1. Post the names and addresses of "peace now" scum.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica, CA   (05.19.06)
Maybe their life won't be so "peaceful." Make them live where the qassams are falling, a close call might help them wake up.
2. convergence plans
chaim ,   phoenix usa   (05.19.06)
I am of the strong opinion that the fears that the Jews living in areas selected for expulsions is all for naught, as it will never become a reality. The so called free world follows the dictates of their oil suppliers and since the Moslem world is against any action taken by Israel except for them to commit suicide will oppose and refuse to recognize any plans for any peaceful settlement forthcoming by self serving Israeli politicians. This so called convergence plan will never succeed as the entire Moslem world and thus all the countries vying to curry favors from the Moslems will never agree with or grant recognition to any and I mean any Border separating Israel from their Arab neighbors, not the 1967 cease fire lines, not the 1949 cease fire lines, not even the proposed UN division of the British mandate separating Jews from Arabs. All the forced expulsions will produce is to impose a new war which will result the retaking by force of arms the areas vacated by Israel and used by the Arabs to continue their ongoing war using one excuse or another as their reasoning for the continued violence, as is the case of the Sheba farms .

4. The Day ISRAEL had their PATRIOTIC MKs ATTACKED by POLICE
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (05.19.06)
Three MKs were attacked at Amona: Aryeh Eldad, Effie Eitam, and Benny Elon. The faces of the three patriotic Jewish MKs are very well known. The police knew exactly who they were attacking. Arab MK Bishara has called several times for an intifada against Israel. Other Arab MKs support the violent overthrow of Israel. Can Israel's government explain why the government allows Arab MKs to commit TREASON and hate incitement to a second holocaust of Jews, and patriotic Jewish MKs, Ministers of Israel's government are viciously attacked by Israel's police? Peaceful protesters were savagely attacked by police who used all their might in hitting the protesters repeatedly with metal batons. Passive Jewish protesters sustained multiple, serious head wounds. Other victims suffered broken jaws, ribs, and limbs. February 1, 2006, the day recorded in history when on the orders of Olmert/Kadima, 7,000 Israeli police and IDF went to war against Jewish innocents instead of against Israel's barbaric enemies. http://www.IsraelNationalNews.com/Must-Watch http://www.israelreporter.com/
5. I dont wany to hear. You are in America
Yoel Ariel ,   US   (05.19.06)
Ahhh! Now it seems the Sayeret Savion and the Airborne Strike Units from Herzliyah will have to hide and call in their Cops-on-a-stick and the Kassam/Yassam-nick-im to try to do something that neither benefits the state nor it's residents, nor gains any advantage against Israel's blood enemies. No. I dont mean the Jews of Judea-Samaria. Massive civil dis-obeidance. There should soon be some calls from the Kadima-krats and the Limousine Loborites to say nothing of the Meretz aparachik heros, who never met a Jew they did not want to disappear; to beat, imprison, hang, shoot and then take stern actions against anyone who may be so horrid as to express an opinion openly. I wait to laugh at the stifflers of freedon and democracy. Democracy? We don' need no steeenkin' democracy!!
6. Being Mr. Nice did not work Last Time

9. Settlers, you have lost the elections!
shai ,   T-A   (05.19.06)
We have a government which will put an end to your lawlessness. All the outposts are illegal : they should be dismantled. No democracy without a state of law.
10. Free expression? We don' need no steeenkin'free expression!
Yoel Ariel ,   US   (05.19.06)
Shai: Try reading: Democracy for Dummies It may give you a tiny teeny itsy bitsy insight into how democracy works. Based on what you write, you have NOT grasped the concept yet. It's really not all that hard and you will feel better about yourself afterwards. Think Ghandi, King, and all of those pre-state Israelis vis a vis the Brits circa 1946

Whenever the Meyer woman becomes even more foul-mouthed than usual here in talkback, it is a sign that something good is taking here in Israel rather than in Santa Monica
12. Highly FAVORED ARABS Allowed to ENDANGER ISRAEL
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (05.19.06)
THE SELF DESTRUCT DOUBLE STANDARD by Yoram Ettinger, January 20, 2006 Illegal Arab construction has become a norm, led by the Palestinian Authority (many PA officials reside in illegal homes), bankrolled by Saudi petrodollars and observed by the wide-closed eyes of Israel. Illegal construction has become an effective means to challenge Jewish sovereignty over Jerusalem, to undermine major infrastructure and housing projects in the Negev and Galilee, to limit the freedom/security of Jewish movement along major transportation arteries, to facilitate terrorism and to exacerbate crime. Over 1,000 illegal houses are built annually – by Jerusalem Arabs – since 1997. Only 30-40 are demolished by the authorities. About 10,000 illegal houses are built, annually, by "Green Line" Arabs in the Galilee, Negev, "Triangle", Lod and Ramleh. About 100 are demolished. Since 1967, there has been more Arab residential (largely illegal) construction in Jerusalem than Jewish construction in the capital of the Jewish State. But, Israel is enforcing the law in an iron-fist manner when it comes to a few scores of Jewish houses throughout Judea & Samaria and Hebron (built on a Jewish-registered property, which was ravaged by Arabs in 1929). Legal and governance impotence have characterized Israel's battle against illegal Arab construction, which threatens Israel's sovereignty and the rule of law in Jerusalem and all over the country. Palestinian documents, found at the PLO's "Orient House", highlight illegal construction as a key instrument in the campaign to erode the Jewish character of Jerusalem. According to the documents, the Palestinian Authority (PA) has enticed illegal construction in Jerusalem's Arab neighborhoods of Shoafat, Beit Haninah and A-Zaim, in order to prevent continuity between the Jewish neighborhoods of French Hill and Pisgat Ze'ev, and to avert the unification of Jerusalem and Ma'aleh Adoumim. Illegal construction is raging along Highway 443, the critical road from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, with the aim to transform it into an Arab road, threatening the security of Jewish transportation. While a 1999 Palestinian document anticipated that Israel was determined "to demolish 400-500 illegal houses in Beit Haninah and Shoafat", a 2000 document notified the PA that "no need to worry", since Israel would only demolish a few houses, and illegal construction could proceed with full speed ahead. For instance, illegal construction in the Jerusalem Arab neighborhood of Silwan has been a platform for intensified terrorism and felony. Forging real estate titles has proliferated in the Arab sector, robbing state-owned land as well as privately owned Arab land, fueling extortion, protection, gang-wars and the importation of illegal Arab residents from Hebron and other towns to Jerusalem – a fertile ground for terrorism.
13. #9 Do YOU raid 100's of illegal arab outposts too?
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (05.19.06)
If you are so concerned so much with "illegal" jewish presense in the state of Israel, I hope you join protesters and actions against the hundreds of arabs building outposts all over the place, if only lawlessness is all what you really care about , as you said before. But I doubt you choose the left out of "social justice" law abiding conduct but yoiu are solely concerned with ending Jewish presence. If I happen to be wrong please let me know of all the raids you've participated destroying arab illegal outposts. And we'll prove that LAW is really all you care about. Please post back about some of you "good actions"
14. it is not the state of israel.
Shai ,   T-A   (05.19.06)
The territories are not the state of israel. We are dismantling illegal settlements in territories which don't belong to us : they are not jewish, they are israeli in a non israeli land. As for the arab viilages in the state of israel, let the courts decide.

Please do not talk nonsense. You want to be a leftie, ok, you want to express your opinion, ok, but please no nonsense. I could give you a long list of reasons to refute what you say. Not rhetoric, not opinions but based on international law and convention. please do not embarass us and play into the hands of our enemies, those who want to kill you and me, that is left and right, no distinguishing between the two.
16. #15. OK?
Shai ,   T-A   (05.19.06)
(1) the international community, including the US, considers the territories as occupied. (2) the state of israel has recognized gaza as an occupied territory, in its presentation to the supreme court, to justify the expulsion of israelis from their home (it couldn't have done it in israel) (3) on the ground, a territory held by force against the will of the large majority of the population is by any sense ''occupied'' (4) I know the arguments of the other side. Their foundation is flawed by the tenet that a territory without sovereignty (which is indeed its case) cant' be occupied but why? sorry, but I am a lawyer...
17. Make it a hundred demonstrations
jason white ,   afula,israel   (05.19.06)
Not everyone can get time off from taking care of their children, working or studying.Have a hundred or two hundred demonstrations in every city and village in the country. Start a petition that says the govt. will be responsible for the bloodshed that will follow. They should know that the people will hold them accountable and they shall pay as all traitors eventually do. This is just ruining the army.Who wil want to be in a combat unit if it is to fight and ethnically cleanse Jews? These animals in charge will destroy even the army to carry out their plans. This is the most evil govt. we ever had!

I am exceedingly glad that you are a lawyer and if you can give me reasonable answers to some points that I shall prepare for you, answers based on sound legal arguments, I shall accept them, I shall not change my mind, but I shall accept that what I believe to be international convention has no legal standing. I shall post my points in a future post this evening and look forward to your response.

yakov shani ,   Israel   (05.20.06)
December 1917 General Allenby enters Jerusalem thus completing the conquest of that part of the Ottoman Empire. Turkey, at no later date contested the outcome, the Empire disintegrated and Britain under International law was resposible for all the conquered territories. Prior to this, in October, a cabinet decision was taken in London to issue The Balfour Declaration which indeed was issued November 2nd. 1917. Britain subsequently was mandated by the League of Nations to administer and rule, not as an occupier, but rather as a sovereign ruler, this was not military rule or occupation. Britain decided that eventually the land was to be partitioned into two states, the so called west bank was to be included in Israel. Does all this not constitute international convention? Did the steps and decisions that Britain took have no standing in international law ? If not, what was the point in it all ?. Was the subsequent outcome of the Treaty of Versailles baseless and without foundation and lacking leagal "teeth"? 1947 the UN votes for partition, thus ratifying the former British decision and policy. 1948 the UN voted for the establishment of the State within the parameters of the former British decisions and policy which were, as stated, ratified by the UN in 1947. Does all this count for nothing ? Does this not constitute international convention ? If not, then again I ask, what is the point in it all ? 1967 was not war forced upon us de cassus belli, I refer to the closing of the Straits of Tiran which not only contravened international law per se, but caused us to have no access to our own territorial waters. We regained in this war that which was ours by previous arrangements and agreements of international standing and convention, and which had been lost by us through weakness in 1948. Was it not so ? UN 242, and I am sure you know better than I do, was worded in such a way that the two sides had obligations and that basically they were to work out and define their borders, again with recourse to all the previous events listed herein. Does this not constitute international convention and law ? If not then what is the point in it all.?Jordan renounced all claim to the West bank in 1988 I believe, again, does this not mean that she conceded that it was not legally hers, and that she had been an illegal occupier and that it was ours by previous convention? I do have many more points. I shall accept what you say if all these carry no legal weight. I shall not change my mind for other reasons which have no bearing on this dialogue.
20. yakov, you are a tough guy!
Shai ,   T-A   (05.20.06)
1947 creation by the UN, successor of the League of Nations, of two states (Israel and Palestine) and of a international body, the city of Jerusalem. 1948, war. The palestinian state to be and jerusalem are partitioned between israel and jordan and egypt (for gaza). The international community doesn't recognize it, which explains why the embassies are in T-A. 1967, israel takes over the territories and is the successor of jordan and egypt as the occupier without title of these territories. Which explains why the embassies in T-A have no juridiction on these territories and why the consulate generals in jerusalem are not under the authority of these embassies. The fate of these territories will be determined by negociations between israel and the palestinians, since israel has accepted the two-state solution. Of course, I could be much longer but I am less courageous than you. Shabbat shalom!

yakov shani ,   IL.   (05.20.06)
Gaza was rejected by Egypt, do you want to force it down their throat ? My points are based on international convention as you well know and it is very difficult to refute them. On the basis that they are indeed irrefutable then Israel like any other sovereign state has the right to determine her Capital, the fact that others do not wish to recognize this for reasons which are not anchored in any legal premise, but rather for political reasons which they believe serve the best interests of their country, has no bearing on the fact that it is the capital, declared as such by a soveregn state, on territory that we have already established belongs to that state by international convention. Embassies in Tel Aviv. Once again, a political statement and it makes no difference to the fact that Jerusalem is the de jure Capital. The international community can not set up institutions and organizations which come to decisions through the formation of policies and then declare that the implemented upshots of these decisions are "illegal" or unacceptable. It makes a nonsense and a farce of the whole thing. The so called "negotiations", or so called "peace process", just are not worth relating to because they do not exist. Israel, as you well know, not only accepted UN 242, but was instrumental in drafting it, and the well worn cliche that Israel " should be forced to accept 242, and that she is in breach ", is an urban myth. Shai, I shall concede one thing, and one thing only. There is a group of people who wish to call themselves Palestinians and achieve what is termed "self determination ". This is an unequivocal fact. This they have a right to do, but not at our expense and in breach of international convention. Israel has expressed, and backed this up with actions, for the duration of the conflict, that she is willing to compromise. The Arabs have expressed, and backed this up with actions, for the duration of the conflict, that they are not willing to compromise. When they lay down their arms and stop the nonsense of "freedom fighters" then we can negotiate, they are searching with guns and blood for a freedom that they could have had long ago just by accepting international convention. The Palestinians have no legal claim to the Land of Israel, they have no historical claim and with this knowlege in mind they resort to violence or political rhetoric. the rhetoric is a fabulous weapon, because it is lapped up by feeble minds all over the world, the violence is an expression of their upbringing, religion and general philosophy of Islam. This violence can only be met with the natural basic human instinct of " he who rises to kill you, pre- empt and kill him ". We are one miniscule country and people facing the onslaught of 22 Arab countries and peoples, a virtual "tsunami", I do not blame those who seek solace and redemption in "The Almighty of Israel", I do not blame those who seek a solution of appeasement. I understand both of them. Man, by nature, is optimistic and pins hope on unrealistic solutions to problems. We have one solution, in my humble opinion, stick to our guns and position at all costs and in all events, when you believe in something, never, never, never give up. We are right and we shall prevail. Best wishes.
22. Stick to TA
Yuval Brandstetter M ,   lehavim Israel   (05.23.06)
Shai, stick to TA and stay there. The Persian bomb is coming. One day, when the Bomb is a reality (moths according to olmert) you too will want to flee to Maaleh Rehavam. Shalom Achshav will enlist the PA police to put you back where you belong, on the banks of the yarkon, fodder for radiation.
