howard ,   pacific coast, usa   (06.08.06)
Are their goods being specially labelled? WHY NOT?
34. boycot sweden ? = stop using phones
Stephanopolous ,   Athens, Greece   (06.08.06)
Sweden's LM Ericsson supply 100% of Israel's landline network and 97% of cell phone network... lol, Greek and US wine is better anyways.
35. BIZZARRO PRO-SYRIAN PREJUDICE!
Uzi   (06.08.06)
It's so bizzarre how the Europeans side with Syria - which is about ten times the size of israel without the Golan heights - even though it is clear that it is vital to Israel's security and the Druze living there are overwhelmingly in favor of staying part of Israel.
36. Israel gained Golan when Attacked - Part of Israel...
Seth ,   Washington, DC   (06.08.06)
...just like large chunks of Poland used to be German territory and many other examples
37. To #34-a ignorant greek
Arie   (06.09.06)
If the swedes held the patents I would be impressed. As it is, they only hold contracts which can be changed. There are any number of ISraeli, American and German companies that could easily replace the Swedes. It is the swedes that have the most to lose. That said, when are they going to stop being so pissed that hitler lost the war. Seems you are unhappy about that as well
38. If the Label says ... Israel.. Boycott
richard Hitchings ,   methil   (06.09.06)
As we do here in Methil.

41. Golan Heights
Jack ,   Kfar Saba - Israel   (06.09.06)
After World War I, the Ottoman Empire was divided among British Control ( Palestine and Iraq ) and French Control (Syria and Lebanon).) The Balfour Declaration was included un the British Mandate of Palestine , formalizing for the jewish people the boundaries that would comprise their future national home. As expressed by Winston Churchill in march 1921 -"--- it is manifestly righ that the Jews , who are scattered all over the world , should have a national centre and a National Home...And where else could that be but in this land of Palestine ,with which for more than 3000 years they have been intimately and profoundly associated ? " But , in 1922 British redivided the Jewish National Home and gave 77 % of the Mandate to the Arabs as Transjordan and in 1923 the British gave another part of the Mandate , the Golan Heights , to the French Mandate of Syria . ( Syria became independent in 1943 and Transjordan in 1946) . The Golan Heights contain many archaelogical remains of Jewish Settlements from the time of the Second Temple until the 4th century AD including close to 39 synagogues After the War of Independence, the Syrians converted the Heights into a military fortress which commanded the Sea of Galilee, the Heleh Valley and the northern Jordan Valley, and was frequently used for artillery shelling of Israeli settlements and traffic, thr Huleh Drainege Project and the National Water Carrier. ....During the Six-Day War were captured by the IDF. Therefore, ... the Golan Heights is not a .... historic place for the Syrians.. only from 1923 until 1967 they have the possession of the Golan (from 1943 until 1967 as a independent state).... The Golan, historically, physically and strategically is a natural part os Israel. PS With the British. Mandate, for the first time we can see a map of the place called Palestine. And after the cession of Transjordan and Golan to the Arabs, the leftover was included in the UN Partition Plan . Now we have to buy more .Golan Wines ( very good wines) and denounce more one bias from our Sweden friends (no so good frien ds ) .
42. boycott ISrael
USA   (06.09.06)
as we try to do in USA as often as possible!!!
43. #12; The popultion there speaks arabic?
(06.09.06)
There are very few Arabs there (or more correctly Druze), most of the population is Jewish. And if you would ask the Arabs there whether they want the Syrians back they will spit in your face and kick you out of the vilage.
44. Golan wine labelling
Sandra ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (06.09.06)
This is the e-mail of Systembolaget, the government controlled chain of shops that sells wine, beer etc., Suggest everyone who finds their methods questionable, should write to them stating your abhorrence to the wording on the labels of Golan Wines. I did. kundtjanst@systembolaget.se
45. #39 Nokia is a Finnish company
(06.09.06)
46. Weird...
andreas ,   stockholm, sweden   (06.09.06)
This issue have not been mentioned at all in the swedish media. Guess you guys (israelis) are pretty pissed off at our (swedish) government. Bare in mind that they do not reflect all of the swedish population thoughts on the israel/palestine issue though.
47. Nr. 39 sk
joe   (06.09.06)
NOKIA is a FINNISH Company. But it doesn't matter at all. Sixty percent of "hollywood-educated" americans can't even find their arch-enemy Cuba on a map, how can one expect they know the difference between Sweden and Finland.... In SanFrancisco a high-rank CoastGuard officer once asked me seriousely: "Tell me, Norway - is this a province of Sweden?" Welcome to the "Land of the Free - of education"
48. Wine
Ian ,   Stockholm   (06.09.06)
Whats the problem. If you like the wine drink it. Does it matter where it's made ....or is that a sensitive issue?
49. Stop wining!
Sameer ,   Occupied Golan   (06.09.06)
It's not your land. You exploit the land and its inhabitants then complain. Typical!
50. Swedish blindness
Isac ,   Florida   (06.09.06)
Let's see their attitudes, once the Swedes will be required to speak Arabic in their land. With all the numerous, nice and tolerant Muslims you got in your country you are not too far away from doing so! Keep on pleasing your friends..."Allah Ahbar". This is your first and foremost language lesson. Keep on saying it 20 times a day my christian friends.
51. Boycott Israel?
US Patriot ,   Wayne, PA, USA   (06.10.06)
Intelligent worldly US citizens are buying more and more Israeli products as evidence by the amount of new Israeli products in our stores. The supply is supported by the demand and there certainly is a demand.
52. To Joe, #47
Joan ,   Haifa   (06.10.06)
Well, I always *thought* Nokia was a Finnish company. But then, I'm only an uneducated, ignorant American, so maybe I"m wrong. It never occurred to me that Finland and Sweden were the same. But then, perhaps my terrible American education got it wrong... BTW, where are you from that everything's so perfect and there are no ignorant people anywhere?
53. Problem solved. Sort of.
Pappa Satan ,   Stockholm   (06.10.06)
Swedens statecontrolled alchohol-business have decided to not label the wine at all now. Article (in swedish unfortunately) (http://www.aftonbladet.se/vss/rss/story/0,2789,839551,00.html) So let us swedes go back to concerning about our core issues like free downloading and the abolishing of copyright. Syria, israel, palestine, whatever, couldn't care less.
54. ellen prescott?
karen ,   south africa   (06.10.06)
Still haven't choked on your tea and scones (sure you're not really fatima from Bradford?
55. Swedish T-shirts made by Cambodian children slaves

58. So tell them to Label Jesus too
andrew ,   miami,fl   (06.11.06)
59. Golan Heights Wine
Jules Lawrence ,   London,England   (06.11.06)
What a chutzpah by the ignorant Swedes. When Syria owned the land it was left as a swamp without so much as a grape in sight.. Also are the Swedes aware that Israel attained the land in an act of self defence against an unprovoked attack.
60. Israeli wine in Sweden
Syd Rein ,   Toronto, Canada   (06.13.06)
Sold my Volvo (true) crappy car. Won't buy Swedish again.
