1. What a shame...
Mauricio ,   Brazil   (05.21.06)
The new Isreali defence minister is a shame. The Israeli army (IDF) has all the emans but it seems that politics are demaging its ability to act....
2. A real pity the ones that supported pullout live in Tel Aviv
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (05.21.06)
3. Weren't these palestinians starving???
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (05.21.06)
4. This wont make news. WHY
Lemar ,   UK   (05.21.06)
I have never seen an article in a news paper regarding Quasam attacks like this, all I read is Israeli attacks on Palestinians. WHY. The Israel governemnt must publisise these attacks, it is a main reason for UK and world anti semitism because the public are unaware of the quassams. Israel will now shell Gaza and that will make all the papers with a tiny word at the end about the Quassams. The key is the headlines are allways biased against Israel.
5. Good thing nothing happen to the children!
Jerusalem,Israel   (05.21.06)
Baruch hashem!
6. Am glad that disengagement has brought peace!
Dudu ,   Kfar Sava   (05.21.06)
Yep, those leftists sure know how to do things
7. #4. EXACTLY. When will these make news?
howard ,   pacific coast, usa   (05.21.06)
Qassams are rocket propelled bombs. The PA just bombed an Israeli school during the school day. When will the daily barage of bombs from Gaza make news anywhere but in Israel? Do 50 kids have to die first? Thank G-d for protecting the kids.
8. Qassam attacks
Brod ,   USA   (05.21.06)
Why wait? Strike the terrorists hard and fast.
9. Six hours
yakov shani ,   IL.   (05.21.06)
after a rocket falls on an Israeli schoolroom and still there are buildings standing in Gaza ! Unbelievable, Israelis obviously have a genetic mutation still to be uncovered, let's hope it is discovered just a few days before annihilation, perhaps it will be our saviour.
10. if this made the news, BBC would reflect on pali suffering
(05.21.06)
11. Palestinian target practice.
yakov shani ,   IL.   (05.21.06)
Right, right, more to the right, spot on !!! Left, left, more to the left, wrong target !!!
12. Qassams hit school
Laura ,   USA   (05.21.06)
Olmert and Peretz give food and medicine to Palestinians-and order an investigation for hit on enemies by the IDF- as JEWISH ISRAELI CHILDREN ARE ATTACKED BY PALESTINIANS! Livni-a Mother, and Peres a greedy, corrupt adled traitor meet with Abbas and give him more help and money as he sends squads to kill these children. He refuses to stop the terror. What kind of human beings are these Israeli leaders? These men- and a WOMAN- are suicidal and lethal to our children. Get rid of them as soon as is possible before one more child is hurt, killed, or terrorized for being Jewish and/ or living in Israel. How many children have to be hurt, maimed, or killed?
13. BBC is silent on this
Larry ,   Eastbourne, UK   (05.21.06)
Yes, 4 and 7 above are absolutely right, I have looked at the BBC News website and this incident is not mentioned - i.e. it has been censored out - although it happened several hours ago.
14. Questions do NOT go away if you do not know the answer
Yoel Ariel ,   moving about   (05.21.06)
So it seems that "the Question" is still unanswered. Like facts, questions are funny things. They do NOT go away if unanswered. They remail questions forever. Helen the Englander? Abu Steiner? Secular Sabra? Shai the Sayeret Savion Advocate? Nu?????? No response to "the Question"? Anyone on the left? All the Kadima-Krats? All of the Bolshie Limousine Laborites? What about the pea-brained law & order the settler's made me do it morons? No response? I assume that means that you are morally bankrupt as well as out of words to justify your crimes against your fellows, and your nation? (Helen opts out of the last) She or He (not there is anything wrong with that) is Eeenglish. Want me to repeat the question again sloooowly? OK. Listen up class. "Would any of the Southern Israel towns and facilities currently under attack by rocketry, ...................... ........ have been within firing range............... if Israel had NOT unilateraly withdrawn; retreated while................................ .......................militarily unchallenged from Gaza, after having dispossed Jews from their homes .............. ................and thereby afforded hostile elements new and hostile ...............forward firebases from which to launch attacks? And the answer is????????
15. Just a thought.
D- ,   San Diego, USA   (05.21.06)
Why not take the money that was going to go for medicine for Palestinian kids and use it to fortify the Israeli kids scools against Qassams? It seems, that by launching the Qassams, the Palestinians are in favor of this.
16. Laura, no. 12
RobertK ,   Jerusalem   (05.21.06)
If you're Jewish, you prove that Yehoshua is wrong. Jews living outside Israel can often understand realities here better than most Israelis. Right on.
17. Fortify my butt
Yossi ,   Canada   (05.21.06)
Olmert you are an embarressment of a leader. Build more walls so Jews can cower behind them - that's the ticket. Or maybe, we play by arab rules and bomb their schools. Look at the upside, if there children are dead, they won't be hungry and they won't evolve into the only palistinian export product - terrorists.
18. People of Sderot - Send Strong Message To Regime
Adina kutnicki   (05.21.06)
These horror are the fruits of 'disengagement''. I am positive that once a missile hits the Knesset or one of the coastal schools where the self appointed elite have their children, the flying kassams will stop. 'Convergence' will bring them closer to the elites and they will be forced to unleash the power of the IDF. The good citizens of the IDF need to give the evil regime a collective threat. They should cease doing army duty and paying taxes until said army is tasked to protect them. Of course a strong army is in everyone's best interest. However, desperate times call for desperate measures. Why should the people of Sderot et al risk their lives in the army if the regime refuses to protect their families and communities?
19. #4 (Lemar): ACT UP
sk ,   USA   (05.21.06)
Very simple, Lemar. Do you want to know how to get the British newspapers to cover missile attacks on Jews? Just Google what the AIDS group ACT UP did with the New York Times, which refused to cover the disease that was rapidly spreading around them. For example, you chain yourself and fellow pro-Israel activists to all the entries into a "news" building. Journalists will have to cover the incident. Sometime later, barge into the editor's office & chain yourself to his desk. The idea is to inconvenience and (we hope) infuriate them, and to get media coverage. Pay no attention to the pundits who say your cause will suffer from bad PR. The point is not to make friends but increase awareness and impose a penalty for anti-Israel bias.
20. #14(Yoel): the silence of the Left
sk ,   USA   (05.21.06)
They have no answer, or rather, they have not the honor to admit how wrong they were (and still are, I'm sure) about the Gaza expulsion. They so enjoyed the pogrom that they just can't see how they will personally suffer for it. Thing is, the results were 100% predictable. Glick on JPost had been yelling about it for months. Now she's yelling about the expulsion of Jews from Judea and Samaria. If that happens, a classroom of murdered Jewish kids will be small potatoes. On the bright side, maybe the Arabs will manage to nail some Kadima supporters in Tel Aviv. Perhaps even Yair Lapid.
21. Fortification is an inefficient way to address terrorism
sk ,   USA   (05.21.06)
An unnamed IDF official: "There is no end to fortification," an IDF official said Sunday morning. "We can block any structure with concrete from all directions, but it's not realistic economically and practically. The threat is developing, today a Qassam, tomorrow a Grad, and the day after tomorrow is could be a threat that the fortification will not be good enough for." Of course. The best defense is a good offense (in Zio-speak I think its called "forward defense"). These Pals are militarily insignificant but have no fear of Israel. Why is a single Hamas or Fatah leader still alive?
22. NOTHING IN SWISS NEWSPAPER
Rebecca Hirsh ,   Geneva,Switzerland   (05.21.06)
Its a shame. The newspaper of Geneva:la tribune de Geneve, doesnt even mention about the missilessent in the school today in Israel. But they speak about how a swiss diplomate was intimadated by a Tsahal...
23. Gaza Give-away ENDANGERED Israel. STOP the SURRENDERS!
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (05.21.06)
Israel has had outstanding leaders, but If Israel's present-day leaders had been in charge of fighting the Nazis during the second world war, we would have lost the war. Winston Churchill did not believe in surrender. He proclaimed: "We will fight in the hills. We will fight in the streets, but we will NEVER surrender." Fully aware that Israel would be made more vulnerable to terrorist attacks and enormous disasters, weak Israeli leaders, under relentless U.S. pressure, gave Gaza as a gift to the terrorists. Creating Hamastan - a GLOBAL base for terrorists! Re-take Gaza and north Samaria. The Jerusalem Post JPost.com Feb. 17, 2006 4:15 | Updated Feb. 17, 2006 8:59 Kassams at Ashkelon pose grave threat By YAAKOV KATZ Israel needs to prepare for a large-scale disaster caused by Kassam rockets which could strike the Ashkelon power plant or chemical storage tanks in the nearby industrial zone, senior security and government officials warned on Thursday. On Tuesday, eight Kassams were fired at the Western Negev, with one exploding close to a strategic installation in the Ashkelon industrial zone. The attack was not the first time that Kassams landed in the industrial zone - home to a number of factories and strategic installations, including the Ashkelon power station, a desalination plant and sections of the Ashkelon-Eilat oil pipeline. National Infrastructure Ministry officials told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday that while the Kassam was a small and relatively primitive rocket, if fired accurately it had the ability to shut down the Ashkelon power plant, which provides electricity to half of the country. "If fired accurately, a Kassam could cause a huge disaster in the industrial zone," a senior police officer who specializes in emergency situations told the Post. "It obviously depends where it falls, but there are places that, if hit, would cause severe damage to infrastructure and human lives." The officer specifically referred to tanks of ammonia and other highly flammable chemicals in one of the factories as a sensitive target that needed to be protected...
24. It IS kind of quiet here, is it not???
Yoel Ariel ,   out & around   (05.21.06)
SK,#20 in the USA OK. so how about you and Shani and everyone that ever posts here or anywhere, close each posting with the call , a demand for an answer to THE QUESTION. If no answer is forthcomming, the Kadima-Krats & Limousine Laborites and the Mordant Meretzniks and their anti-Jewish supporters are wasting their time attempting to push their point of view. Anything they say other than "we are in charge" (for now) is without merit UNTIL the QUESTION is answered. Force them to address it. And if they try to get around it; do NOT worry. I have ANOTHER Question awaiting. ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!!!
25. # 24 Yoel
yakov shani ,   IL.   (05.21.06)
I am with you 100 %. I am sure that sk's evaluation that they do not have an answer is correct, I am sure that his assertion of sans testicles is correct. My belief is that when it comes to the crunch things will change. I do not mean by this that public pressure will effect this change. I mean pressure of another kind. There is always in Israel, at all times, and certainly in times of national crisis a group of people who are in a position to influence, not politicians and not public figures, it has happened before and my bet and hope is that it will happen again.
26. #24 (Yoel) I have ALREADY been doing as you suggest.
