ,   London   (05.10.06)
Apparently, according to DebkaFile, the lawlessness in Gaza has nothing to do with the lack of medicines or essential food as these are being allowed through on a regular basis by Israel. It is the result of a Fatah-Hamas power struggle.
