The truth regarding Israeli license plates are NOT based on numbers as the fiction reminder states but based on colour: Red plates= Israeli police cars (marked + unmarked + some private cars owned by cops) Black plates= Israeli military vehicles (includes a lot of civilian type cars driven by soldiers) Yellow plates= standard plates, used by any Israeli citizen whether Arab, Jew or Christian who lives within the Green line and Jerusalem Blue plates (these are the ones that cause a lot of confusion)= Non-Israeli citizens (Palestinians) living in the territories e.g. the West Bank. Israeli residents of the West Bank (settlers) use Yellow plates and not Blue plates. The common fallacy is that lisence plate colour depends solely upon the drivers religion. This is totally untrue.
