Is the acquisition of Whale, an access and security company, another step in M$'s attempt to gain access to every computer using Windows? M$ is justifiably denying updates to illegal Windows users but is also guilty of selling an operating systems that is so flawed that it needs constant updating and upgrading. All Windows users have experienced that well known notice about Windows causing an error and having to shut you new program down. Further, it is not enough for the software giant to dominate the computer world but it demands that you have a license for each computer that you own. To the private user, who today has a desktop, a notebook and one or two computers for his kids, this involves the outlay of NIS600 to NIS1000 per machine! M$ should be compelled to charge a minimal or nominal fee for each additional computer owned by one person who is not using it for business. Gates is trying to bring computers to the 3rd World. $100 a computer. Does he think that people who don’t earn $100 a year and who are starving are going to put computer literacy before food? As long as Microsoft and other software companies continue to charge exorbitant prices the hackers and software pirates will continue cracking and hacking their protection systems. Now, with Windows Vista on the horizon, all those who have legitimate versions of Windows will now be expected to lay out more money to upgrade to the new operating system. The day will come when M$'s bubble will burst and Microsoft will be Microplop!
