Britain has suvived as a country because it stole Iranian oil for years to convert its Navy from coal to oil; The British Museum is full of stolen artifacts from Iran; the Brits have been active participants in ALL acts of invsion and looting in the ME even as we post. You must be clueless by saying that Britain should stop its 1 million pound a year trade with Iran. This Ynet report and another story I saw elsewhere state that Iran rejected a US offer of direct talks in Iraq. But in the last day or two I saw the opposite: that the US was the one who rejected the talks. In fact, that other report said the US ambassador to Iraq, who was supposed to conduct the talks with Iraq, was surprised to hear that they had been called off by Bush. Iran & the US have mutually not spoken since the 1970's hostage crisis. Since then, Iran has been developing nukes, threatening the US & friends, and been attacking using saboteurs (terrorists), especially in Iraq lately. No offer of talks between the US & Iran occurred up until then. The US, in response to Iran's actions, offered talks limited to the subject of Iraq, and clearly stated that any talks regarding Iran's nukes must continue to occur between Iran & the other UN countries. Iran accepted this. Iran then offered talks between the US & Iran directly about it's nukes. The US reiterated it's position that those talks must occur between Iran & the other UN countries. Iran then rejected talks with the US about Iraq, and tried to blame the US because the US would not talk directly with Iran about it's nukes. Hope that helps clear it up.
