Hamas seems to think recognition of Israel's right to exist is negotiable. Who or what ever gave them that idea?. Recognition is not negotiable...either ther recognise Israel or they don't. Any negotiation of borders and other matters will follow AFTER recognition. Israel already recognises Palistinians right to have a democratic state..one that is not led by a bunch of terrorists...is that too much to ask for? Hamas..you guys are a bunch of hypocryts...suggesting recoginition of Israel on the one hand and calling for armed support from your so called allies on the other!! Hamas needs to wake up and smell the new century. Things are not 1967 anymore and certain demographic realities have taken hold in the almost 40 years since the war that arent going to be reversed simply because they demand it. Arab intrasigence made it impossible to give back the whole of the territories captured in '67 and due to the military realities of the time, it made sense to create buffer zones or settlement. The 'funny' thing is, at the root of it, the 'Palestinians' themselves have no actual claim. Egypt gave up the strip back in '79 or '80 and Jordan gave up the WB in 1988. Who did they give it up to? No one as far as I can tell, leaving these territories under Israeli administration along with the stateless Arabs in their midst (although I am sure some have Jordanian citizenship). If you want to say Israel should negotiate with them towards a settlement, fine, but the 'Palestinians; should give up the fantasy that Israel is going to uproot 1/4 of a million people to satisfy their demands from a war that was lost long ago. Not gonna happen. At best, they can hope for about 92% of their dream coming true. At worst, they will have the terms dicatated to them a lot worse than 92. You just wished they'd care more about whats best for their people now than a pipe dream that will never become a reality.

The terrorists think that they can coerce Israel to give up its historic homeland that the Jewish people inherited from their forefathers--Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel) 4000 years ago and had fought for and sacrificed their lives to defend over the millennia. The Arab Islamists originated from their historic homeland in South Eastern Arabia. Instead of trying to wipe off Israel and using their 1967 crap to better accomplish their ultimate goal of annihilating Israel, they should return to their country of origin. Israel is an independent democratic country and its duty is to protect their people and provide a homeland for the Jewish people. First if you had even the shallowest of understanding of why and how Israel exists today as it does, and I am refereing to modern history only, 1917 onwards, you would not have said what yoy did. Second, specifically with reference to 242, Israel not only accepts it and wants it but was instrumental in drafting it and passing it, now this may seem strange to you, but it is fact. In order to understand this you must read it very very carefully and also have a very very good command of the English language. It is not as you and most people are given to understand, Israel goes back to 1967 and suddenly we have peace and recognition. If you are open to explanation I can giver it to you, but it is more complicated than you believe.
