1. Israeli government is criminally negligent
AK   (05.29.06)
When it comes to the safety of the Israeli civilians, the government doesn't even pretend to care -- they simply send in the mop up units after the fact and the victims are buried and out of the way the following day. Whatever happens to those injured and maimed I have no idea since neither this paper nor any other ever bother to report.
2. Why be so quick to blame the government?
Adam Admati ,   Israel   (05.29.06)
Why be so quick to blame the government? Maybe the CONTRACTOR did his usual crappy job, paid off the inspector and, voila... Dead Israelis!
3. Shelters remained locked in the North
oskar Prager ,   Petach Tikva   (05.29.06)
This is typical negligence of Israeli officialdom, irrespective whether it is the local municipality, the army or ministry of defence. Only when someone is killed or maimed will there be an investigation and most likely noone will ever hear more of it. If I were a minister in the government I would arraign everyone from the PM down to the mayor for major negligence. Always remember what Pres.Nixon said "the buck stops here".
