I visited Iran (Persia I still call it) in the sixties, and found the country to be unbelievably beautiful and the people were friendly, intelligent and very hospitable. Dear Alan, While Israel is the homeland of all Jewish people, I cannot deny the fact that my family was in Iran for over 2500 years. It is because of the persian people that my family, is persian Jews were able to flourish (as opposed to under Arab muslim rule). Why is Iran not the homeland of Iranian Jews? Iran has one of the most ancient Jewish communities in the world, and Jews have been in Iran for over 3,000 years. Also, they are Iranian citizens, and they are a part of Iranian society. They can be Israelis too if they want, but they are as much a part of Iran, as Israel.
