Since when does this "former" Pentagon Analyst become an "expert?" Oh, when they finger Israel they become experts, I see. I would trust anyone in human rights watch as far as I could throw them. YNET is really scrapping the bottom of the barrel for headlines to incite their kool-aid drinkers...

Avraham ,   Netivot   (06.14.06)
Human Rights Watch is nothing more than a pro palistinian group of Jewish hating lefties & their opinion means didley sqwat. They are silent as these arab sob's reign missles down on our citizens but cry when we fight back. They can all go to hell.
7. Upper body injuries?
Boaz ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (06.14.06)
Our experience with suicide bombers showed repeatedly that bomb belts are deliberately designed to cause maximum upper body injuries. The shrapnel is placed specifically to insure that.
8. ynet is worse then al jazeera!
naro` ,   nyc   (06.14.06)
How can a newspaper hate its country so much. To repeat the opinion of an uneducated idiot who had no data to spout his opinion. Did Ynet pay that person?

14. Please.
sk ,   USA   (06.14.06)
"“Based on what I have seen, I'd be shocked if it was anything other than that," Garlasco said." What the hell does this mean? First, Garlasco is an extremist.: http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=21037_Israel_Denies_Beach_Bombing_Human_Rights_Watch_Wants_It_to_Be_True&only Second, he doesn't begin to challenge the numerous specific facts that support the IDF position. Rather, he offers a summary opinion. Why should anyone care? The US produces leftist nuts too. Look at the former CIA guy who believes in Jewish conspiracy theories. Look at Ramsey Clark. I notice that there is no bylline for this story. Who wrote it? Who takes responsibility? Ali Waked perhaps?
15. Garlasco is a fraud that works for the Plo.
Daisy ,   USA   (06.14.06)
He's about as impartial as hamass.
16. Ynet is even dumber than Haaretz

17. I thank this US expert for his objectivity.
Palestinian   (06.14.06)
A sad event that requires great objectivity. http://www.palestineremembered.com/ZionistFAQ.html
18. What a strange career...
Bernd ,   Europe   (06.14.06)
...from "Pentagon analyst" to "Human Rights Watch"... I guess the Israeli experts are more expert in the field of what certain bombs, shells and explosives do to human tissue than some American pen-pusher... Bernd, Germany, 'Old Europe'
19. Not FIRST or LAST!!
Jasmine   (06.14.06)
This is not the first incidents of killing civilians...IDF killed countless number of Palestinians...and its funny cuz everytime the IDF invistigates the killngs and find out that they are not invloved... the sad part that when i read a comment in a previous column by an Israelisaying that it is ok to De-humanize the enemy!!!! what a crap! I bet that Hamas uses this strategy when blasting a bus in Tel-aviv!
20. Someone said this; someone said that
Russel ,   Tlv   (06.14.06)
On photoshoot in the Gush I covered a pigua - all the people killed [Palestinian hothouse workers]were hit below the waist. There were conflicting reports as to what happened that day. Some said it was a kassam [they were being fired at the time], others said it was a mortar round [they were being fired at the time]. Someone did say that it was a bomb being prepped by the people who were killed that went off prematurely. There was no entry hole to the room in which they were killed. No crater. No kassam. I arrived at the site minutes after it happened. There wasn't time to take it away. Just blood and body parts were left. Guess I'll never know.
21. Look at the difference
Jezreel ,   Israel   (06.14.06)
I would just like to point out the difference between how the Israeli government reacts to such incidents, and how the PLO reacts. Shouldn't this point to the Truth behind "The Real Truth"?? Dozens of rockets are aimed and fired towards cities such as Sederot where innocent people live their daily lives, and the PLO government doesn't even squeak or try and stop the whole ordeal. The IDF fire missles at these rocket launchers that hide behind "innocent" Palestinian civilians (or Hamas terrorist hostages), and after accidently some are killed, we're the Devil incarnate. Go figure!!
22. Israelis, stop propaganda, it won't work
(06.14.06)
23. Thanks YNET for the comic relief
Cynthia ,   USA   (06.14.06)
If Mark Garlasco was a real expert, he'd know to keep his mouth shut until he had concrete evidence to support his opinion. According to his bio, recent accomplishments include co-authoring a Human Rights Watch report titled "Razing Rafah: Mass home demolitions in the Gaza Strip". If you want a predictable, pro-Palestinian expert opinion, call Mark.
24. X rays tell of Palestinian Hypocracy
Moshe Hershel ,   Berkeley, California   (06.14.06)
CT Scann reveal Y net slantint and far leaning support for Hamas, et, al., lies.
25. Expert yeah right
Caligula's Horse ,   Solomon's Stables   (06.14.06)
Another leftist idiot running around blaming everything on the IDF, anyone who's ever seen a 155mm shelling (this "Expert" had probably seen many according to his portfolio) can easily tell you that they leave huge craters (especially in the sand) and dismember bodies completly, what was on that video was clearly a low charge, perpendicular explosion that can only be caused by a static charge. Here is my view of the things : A few weeks ago a navy unit entered Gaza from the sea and intercepted a Qassam squad. Hamas thought they could trick it next time by placing mines on the shore (like the shayetet disaster). A Palestinian family went to the beach and the kids picked up one of the mines and played with it, (you can see the upper lid of an AT mine in the video) and then it blew up.
26. UN's Annan
Ken ,   SA   (06.14.06)
Annan:"I am deeply disturbed at the killing of (Palestinian) civilians. We call for an immediate full investigation" Palestinian terrorists deliberately fire hundreds of missiles at Israeli cities, schools, homes; killing and injuring Israeli civilians - DO YOU HEAR SOMETHING FROM ANNAN?
27. Did YNET really originate this article?
Piranha ,   Chicago, USA   (06.14.06)
It reads like it's from Reuters or AP, and there's no attribution to a reporter. Did YNET really originate this article?
28. annan doubts????
dana ,   jerusalem, israel   (06.14.06)
why I am not surprised?
29. Israel is always innocent
nehad ismailc ,   camberley, england   (06.14.06)
How dare they suggest that Israel is capable of making mistakes. Israel is always innocent. It does not kill it does not demolish homes it does not abuse people at the airport or check points. It is a Utopia of humanity, democracy and respect of human rights. It is a peace loving country that respect agreements and implements UN resolutions and treats every one with respect and dignity. It does not torture , it does not steal Palestinian lands. It is a helpless state and everyone is trying to sympathise with this poor peaceful impeccable immaculate oasis of freedom, love and co-existence.
30. remarks from former IDF artillery officer...
Ron ,   LA   (06.14.06)
"but that the shrapnel injuries - all to the upper body - suggested that the chance of that was remote and that a 155 millimeter shell caused the explosion." The guy is an idiot. Those balestinians were PICNICKING, therefore sitting on their asses. No questions, ANY explosion would cause injuries to the upper body, no matter the source ( unless they sitting on a mine) We saw lots of this type of injuries in Lebanon and elsewhere. I am sure the guy never been in action ( like Ellen Prescott).. senior ANAlyst.. I saw those analysts, sitting in their air conditioned offices in Pentagon, who saw action only on their TV ..or listened to Israelis who come to visit with their mouth open.... Those are idiots. Another point. This guy works for an organization which critics Israel. What’s the chance for him to get his salary if he doesn't do his job of Israel bashing? What is his chance to ever go back to West bank, after he eccepted Israeli version of events? This will be his last job...Balestinians will chop his head, no questions asked... So let idiots like Ellen Prescott from former British Empire talk about objectivity. He himself is very objective, you see..
