1. Katz should call the experts
David ,   Yerushalayim   (06.09.06)
This guys Katz is an amateur. "Pray for us"??? Katz should call up the experts - the guys at Shas and hire them as consultants on different ways to leverage Torah to win support. They could provide a whole menu of services: Amulets, promises of heaven, putting a curse on the enemy (sons of pigs and monkeys etc.)

8. Praying for the Miami Heat
Joanie & Ely Silk ,   Tamarac, USA   (06.09.06)
Unbelievable arrogance and chutzpah! How dare Raanan Katz ask Israelis to go to the Western Wall to pray for his basketball team. If Israelis go to pray, it should be for what Israel needs and that is protection from the heat that surrounds the tiny country. This incredible arrogance is characteristic of too many Israelis, and there is a terrible lesson coming.
9. I will support miami just because the owner is an isreali
Better Israeli Dude ,   Dresden, Germany   (06.09.06)
Whoever doesn't like the Heat just because there owner is an Israeli redefines what it means to be a chaunchbag. You need to wise up, mister.
10. Mark Cuban is Jewish
Bleucher ,   nyc   (06.09.06)
Root for the Mavs!
11. Praying for a Basketball Team
(06.09.06)
These people who pray to God over a sporting event really make me laugh. Is this the same God who didn't do anything to stop the Holocaust?
12. I will support Miami...just because Katz is an owner
bob a. ,   marlborough, MA USA   (06.09.06)
Fairest guy in the world. He's worked hard and deserves everything he has. I'm not an Israeli, but I'm praying for Miami!!

16. is prayer really needed
mort prankman ,   israel   (06.09.06)
maybe instead of us going to the wall, all the players on the Heat should huddle up and give themselves a Chai Five!! god just might then allow them to sink a few more 3 pointers...
17. ?
Daniel ,   USA   (06.09.06)
The owner of a team doesn't really matter. Praying for a sports team to do well? We all have graver concerns than that.
18. Miami Heat Owner: Israel, pray for our victory
Dagger ,   Minneapolis, MN   (06.09.06)
How silly can you get!! If there is a god and he is paying attention to the planet, there must be a lot more to concern himself with than a basketball game. And Israel has many more things to be concrened with than a basketball game!!! Get a clue and "pray" for something that is worth "praying" for!!! End world hunger, racial issues, end to terrorism, etc!!!
19. Prayer for the western wall
Josh ,   Brooklyn, NY   (06.09.06)
Boruch ata Hashem alukeyni melech h’olem borey pre hashaq!
20. God answered my prayers last night
Tim ,   Ft. Worth, USA   (06.09.06)
I prayed for the Mavericks last night. It looks like God answered my prayers. If God is rooting for the Mavericks there is no need to pray.
21. LOL
TaoWalker ,   Atlanta   (06.09.06)
The only thing I will be praying for is that I get rich enough one day to own a pro basketball team.
22. Who's more Jewish?
Bruce Davis ,   Dallas, Texas   (06.09.06)
Mr. Katz had better think twice before asking Israel for help. Consider this: Dallas Maverick owner Mark Cuban is also Jewish, as is Dallas Mayor Laura Miller. Looks like Dallas has Miami double-teamed here.
23. GO DALLAS!
(06.09.06)
24. Miami Heat vs Dallas Mavericks
Cindy Reed ,   Euless, TX, USA   (06.09.06)
With all the strife and violence in Mr. Katz's home country, and the Middle East in general, I am disgusted he would request Wailing Wall prayers for something as trite and trivial as a BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP. In fact, I am often shamed by Society's value of entertainment above Human Rights. Besides.... EVERYBODY KNOWS God is a Mavs fan! :) GO MAVS! Cindy
25. Miami Heat v. Dallas
peter rabbit ,   cottontail, ct, usa   (06.09.06)
Go, Dallas.
26. give me a break
kris ,   usa   (06.09.06)
Give me a break! This just shows how out of touch these billionaires are with the real world. I'm quickly losing interest in professional sports, due to the arrogance of the owners and players. There are real people with real problems, and we could be looking at nuclear war in the mid-east soon. I think we much more serious issues to pray about.
27. PRAYING FOR THE HEAT !!??
Lafe Tolliver ,   Toledo Ohio   (06.09.06)
The owner of the Miami Heat needs to save his words and not try to place the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob on the side of a mere basketball game. God does not take sides in who can put a piece of canvas in a nylon hoop! Eternity God's word is not hinging on the dunk of a Shaq or the swag of a Miami cheerleader. This Heat owner is too goofy for words. Go the Wailing Wall and pray about a basketball game? The time would be best spent praying that the Jewish People will see Jesus as God in the Flesh as as their Lord and Savior.
28. Miami Heat
Matt Ives ,   Lake Oswego, USA   (06.09.06)
"Every Israeli must support us; they must go the Western Wall and pray for us. Miami Heat is no less Israeli than Maccabi. This is also a group with Israeli ownership in which many Americans play." One of those Americans is Shaquille O'Neal. O’Neal by the way invited, unrepentant Jew-hater, Louis Farrakhan to his wedding. Shaq has also attended at least one of Farrakhan's "love-ins" - where no doubt Jewish people were denigrated. I will be praying for Dallas to win. Because I respect Jewish people. Imagine if you will Larry Bird attending Klan meetings. Is there any difference between that and Shaq attending a Farrakhan gathering? I don’t see any. The question must be asked, if Raanan Katz has so much Israeli pride, why is Shaquille O'Neal playing on his team?
29. Shut up & pray quet, it's 0:1 already!!!
Player ,   Miami   (06.09.06)
30. God Bless Texas
naomi frances ,   Dallas, TX, USA   (06.09.06)
Mavericks, Heat, Dallas, Miami. I'm a native Dallasite. I think I'll just pray for everyone that we enjoy the gift of sport G_d's given us. What a gift. I think G_d just loves us all -- regardless of who wins or loses. Isn't that enough?
